Alex Jackson is a 29 year old catcher. He bad at hitting
Payton Eeles was a 26 year old with a 700 ops in triple a
Proof that the Twins don’t just hate normal fans, they also hate the sickos
Looks like he is a defense first catcher that will be an upgrade over Vasquez as our 2nd catcher. Not a terrible move.
I have no issues with this trade. I’d be surprised if Eeles amounts to much. Jackson is a fine option for backup C

He had a decent 30ish game run last year with an 111 wrc+.
Unlikely it’s a true breakout, but as a backup catcher with good defense even if he reaches the 82 wrc+ in his steamer projection he’ll be a fine backup catcher.
Jeffers big workload season seems more likely with this.
Eeles slugged .332 last year hahaha, I don’t care about Jackson but let’s be real, there is probably not a strong big league future for a 5’5″ guy with less power than Arraez
There will be some frenzied activity over the next few months rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Orioles fan here, kinda sad we traded Jackson. Second straight offseason you guys have taken a guy I like off our roster. (s/o Danny) He’s sick behind the plate, and was tremendous vibes during an all time bad vibes season. Not going to be much with the bat imo, but thought there was a chance he was going to stick around as our 3rd catcher given how elite the defense is.
Not Payton Eeles!!! He had my heart. 💔

Missed in all of this – what was your favorite DaShawn Keirsey Jr moment? – as he was released from the 40 man roster to make room for the new guy.
