This was the right move. Need someone with a bit more experience right now.
Luca battles, but his skillset doesn’t really lineup with the roles available. Let him cook in cleveland until we deal with an upper 6 injury.
Thing is, Gaunce will have to clear waivers to send him back to Cleveland. If he plays well on this stint he might attract some eyes on teams dealing with injury issues. I didn’t realize he was a 1st round draft pick back in 2012 until just now.
I didn’t love them bringing up LDBB to begin with because we don’t have top 6 roles available and he’s not ready for that yet. His time is next year when he becomes waiver eligible because I can promise he gets picked up on waivers if he doesn’t make the team out of camp. We will have open roles for him next year because they will either push Boone and Olivier down or trade Sillinger to open up a spot. There’s also a small chance they get rid of Boone because of his inability to stay healthy which is something DW wants with his players.
