Seattle Seahawks Keep Making Moves…

All right, the Seattle Seahawks keep making moves and I love it. And if you’re new to the channel, we are Detroit Lions fans, but this channel fully dedicated to teams that just don’t get the love like they should. And so we started talking about the Seattle Seahawks way back when you traded Russell Wilson. And we’ve just kind of kept on talking about you and we loved the success that you had post Russell Wilson when everyone thought that nothing would h good would happen. And then this last off seasonason, it was just like, man, tip tip of a cap to all the all the changes that you made, getting Sam Darnold, trading away DK Medaf, just rebooting your franchise. We love it. So, here are more moves that you made. First of all, just go back a few few days ago, and this is what you saw in the thumbnail there with uh with my guy Henden Hooker. Love that. So the on Tuesday um earlier this week you released people you signed a kick returner wide receiver Brendan Rice son of Jerry Rice. That’s that’s awesome. Son of Seahawks legend Jerry Rice. Nice. Um by the way let me know in the comments like who who was your first favorite player on the Seattle Seahawks? Like who do you remember just first favorite player when you were a kid or when you first became a fan? Let me know in the comments. We do this time to time. It’s just really fun to look at all the comments. I mean, I’m looking at them, but everybody else is looking at them, too. Like, oh yeah, I remember that guy. Especially the less like obvious they are. But anyway, you can put obvious ones, non-obvious ones, but it’s like, “Oh, yeah. I remember that guy. Love that guy as well.” Okay. Then they worked out eight players including Henden Hooker, um, center Doug Kramer. We’ll get to him in just a second. And Jaylen Reager, Brendan Rice, and end up signing a couple of these guys. And so, real quick though, and we’re going to get to the playoffs and the upcoming game that you have, and you’re finished your schedule, but the work out of former Detroit Lions Hooker is interesting because you already have three quarterbacks on the roster, but I just think Hooker, everyone has to be just fascinated with him. Lions release him, goes to the Panthers, Panthers release him, and now here he is where it’s like, dude, you’re you were you were going for the Heisman Trophy just a couple years ago with Tennessee, you get injured, and now you suck. How does that how’s that possible? But here’s the news. You keep making moves because you signed Doug Kramer. Now, we’ve we have really been positive or bullish on the offensive line despite losing your starting center because you’ve got Olu Olu Timmy. We’re Michigan fans here in Michigan. We know all about Olu as being one of the best. He was honestly the best center in college football the year he was with Michigan. Then he gets drafted kind of later in the in the draft. So you’ve got him, but you just Zable might be out. So then your backup center is going there. Now you really have no center if something happens. So that’s what this move is. I think it’s smart. I think it’s great. And again, these are just moves that are under the radar. No one’s really paying attention to these, but this is just like GM work that we don’t pay attention to. We pay attention to the free agency draft stuff like that, but what about in season trying to find these guys? So Kramer’s interesting because he was a sixth round pick of the Bears just a couple years ago. Spent his rookie season on injured reserve, but then the last two seasons he’s appeared in 18 games um then had an injury. So it’s like this is a young guy that was drafted. So it’s it’s not like he’s just a nobody. Just maybe timing with injuries, it might be just perfect to get perfect opportunity to get him in. Okay. Also, I love looking at this. This is just something PFF puts out that it really helps um us understand. Oh, somehow I got logged out of PFF. Thank you, PFF. We’ll get there. Hold on one second to get to the pre premium stuff I was going to show you. All right, doesn’t matter. Okay, AFC standings. Got it. NFC standings. So, right now, this just tells you kind of, man, the top it’s getting topheavy because the Detroit Lions would not be in the playoffs if they started today, which I didn’t really didn’t really realize that. I kind of did, but not until I’m really looking at it. Yikes. Seattle Seahawks sitting there in the fifth seed. Um, they would then be playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Love it. And so you’re just kind of going going to battle back and forth between basically it almost looks like yeah you’d either be in this wild card 567 spot or if you win the division you’ll be up here two three four maybe one. I mean really but it doesn’t matter though. I mean I don’t know maybe I’m just sour because the Lions fought fought fought got the number one seed last year just a juggernaut of a team and then but just I mean just destroyed themselves in the process. estimated injuries and then you know first game they lost. So just get in. Just get in. That’s all we’re trying to do right now and it’s seven teams. So but you you take this over and look at this at your schedule and this is where it kind of gets exciting. Yes, you wanted this one and that’s just how it goes sometimes, but it just shows you this is one of the best teams in the NFC and you were right there. So I was like, okay, it’s what we thought. So it’s no whatever. You know, I mean, I you gotta that happens, but look at these next three games. I think that’s where you have to keep your focus is, oh my gosh, we play the worst team in football. It’s got to be a win. And that’s one of your road games. So, it’s like, okay, fine. Play play the Titans all day long. It’s got to be a win there. And then you come home and play the Minnesota Vikings who the Lions have lost lost to them at home. But th this team JJ McCarthy is just not there. The problem is their defense is so weird and pesky that it just causes problems. So it’s not easy, but you got to find a way to win these next three games. And if you can do that, then you play the Rams again at home Thursday electric. That’s kind of your homefield advantage will just come out in this game. kind of a, you know, prime time game and then finish finish on the road. So, I I I just I think if you’re a Seahawks fan, you you’ve got to be excited about a couple things. Number one, this I’m going to say experiment. That’s not the word. But this just I I’m not fully sure what what’s going to happen here. Sam Darnold, is he good? I don’t know. We traded away DK Metaf. Tyler Lockett, you’re not here anymore. our offensive line. We got Gray Zable, but did we do enough on the offensive line? Defensively, can we continue to do what we’re doing? You know, Ernest Jones, like our secondary is pretty legit, right? We got a lot of guys on on the defensive line, but I don’t know. All those were answered. And now it’s like, oh my gosh, not only can we not only can we win the division, like that’s right, it’s right there. We can get in the playoffs and do something against anybody. Rams, Lions, Eagles, Niners, like we know the guys in our division. We can go play against anybody. Packers, Bears, give me a break. Like honestly, you’re not scared of anybody. I mean, the Lions would be the only team that you’re like, “Yep, respect you.” Same with us, right? Eagles, too, probably. Rams, I mean, there’s a few, I should say. There’s a few, but at the end of the day, you’re one of the teams. You are one of the teams that is going to be good and going to be able to do something. So, Henden Hooker, my gosh, love that. Just making moves, having guys come in, looking at people. I love it. We’re in that stretch run of the season where anything anything’s possible. Uh, you know, injury-wise, you just kind of want to be ready, work guys out, just if if you got to sign somebody. So, let me know your thoughts in the comments, and we’ll see all of you on the next

  1. As a kid, Johnny Unitas and then his back up Earl Morell….I loved the Colts until the Seahawks were born and from that point on….I've been a Hawk fan from day one!

  2. Kenny Easley then Steve Largent then Curt Warner. It was too bad Curt tore up his knee on that cheap Kingdome turf or he would have been one of the best to play at RB.

  3. As a millennial, we didn’t have a really good player till Shaun Alexander, he was my first favorite on the Hawks, I was in HS when he came in. Too young for largeant who was the legend when I was a kid. Seattle sports in the 90’s was dominated by GRIFFEY!

  4. Everybody's answer is Steve Largent if you've been around since the beginning. Mine was too, but mine is Kenny Easley (not just because he just died -RIP. He was drafted in 1981, my jr. year in HS and I loved watching him play at UCLA. They seemed to be on TV a lot, probably because they were pretty good back then IIRC. I even had a pair of powder blue and gold Chuck Taylors with the laces gold in honor of Kenny Easley. Then the Seahawks go and draft him and I was completely mind blown and of course, excited. During that era is when they were really good for the first time and a big part of that was The Enforcer!

  5. For me, it was shawn alexander, and that era of hawks. It was just after I became an adult, and starting watching more sports again. I had started watching sports as a kid, with my brother who was 10 years older then me. Brother had always watched other teams, and wasn't much of a hawk fan
