Houston Texans Just Made The Colts VERY SCARED…

All right. Hey, look, we cover a lot of teams on this channel and one of the teams that we have covered from the very beginning is the Houston Texans. And we fully admit on this channel that we are Detroit Lions fans. We are proud of that. But we love NFL football and we love other teams that we feel like the national media ignores. Nobody gave the Texans a shot in this game. Nobody. All right. Except those who love the Texans. And be honest with me, did you give your team a shot with a backup quarterback going against a Bills team that looks like they had started to figure everything out? They were getting everything right and you were five and five, they were seven and three. Like, did you think you were This was a game, this is the game that most teams play where it’s a measuring stick game when you’re a 500 team and you’re like, can we make a push for the playoffs? I don’t know. Are we for real? I don’t know. and we don’t have our starting quarterback and it goes the other way and all of a sudden it’s like no we can’t win. You won. You won the game and there’s a lot of things that we need to talk about and one of the things we will not talk about is a quarterback competition. There is no quarterback competition. I’m going to explain to you why that is. But before we get into that, let’s talk about the Texans are making the Colts scared now. And we talk about the Colts on this channel, too, because they’re another one of those smaller market teams. And um look, the Colts have had a fantastic year, but the Texans are making them scared now. And we’re going to go ahead and first we’re going to take a second and we’re going to look at this box score. And when we look at this box score, a couple things stick out to me. And I just want to give you a few takeaways. And then I want to get into um I want to get into just all of the other good stuff about why the Colts are going to be scared of the Texans at this moment. For starters, your quarterback was mediocre at best. Most of the times when you see 16 of 30 for 153 yards and two touchdowns with an average of five yards per attempt, that is not a statline that wins a game unless you’re a quarterback in the Big 10 playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes, right? like that is not a stat line that wins a game. But the other big takeaway on this is that I do think the Texans may have the best defense in the NFL. There’s a few defenses that can talk about that. The Texans are one of them. Okay. The Broncos are one of the teams that can talk about one of the best defenses and based on the last few weeks, the Eagles also have a shot at this. Look at Josh Allen. Sure, he’s going to get a little bit of his, right? He’s going to throw for 250 yards. He’s going to run the ball a few times, but no touchdowns through the air. No touchdowns on the ground. He threw two picks. He also was sacked eight times. Eight times. Eight times he was sacked. I just want to be very clear on this. I understand some of those sacks were Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things, running around, being a little reckless. Also, that was happening because your secondary was playing so well. To hold this team to three points in the second half is remarkable. There’s a combined six points. The Bills, there was a moment where the Bills had scored, all right, or they were getting the ball, they scored on a kick return before the end of the first half. and you knew as they were getting that kickoff that they were going to get the ball to end the first half and they were going to start with the ball in the second half and it was like, “Oh no, what’s going to happen?” Well, you answered. They take the kick for a touchdown. You answer on the other side and then you don’t allow them to score at the beginning of the second half. That is what good teams do. That is what good teams do. And that is what was so mightily impressive to me. All right, another takeaway from this game is this man right here, Woody Marks. All right, I guess it didn’t highlight him very well. All right, but Woody Marx, he is your number one lead back right now with a not great offensive line that is getting slightly better. Now, again, the Bills rush defense is very porous. It is not good, but Woody Marks was able to have success. He was able to find holes. He still is a receiving threat. Not so much in this game, but he is your running back and he is your number one back going forward. I know you’ve seen this before with other running backs where you’re like, “Oh, he’s really good and then all of a sudden he’s gone.” Well, the coaching regime is going to stay the same. He is going to be here and he is going to be a good back for you. I don’t think he’s ever going to be a carry the ball 20 to 25 times a game back. I think he’s going to be carry the ball 15 times and find out who the number two back’s going to be, right? who’s going to carry it another five to 10. But Woody Marks can remain effective as a third down back. He can absolutely do that. He can absolutely do that. Had a really good block and pass protection as well that saved Davis Mills life. So now the one thing I want to talk about is why this is bad news for the Colts. Okay. Why is this bad news for the Colts and why are you uh hot on their trail? All right. if we can go ahead and um Oh, well, it’s not going to show the schedule. Um, the Colts have to play you two more times. And when you look at your schedule, two of your remaining six games are against the Colts. Your other four games are at Kansas City, Arizona, Las Vegas, LA. Three of those four are extremely winnable. One of them is very difficult. I’ll let you decide which one’s difficult. And I’ll give you a hint. It’s not LA at LA. I’m not saying that’s an easy game, but I’m not saying you can’t win it either. All right, the Colts play you twice. Their other remaining games, their four other remaining games. All right, are or five other remaining games at this point. They play Jacksonville twice, they play San Francisco, they play at Seattle, and they play at Kansas City. That’s harder. That it’s just harder. All right, they have uh Jacksonville has proven that they’re a formidable team. San Francisco is a playoff team right now if the playoffs were starting. The only teams that they play on this are Jacksonville and you that wouldn’t be current playoff teams and Kansas City, but Seattle is. San Francisco is like they are they have a more difficult schedule going up and they have to face your defense. They have to face your defense two times. That is not going to be easy. All right, so now let’s talk about what people are saying. All right, Mills said his expectation is that Straoud is going to get his job back. Duh. All right. Now, Davis Mills has played well enough. He has done exactly what you would hope a backup quarterback in the NFL does. He has come in and he has played well enough and hasn’t made any major mistakes in order to lose a football game for the Texans. He has kept them afloat. He has allowed this team to flex its muscles on the defensive end and continue to be excel on the defensive end and he’s just not getting in the way. That doesn’t mean that he should be your starting quarterback. CJ Stout can do these things as well. And by the way, just other little things that Stra can learn from and that are going well, right? Davis Mills didn’t get sacked in this game. That means the offensive line is improving and if the offensive line can continue to play at a high level, it’s going to be fine. But here’s Davis Mills quote. He said, “In my current situation, I don’t think there’s a competition. CJ’s the starter for this team. I’m just doing everything I can to bring my best foot forward every day. Love sports. Make everyone else around me better and try to play my role to the to my best ability when I get thrown in there.” Like how many footballisms can you say in one quote? All right, doing the best I can, my best foot forward. Um, I’m trying to make everyone around me better and do my role to the best of my ability. Like, and there’s not a competition. Like, it’s hilarious. All right. No, there’s not. There’s not. All right. You just hope CJ Stout can be healthy because CJ Strad has a different gear that he can bring it to that you’re going to need down the stretch and you’re going to need if you make the playoffs. So, be very excited. It was a rough start to the season, but it’s fun to watch how good this defense is, and you realize very quickly you’re just a better offensive line away from being a very legitimate Super Bowl contender. But the offensive line’s getting better. Add a couple pieces in the offseason. Look out. All right. Thanks for watching.

  1. No they didn’t: they are scared of the Jaguars because they know the Jaguars have them for the last decade whilst being awful and they’re vastly improved.

Stop the Houston love – they’re half a team at best and Jacksonville is very good at every level

  2. The advice that coaches have been giving CJ versus pressure — play the quick game, throw the ball away, run out of bounds, don't pile up those hits — Allen should have heeded as well. His OC did not have a counter. Glad to see CJ on the sidelines learning from the game.

  3. I’m a Texans fan, but but I gotta confess: I thought the Bills would win & cover. I knew the D was good, but the extent to which they harassed and contained JA surprised me.

  4. If KC beats the Colts Sunday at home… that sets up Texans vs Colts next week. If we beat the Colts… it will come down to week 18 Colts @ Houston for the division and possible miss playoff for the loser.

I think we’re headed towards that

  5. Hell yeah, I was hoping the Texans would draft David Mills out of Syracuse. I think he's good, not C J good, but give 'em a couple of years…

  6. Quarterback comment nobody is wanting to replace CJ we're wanting him to get mature and become stable and despondent less after he put under pressure are things don't go his way but please don't disrespect Mills he saved our season along with our defense

  7. Colts fan here…..but I'm no Texans hater. I can appreciate the sentiment here for sure. If YOU don't believe then who will? There's healthy respect for your team over here, truly. That wasn't given, it has been earned. The Colts are focused on the Chiefs at the moment…..they're locked in. To opine that the Colts, the unquestioned #1 offense in football, bi-week included, are more worried about your Texans with a healthy Pitre is funny. To me these 2 games will be a 50/50 toss up…..no matter who is playing on either side of the ball for either team. I'm looking forward to them. Good luck Texans!

  8. texan here: stroud has been awful this season. davis comes in with the same offense and is putting up better numbers especially in the red zone where they are the worst in the league. i say ride davis till the end. stroud needs to be traded.

  9. THANK YOU! I read the articles this morning & Mills said it himself: CJ is the starting QB, he's the backup. I am sick of the "controversy" that folks are trying to invent because there isn't one (just fair-weather fans bitching about Stroud because they're impatient). Texans fans are freaking lucky in that they have TWO competent QBs when some teams barely got ONE. They just need to fix a few things up in their own playing, and can compare notes.
Stroud & Mills have the opportunity to learn from each other and improve each other's game if they work together. And why not use 'em both like in weeks 4 and 5: CJ Starting, Mills finishing each game? I'd love to see that.

  10. As far as I can tell Davis Mill had better stats than MR MVP. I mean this was a very tight game and we should not expect "Madden 26" stats lol

  11. I’m glad this channel can recognize us when we do great things. YES WE KNEW WE HAD A CHANCE. WE ARE EASILY THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE. We aren’t just trying be the best in the league this year. We are trying to be the best defense in the last 25 years
