"The Twins slotting in here is probably the biggest surprise of these rankings. They tore down a huge part of their roster over the summer and fired manager Rocco Baldelli at the end of the season. Despite that step back, the projections think Minnesota did well to hang on to a number of key contributors who should continue to serve as a solid core. That includes Joe Ryan and Pablo López in the rotation, and Byron Buxton in the lineup. There’s also a trio of young position players who could make an impact as soon as 2026. Luke Keaschall already showed what he was capable of in the big leagues this year, and he could be joined by Walker Jenkins and Emmanuel Rodriguez next year. Assuming the team doesn’t deal away Ryan, López, or Buxton this offseason, the Twins could be poised for a surprisingly quick rebound."

This is solely based on 2026 Streamers projections with current rosters.
They have the Twins to finish [19th](https://www.fangraphs.com/projections?type=steamer&stats=bat&pos=all&team=8&players=0&lg=&z=1763696718&sortcol=&sortdir=desc&pageitems=30&statgroup=dashboard&fantasypreset=dashboard) in projected batter WAR and [11th](https://www.fangraphs.com/projections?type=steamer&stats=pit&pos=&team=8&players=0&lg=all&z=1763696718&sortcol=&sortdir=desc&pageitems=30&statgroup=dashboard&fantasypreset=dashboard) in pitcher WAR.

I think I’d take the under on that even with the current roster kept intact, which seems unlikely
Fangraphs and overrating the Twins, name a more iconic duo.
They had us at #11 and winning the division [in spring training of this year](https://blogs.fangraphs.com/fangraphs-power-rankings-spring-training-2025/)
Their methodology has a Target Field-sized hole in it.
Lol highly doubt that even if Buxton somehow played 162 games and Joe and Pablo stay.

I mean I hate gambling but that’s gotta be a slam dunk under lmfao
Under please.
I’d bet my house on the under if it’s 80.5
Falvey must be in charge of Fangraphs too.
Taking the under
Fat chance.
I do think they have a non-zero chance to compete for the division title in 2026 but I’ve got my eye on 2027 or 2028. Those prospects they mention will have growing pains in ’26 almost certainly.
Yay?
I’m guessing this is due to fangraphs expecting a leap forward from Lee and Lewis, plus good debuts from Erod and Gabby G and maybe Walker J?
I guess with Louis Varland and Carlos Correa they would have beaten the 27 Yankees
