Saints DE Cam Jordan on Kirk Cousins, Falcons, closing out games, building on first half of the year
Did you double down on the hair? I I I did right before uh what was that? Friday before the game. It was supposed to be silver. I think I’m not sure how colors work, but it came out way more not silver than I wanted to be. I I’m in this blueberry yum yum phase. I’m in like the the the the wonderful old ladies that be playing, you know, like Yeah. I think it’s intimidating like somebody’s like, “That guy got me.” Like he looks No doubt. It made me quicker, you know? We got past that and normally I’m on the left. I got to I I’m always get more excited when like the sacks come from the side I’m usually not supposed to be on. Right. Right side sack feels better. You know that’s what I’m saying. It’s weird. I went 10 straight weeks. How much did you need to get away in? We did it. I don’t know. We just won. Come on. I’m trying to build up on good times and now we’re in the hate week. Like you know what it is for me. Can’t stand the people. Falcons. Throw that. Watch your mouth. I fools is what I was about to say. Fire trucks. Fire trucks. Um, how much Well, what I was going to say, how much momentum maybe can be derived from having a win right before the bye-week and like kind of taking that momentum into this? I don’t know. You had a whole seven days off, so guys feel fresh. I’m sure we’re going to get some guys back that we we’ve we’ve missed. Um, guys that were feeling achy, you know, going 10 weeks strong for anybody. Uh, that that could take some time. And um you know it all comes down to for this game comes down to a little bit of luck, a lot of grit, a lot of will. And I think again this locker room has been nothing short of amazing with the with the season that we faced, how we haven’t seen people fall off, fall out. Um guys have been locked in and we just have to be able to be able to close these games. We’ve had games where we should have closed. So momentum, sure, let’s call it whatever you want to. We beat Carolina. Carolina goes beats Atlanta yesterday. Um so we feel like, you know, it’s it’s it’s time. Do you feel like you guys might have figured out some things with your run defense? I’m not going to put it on anybody or anything right now. We are focused on us. Uh I think we’re locked in enough to get that win last week. You take seven days off. Hey, we we’re feeling fresh. It’s time to go get it again. Well, I’m saying your run defense. So, like did you guys make improvements that you think can keep I hope so. I hope so. Look, uh albeit you say you when you’re stacking wins, you understand how you how you’re winning. We put two together. So, I know how we win. You know, we we win the turnover battle. We eliminate We eliminate p penalties that start off drives on offense. We eliminate the penalties that extend drives on defense. I know exactly how we can win. We just have to continue to prove it. That’ll that’ll tell me if we’ve improving or not. Yeah. And I know you don’t want to give the Falcons any credit, but is this what I don’t give a go darn piss about the tie, baby. When you face Bejon and and Tyler Aljen, one of the best tests for you guys. Yeah. I mean, phenomenal running back. I think, you know, Carolina has a a great a great back set. I think we’ve we’ve faced the Rams face Seattle. We’ve we face a lot of top tier running backs. Um and Bejian is a top five renov. I mean, what he’s able to do with the ball is special because you face the Rams and the Patriots and all these different teams early on. Everybody with these these Yeah. these records right now. Yeah. What do you think the value of that is kind of the the back half here of weathering the storm early or I don’t know anything beyond this week. Look, I I’ve never known the entire schedule, so I couldn’t tell you what’s going to work on the back end. I know we got Atlanta week coming up. I know it’s Monday and by Sunday, we better be fully geared up. By Wednesday, I mean, I came in off the bye-week knowing who we had. I got to talk to Matt Ryan yesterday. So, I’m facing quarterback just like you. What’s Michael? I mean, you go say he’s official. Yeah, I think so. Wait, you can’t say it’s official, by the way. Oh, wait. I think so. Season ending injury, right? Oh, no. I hate to hear that. I think just heard his leg little stub. He’s be out for a week or two. You know what? Um, shout out to the to the young gentleman. Um, you hate to hear a season ending in injury. Kirk Oains is back and you know, I’m sure we’re going to get his best like always somehow someway. Yeah. No matter what happens, whenever whenever team plays us, all of a sudden everybody’s healthy, everybody’s doing amazing. Whatever. To that point, I mean, obviously Penn is out. um just believed is going to be out as well for this game. Do you feel what happened when he when he fell on the uh the deep bowl? I believe he’s like things happen. Does the familiarity help with Kurt? Uh I mean it just depends. You know what Kirk can do when he’s playing at at his optimal level. He’s getting off the ball another two and a half seconds. It’s annoying. There’s a reason why he’s been he’s been a staple for the league for so long. Um yeah, we’re going to have to put a game plan together. this year going Monday. Guess what? We don’t have a I don’t know the game plan yet. Going to try and ask what I asked again earlier. Is there value of facing those like the Rams and the the Patriots early? Like do you feel like you there been value had we been had we had we added to the winning solution? Sure. Uh when you’re losing, you know what you don’t want to happen. Uh when you’re when you’re winning, you understand how you get there. I mean it’s a lot like you know you look over at Denver and how they beat the Chiefs. Doesn’t matter how you get there as long as you are able to finish them out. we haven’t been able to finish things out on the flip side. So where where we feel like we should be whatever seven and three whatever whatever it is we’re now sitting on the 2 and a side whereas you see Denver closing out those games you see Carolina closing out these close games we have to be able to close out these close games so I see value in the wins yes where we get a lead we haven’t given it back yet got to find a way to get a lead what’s been like your approach to byweeks in terms of the negotiation between relax or not relaxing but resting and getting well but then also like saying oh I tweaked my I tweaked my ankle two weeks ago. So, I knew what it was for me. I was rehabbing, you know. Um, so I finally felt great right before it took off. Did some mental network, did some CBS right when I was like, “Oh, I can run again.” So, it’s great. It was great for me. I look forward to it. Got a little got a little run in a little uh with the with the team 30 minutes ago. Felt phenomenal. I said, “Oh, we’re back, baby.” Did you have to stay here? Cuz I wanted to. Sure. I don’t know if anyone I mean, did I play Sunday? Yeah. Okay. Yep. That’s how it works for me.

Cam is just a straight all time Saint.
Top 5 Saint
Love hearing Cam give praise to ATL's #7, and also showing true compassion about Penix. A genuine professional
Cam the best hands down
Kirko Chains is more recent, but Captain Kirk is far more accurate for Kirk. He might feel like this is a sort of revenge game considering the last time the Falcons faced the Saints is when Kirk's arm got hurt.
