Brendan Donovan is drawing major trade interest as MLB hot stove picks up

  1. Don’t really see the fit for him tbh. You aren’t likely to find a taker for McMahon, Jazz is better, and Donovan isn’t really that appealing as a full time LFer (you’d probably ask about Nootbaar before Donovan if you wanted a full time corner OF option from the cards)

  2. MLB Network’s Jon Morosi says the Yankees are one of the teams interested.

Pros: Turns 29 in January, so not super old. Career .282/.361/.411 hitter. Primarily a second baseman but also has played third, short, first, and outfield. Cheap ($2.85 million salary in 2025, has two years of team control left before reaching free agency).

Cons: Gets hurt a lot. Another LHB who can’t hit LHP. Not a free agent, we’d have to trade for him.

  3. He’s a worse hitter than Grisham, who this sub blew a fucking gasket over re-signing. I don’t see the appeal given that he mainly plays 2nd and a touch of left nowadays. For as much as he’ll cost, it’s by no means worth it.

  4. Don’t see the fit with jazz on the team. Him in LF for a full year isn’t the best fit. I guess if belli walks maybe

  5. Wouldn’t we be better off with Kwan? He’s pure corner outfielder, and steady leadoff hitter to put in front of Judge. He just feels like the smarter choice
