LB BJ Ojulari Press Conference- 11.17.25 | AZ Cardinals

It felt good. Um, kind of felt surreal. You know, I haven’t been out there for so long. Um, you know, it was just great to be out there with my brothers and, you know, to have another opportunity to fight. You were, I know JG was talking about how maybe that for a player when you have an injury like the one you did, like it might be a little bit in your mind when you’re bending the knee a little bit, different movements. Did you have any of that in the game? No, in the game I didn’t uh really think about it too much. Um when I watch the tape you can tell that, you know, I’m not uh as playing as low, but it it’s going to come with time. You know, the more I’m more conscious of it, the more I practice it in practice, I’m going to be more fluid and just getting lower. Sure. Being on the sidelines, you probably have a different perspective of what’s going out on the field. just how would you evaluate how this team has done so far through week 11 and the sort of impact you can make in these remaining handful of games? Yeah. Um I think uh every game that we were in, we fight. Um you know, I think this last game we just uh didn’t play as clean as we were supposed to. Um you know, it’s definitely different from being out there and um you know, being on the sidelines. So for me it’s just being able to do the best job I can and being able to just contribute and just make some more, you know, flash plays, you know, target the ball more, try to get more force fumbles just to give us a better chance. How do you guys get cleaner moving forward? Yeah, we just got to, uh, you know, practice more clean, um, you know, eliminate the penalties, uh, and just hone in on the little details that’s going to get us over the top. It doesn’t count as a sack, that two-point conversion where you took down Pury, but the fact that you had that big play in your first game in more than a year and a half. Is that any sort of validation for you that you still got it? Yeah, it felt good. Um, you know, like you said, it doesn’t count, but uh it it still feels good to go out there, you know, get a sack on a two-point conversion. Um, and yeah, that’s all I needed. I just need to know that I can do it. And, you know, if you can do it once, you can do it again. What was uh what was Saturday night like for you? Um to be honest, I tried not to make it as a big deal as uh you know everybody seemed. I know I’ve been out for a while, but for me, I just wanted to stay calm, you know, just not make it a big deal. So, when game time came, it was just like I’ve been out there before. How’s your body feeling now? I feel good. I I was a little sore. Um, you know, uh, I didn’t get like a immense amount of reps. So, you know, you know, Jay-Z and Monty, those guys, uh, Chad and all those guys did a great job just, you know, monitoring me throughout the game, monitor me when I come back, uh, came back today. But, you know, I’m a little sore. You know, I got in the training room and I’m feeling a lot better. Your first time playing with Josh and maybe Zavan outside as much as he was because that was kind of a change last year. What can you say about what those two are doing that might not show up in the numbers, but are still making an impact? Yeah, I mean those guys are um our most technical sound guys. Um Zavan, you know, he’s a football whiz. He knows everything. Um you know, from the back end to the Dline. Um you know, Sweaty, he’s he’s that guy that goes and make make those big plays. Um so, it’s a lot that I can learn from from both of them in different aspects of the game and stuff that I can put into my game to make me the complete player that I want to be. You guys have a lot of outside linebackers. How do you feel about coming into a room where obviously they’re going to have to juggle some playing time? Um, you know, it’s it’s it’s not no problem for me. You know, I just got to take advantage of the opportunities that I have. Um, learn from the guys and the aspects that they have in their game and see where I can add it to mine. Um, yeah, we got a good amount of outside linebackers, but I feel like we all hold u different values and different strengths in the game. Coming off the last two games for this team and now you’re going to face a Jacksonville team and offense that didn’t punt on Sunday, what is the most pressing aspect mentally to stay locked in all week? Uh I think just the character and the leadership of our team. Um we don’t waver in that aspect of mental uh preparation. I feel like we feel we go in locked in. we do a good job of taking in the information from the week before um analyzing it, getting better, and then putting it uh away, and then focusing on Jacksonville. Um that was last week for Jacksonville. So, as a defense, we have very high standards and we want to uh uphold
