How does this even happen??

The price you pay, the sweet deal you have to make to the devil for two Stanley Cups is catching up to the Florida Panthers. And the latest player to join the injury list is E2 Lostin. Though this was certainly not a hockey related injury as one might think, that would be too easy. Florida is starting to get creative, taking a page out of the Devil’s book. Instead, Paul Maurice told us today that Etu got injured at a barbecue. That’s right. Not getting Crowalled on the ice. He suffered injuries from a barbecue incident. And that’s all we know as he’s placed on IR as weak to weak. That shades of burning your foot in the George Foreman grill or getting your hand caught in the snowblower. Come on, Joe. But for real, as funny and also not funny, hopefully he’s okay as this is, this is a real Florida man incident. And it’s weird that this happens right after Jack Hughes had his weird accidental injury at dinner. Do hockey players not know how to eat? But for real, this is something I think about all the time. It’s remarkably rare that something like this actually happens given how often ordinary people hurt themselves in random ways or are sick, especially during the playoffs. Like, do they keep these guys in a bubble? But with this injury, Lucinan is added to the Panthers IR along with Mattie Kachchuck doing his podcast, Captain Barov, Kulakov, Noek, Gajivic, and Schmidt. Not great. They’re also not looking so hot this year. 13th in the East below Philly and my horrible Rangers. Not good. The only teams they’re better than right now is Buffalo and a pretty lackluster Toronto, which also is not good. Now, a wheezy 5 Pete, baby three Pete is still on the table. Florida’s done this the past couple of years where they pick up steam and momentum in the second half of the season and head into the playoffs rolling. And I mean, you look at their roster, you look at who’s missing, you can believe it. But I think at this point they may also be better just to take a year off and go full force into 26 27.   1. Can’t even care about what happens to the Panthers cause my Edmonton Oilers are such a meme that I actually celebrated them losing 2-1 in OT today and getting a loser point. Even though they were winning for the ENTIRE game and I should be disappointed I am not. Take any point you can get and live to fight another day.

  34. Do they not know how to eat? I dunno, a lot of them are missing teeth, so maybe. 🤣

    On a side note, considering who they’re missing right now, it’s stunning they’re in the position they’re in, standing wise. One or two more wins and they’d be up near the top as they would have been without the injuries.

  37. Honestly, I’m not surprised. One of the reasons three-peating in sports is so hard is having the right pieces and having enough go your way (execution) to win it all one year is hard enough. Doing it two years in a row when everyone is gunning for you is even harder. Three years? Usually, something happens (injury, core ages, or opponent is constructed to match your team exactly) that throws everything out of wack.
