Albert Breer Settles Patriots “Chiefs/Broncos” Debate

Burke Breer is in studio with us. Uh, okay. More on this in terms of what Cam Newton was saying. We heard from him earlier playing another clip with him talking today about why he believes the Patriots and their season is fool’s gold. He he said nobody is picking Drake May in the wildard round if he matches up with Patrick Mahomes. He said no one’s picking him and no one’s picking the Patriots. I think that’s probably right. Like a lot of people default to pick the Chiefs. Yeah. Nationally, I think that is true. Yeah. Elimination game. Elimination game. Yeah. Let me give you two scenarios. Two scenarios that we debated. We fiercely debated this. We fiercely debated it all week to this point. If you were the Patriots, would you rather play Kansas City at home in a playoff game? So, at Gillette, Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes, at Gillette, or go to Denver to play at Denver against Bo Knicks, but that’s not who you’re playing. You’re playing that Denver defense and you’re playing a really good coach in Shawn Peyton where you go into a game and say, “Well, the coaching advantage is not there.” You got Shawn Peyton on the other sideline, leading the witness here. And and well, that I’m not leading the witness. I’m just talking about it. My answer is going to be neither. But those are fact. Well, no, I would agree. But which one is worse? Which one? If you’re the Patriots, do you say, “Ah, we don’t want to do that. We’re going to avoid that thing.” I would say Mahomes would have the ability to put more points up. You want to avoid Mahomes. You want to go to Denver. I just They’re not scoring more than 20 on Mahomes take. I don’t think Mahomes like look I was there I was in the stadium whatever it was 22 months ago when he went into Baltimore and that Ravens team had been destroying everybody and Lamar was the MVP and it was their year and Momes made big throw after big throw after big throw and um they wound up winning the game like going away. I think it was like 23 to 10 or something like that. And it was all because once they had them down M and it wasn’t even like Mahomes throwing for 350 yards. It was like he kept converting third downs and like he just would not let them up off the mat and like so like that to me is like the closest comparison to what the Patriots used to be and like so do you want to face that team or do you want to take your chances with a relatively new program? Denver’s a really tough place to win and it’s not because of the noise I think so much as it is the altitude and all of that stuff but um I’d say yeah I would rather I would take my chances with Denver before Kansas City and I I like watching the Chiefs again they’re not very far off from being where they need to be. The defense is still playing fine. The offensive tackle situation should settle itself. Josh Simmons was getting back in there his first game back this week. He struggled a little. So, do you think they’re making the playoffs? Do you think they’re about to turn a corner? Yeah. But I’ve been saying that for I’ve been on that for a while. I I I’ve been doing it for a while. So, you always said two games. You also played Bert Breer though earlier this week when you said you think there might be some Super Bowl fatigue setting in with that. So, that’s that that to me is the flip side. Like if if I don’t think it’s the roster. Like I think the roster is fine. Like I think you don’t think his receivers are a problem? No. Because I think like their biggest issue is they’re trying to change who they are. They went from being like Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins downfield to they played much more of a possession game after they traded Tyreek and now they’ve tried to lean back into getting the ball downfield. I think they’ve got guys who’ve got the ability to get downfield and they just need to get that part of it right and once they get that part of it right, I think things are going to open up for them on offense. I think the fatigue thing could be real, though, because I counted it up. Um, over the last six years, they’ve played 19 playoff games, which is more than the Patriots ever played in that period of time. They’ve been to five Super Bowls in six years. The Patriots, the most the closest the Patriots came to that was going to five Super Bowls in eight years. Plus, they had a 17g game schedule, which the Patriots didn’t have for the last four years. So now we’re talking about like that’s like 23 extra games. So I do think that there’s a level of damage that you take on doing that. I think there’s a level of damage taken on when you’re everyone’s big game every single week. You’re getting everyone’s best shot. No one’s overlooking you. Like for the Colts, like this is a prove it game for them, right? Like for the Colts, this is a massive game. This is what the Chiefs have to deal with every week, you know? like for the Broncos, like how big was that game for the Broncos on Sunday? Like every single week? And I think there’s I think there I think there is a level of damage that you take on when you’re dealing with that every week. So, uh, yeah. I mean, I the one thing I would be like I had my radar up for is like, do those guys look a little tired and, um, you know, I I think after playing that many games and that many years and, you know, there is a level of fatigue and some damage that you take on. So, that’s something I think that is could be real and you you you should consider um because that’s how three-point wins can become three-point losses, which I think is really the difference between this year and last year for them. So, the corner will be turned by those Chiefs and they could end up here in Fox. I think they’ll be fine. Yeah, I think they’ll get through. Could happen. Uh are the are the Ravens going to turn it around? They have. They’ve won four. No, I mean, is this gonna last? Is this going to be Yeah, I mean like their schedule, if you look at their schedule, I think it’s relatively manageable the rest of the way. U Lamar hasn’t even played that well yet, which like I think he will I feel like they’ve got a much better built-in excuse of they lost their quarterback for a month, he’s coming back off an injury, hasn’t played his best, and they’re rolling. Yeah. Like that is the team I look at and say they’re going to get themselves. It’s not to me it’s not the Chiefs. I think this is the step back here. That’s the team for the the Ravens are the team where it’s like I when I heard people I think I I don’t know I was watching show like maybe a month ago like when I saw like shows doing segments on what’s wrong with the Ravens and the Ravens are I wanted to throw my freaking remote at the screen. It’s like have you seen their inactive list? Like have you seen like at one point they had 20 Pro Bowls and over a hundred million cap dollars on the inactive list. That’s what it I think we talked about that one of our pregame hits going back a couple months ago. Yeah. It was absurd. It was absurd. Yeah. Like what are you talking about? They’re dead. Like if you Also, what other team do you lose your quarterback? And it’s like, you know, everything’s okay. And Oh, well, how come they’re not winning? Well, they lost their quarterback. Why are the Bengals not winning? They lost Joe Burrow. I mean, it’s kind of obvious, isn’t it? Right. The Chiefs did not lose their quarterback. They’ve had their guys. Yeah. So, I think the Ravens the I look at the Ravens as a team that’s like dangerous in that they’re very talented. Um, we haven’t seen it in the playoffs as much from them, but they have been to a conference championship game. Um, so yeah, I mean like I think that this is this season above any else above any other one that I can remember. Yeah. Is like I think about where you are on January 5th. You know what I mean? Like that’s what it is. But however you’re playing where you are at the end of the season, I think the Ravens are going to win the next three before they play the Patriots. I think that Patriots Ravens game is going to be massive. That sucker’s getting flexed. That is going to be a massive game. So then the Bengals will be dead. Yeah. At that point they’re toast. Okay. So at that point they’re eight and five now and they’re actually playing for seating at that point. Yeah. Because the Ravens have the Bengals on the night capper on Thanksgiving night, right? Y Yeah. So, um I mean like I I look at it as like can that help you too? Like I’ve done this long enough to remember years where like a team was in a championship game or a Super Bowl and they would talk about like this period of a month where they lost everybody. It was like, yeah, that was huge for developing depth. You know what I mean? Like or we we had to learn to win different ways and we were forced to when we had those guys on the shelf. So, um, that Ravens team’s obviously very dangerous.

Zolak and Bertrand continue to debate if the #Patriots are better off hosting Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City #Chiefs in the playoffs or traveling to Denver to face Bo Nix and the #Broncos

  1. The chiefs didn't score in the second half of that game and zay flowers fumbled on the goaline idk what breer is remembering. He is such a chiefs and mahomes cheerleader

  2. Cheifs at home. Mahomes and reid are always scary i dont care bout the record. But pats are historically bad In denver. Going back decades. This year that D
    Don't wanna go to Denver

  3. 4-7 in Denver since 2001 (when Brady first became a starter)

0-4 in Denver all time in the playoffs (3 of those with Brady)

You go to Denver, you're basically signing your own death certificate.

  4. Bratt, where do you get your information from?Kansas city played more than the patriots.Did that's twenty three more games, dude? You obviously can't count at all, but at all. They went to fifteen straight a f c championship games.Add that upDummy chiefs aren't even anywhere near that. What they 6 straight a f c championship games. So if you add all that up, buddy, the patriots, tom brady played way more postseason games than patrick mahomes.Think about that dumb dumb, just the stuff that comes out of your mouth.Sometimes I don't even know why.The patriots even put you on there like, why does anybody in new england ask for your input? You just say dumb homer stuff for kansas city. All the time you are a patrick mahomes.Fanboy, you're just a weirdo, dude.Go back to wherever the hell you're from man.I can't stand you.I never could.I don't even know how you are even nationally known for football.Everything you ever say is not right? It's like you don't know the game that you think you know

  5. Brett, you're telling me the kansas city chiefs look tired. They're not just getting old like the defensive front.Okay, listen, dumb dumb again. Here's another stupid thing that came out of your mouth, most of those guys on that offense.Besides two people, three people weren't there last year or the year before the year before the year before? So you're saying two people are tired on that offense, kelsey and patrick mahomes. So everybody's tired because they are dude. The chef stuff that comes out of your mouth is the dumbest stuff.I've ever heard like you're making excuses for kansas city. They're just a bad football team. They're not tired at all. You're such an idiot dude

  6. 😂😂😂SO you basically been owned by the Broncos your who nfl life , even when you had brady broncos would win the goat everytime he came to Denver , So now you your asking a young qb to come to the mile high and winning , lol stop not with Denvers D ..

  7. Denver has a 30% less chance of winning on the road. If the playoffs go through Denver…barring injury we are crushing all these fools in a shocking fashion. They can’t get off the chefs nuts man ain’t nobody worried about the chefs the broncos been on their ass since SP got here. We don’t gaf who we play if we’re in Denver. AB must have bumped his head

  8. Bronco fan here not very smart 🤣 our defense is hellacious hasn’t been a qb we’ve played mvp Super Bowl mvp or mediocre that hasn’t ran for their lives

  9. Disagree, give me the chiefs at home in the snow, in OUR house. Take that every day and twice on Sunday before I’d go to the Mile high Stadium, the pats struggle there big time.

  10. The Chiefs won’t even make the playoffs so stop. Like really…they’re not good this year! Did you not watch the Broncos destroy the Chiefs. They can’t even afford a loss with all the tiebreakers.

  11. Yes let's go to Denver, the team that's beaten both of last years Superbowl teams this season without dropping a game between! Where the home team is acclimated to the altitude, the fans are roaring, and you'll square up against the most suffocating pass rush the league has ever seen, and on the other side of the ball they have an accurate slippery QB who's made more 4th quarter game winning drives than any other QB in the league since he's started, will beat you if you blitz, and can gash you with his legs if you sit in zone
