“PRESCOTT GONNA DESTROY HURTS!” – ESPN MAKES BOLD PREDICTIONS FOR COWBOYS vs. EAGLES! COWBOYS NEWS

This is our next stop. The Cowboys host the Eagles on Sunday, trailing them by three and a half games in the standings in the East. CD Lamb and Dak Prescott talking about the stakes in this matchup against their longtime rival. We could treat this as if we’re in the playoffs if you want to if you want to think of it that way. Um, win or go home. I feel like that’s the situation that we in. And I feel like that’s the right mindset that we got to have going into every game. I like the CD said it’s like a playoff game and whether Shotty at 0 or however you want to think about it, all of these are must win, but we got to take them one at a time. Um, and right now it’s Philly, hell of an opponent, great division rival. Um, and nowhere no better place to start than right now. All right, so let’s look ahead to this monster game on Sunday that will determine so much including just how entertained we are by Thanksgiving and everything else with the Cowboys. Bart, you’re my resident defensive guru here. So, one of two things happened on Monday night. Either this new look Cowboy defense with the new faces, the players they acquired, the players they got back healthy is much better or the Raiders are so bad that we can’t take anything from it. Which is it? Both can be true. Okay, you know, absolutely is. I tell you what, when you talk about securing the interior part of this defensive line, you talk about Quinn and Kenny Clark, you know, you got interior pressure where guys can’t step up. Like people forget just how dominant a player Quinnon is. Not only is he dominant gets a run, but he’s a guy that gives you pass rush from the inside. Couple of years ago, he had 12 sacks. He doesn’t have anybody next to him. But now that also makes him a plus multiplier. Look at that. Where are you going to step up from? And you talk about on the outside with clowning. You talk about Fowler as well. This is a recipe for success because now you have an adult behind you manning the coverage and Logan Wilson that can control sideline to sideline, but also get guys lined up and be able to be responsible in the pass game as well. If Bland can step up and just give you a little bit of defense, then that gives you impact players at every level and with this offense that the Cowboys have, you’re going to be able to pin your ears back and be able to rush the passer. So that’s the flip side of it. The Eagles defense we know is great and they have held in consecutive weeks Green Bay and Detroit good offensive teams to basically nothing. Does Dak and do Dak and CD and Pickkins and them can they put up points against this Eagles defense? Oh yeah, because we know if I’m Dallas, I’m getting into my three wide receiver sets and I’m finding somebody who’s not Quinnon Mitchell or Cooper. I’m finding them. Yeah, I’m just that’s that I’m going to continuously hunt that. What we’re talking We’re talking about the Eagles will have a weak spot in their secondary and the Cowboys might be able to take advantage of Absolutely. They did in week one. They just didn’t catch the football and it’s not really changed. Now the the pass rush with the addition of Jaylen Phillips has gone up. But if you’re Dallas and you have multiple receivers and a tight end that can continue to create matchup problems, you’re just searching that person out and it’s trying to find them and trying to find different ways to get him the football. I talked yesterday cuz here’s the thing that Dallas is doing. George on one side, CD on the other. So I I if you want to take Quinnon and put him over there versus Pickkins, God bless you. Cool. I I don’t need to throw it to him. Now I have CD Lamb CD Lamb opposite him. Is it Cooper? Is it Adora or Jackson? I’m just searching where where Dory Jackson is and continuing to try to find completions that way. I’m not breaking news here when I tell you that the Dallas offense can score a ton of points, whoever’s on defense, and they had a ton of yards against the Eagles in week one. The issue is going to be with this Eagles team. If the the if the pot is now right now like sizzling right now, what if they actually lose this game to Dallas? Everything feels like, okay, there’s so much drama, but we win. There’s so much strife, but we win. If the Cowboys take care of business and beat the Eagles, like that’s when the dysfunction part starts really building. It’s like, okay, it was one thing when we were winning, but now if our defense can’t bail us out and Dallas’s offense puts all these yards on us, now we’re looking in the mirror and saying, “Now what? We still have half a season left to go.” So, I agree with that. I still they’ll be fine. But here’s what has to happen for Philly in this game. This game will come down to Philly’s offense and Jaylen Herz. Okay, Philadelphia philosophically has to say, “Jaylen, it’s your season. Last year it was Saquin’s year. Hey, last year they rode Saquon. They have to ride Jaylen Herd. Have you seen any indication in the first 12 weeks of Philly offensive coaching staff wants to put the ball in Jaylen’s hand and say, “Jaylen, it’s your seat.” No, but I’m telling you guys right now, Kevin Patulo, Nick Serriani, you have to put the ball in Jaylen’s hands on early bounds. You This isn’t the Saquon le offense. This is not the same run game that on first down last year you can hand it off and get seven yards. You have to throw the ball on first down. If Philly wants to win this game, you throw the ball on first down. The Cowboys are going to line up in the same coverage on first down every single play if you’re running the same stuff that that they have to turn the the the thought process over to we are going to have be a a Jaylen Herz let offense, not a Saquon le offense. See, this is a fascinating conversation. So, I turn to my wide receiver and I say there probably isn’t a game you could have in the NFL where you would have better wide receiver matchup. You got on one side you got Pickkins and Lamb and they’re flying high. On the other side, you’ve got Devonte Smith and AJ Brown, and it says on our screen, they were 20 They are 28th in passing in the NFL. I I it it doesn’t make any sense. What do you expect Sunday? It it it doesn’t make sense, but I I will say this. I think the Dallas Cowboys offense, they’re going to be so ferocious that it puts that much pressure on Jaylen Herz and that offense to have to score. Will they do it? I don’t think so. I don’t think so right now. I I I really don’t. You think if the game goes in the hands of Jaylen Herz the way Dan is saying put it in his hands, you think that works against the Eagles best? I I do because you’re you’re asking him to do something that he’s not accustomed to doing on a on a consistent basis. What? Like throw the football over the middle of the football field, be consistent and making plays and and every every one of their wins how many blowout wins does Philadelphia have this season? Very few. 15 points last week, but they did beat Minnesota through the air and that was a very good pass defense. And the game plan in that game was Jaylen Herz, you take us. And he threw for 34. It was the one game only. It was an outlier. I’m telling you guys, if you put I’m If you put two tight ends on the field, Philadelphia, on first down, and you run play action, Dallas will line up in the same coverage all the time and you will gut them. The Raiders did it last week. The Raiders did it. They just didn’t do it enough. But here’s the thing. Without the threat of Saquon Barkley, I don’t care about your play action. If I’m a linebacker, if I’m Logan Wilson, I don’t care. I’m not buying up to that because I believe my tackles, my defensive tackles can handle that because they’re one and a half men. You mean to tell me you’re not scared of Saquon Barkley on first down? Hell no. We’re going to find out two things. Who is Saquon? He hasn’t himself this year. But Dan Dan is afraid. Trust me. Well, we’re going to find out two things. We’re going to find out is that Cowboy defense really much better? And if the Eagles are forced to throw it, can they do it? No. Lane Johnson is huge. Yes, that’s what I’m saying. wasn’t playing without light. I’m light box. So much to look forward to in an because he wasn’t playing football. Yeah, I think I think that might have been my fourth year playing organized football when we played that game. That that was going yet. I was going into my fourth year of playing organized football. Two years in high school, retro year in college. Yeah, it’s crazy. Wild. All right, this weekend Eagles Cowboys 8-2 Eagles number one seed in the NFC. 45 and one Cowboys still hovering. Um, remember there was a reporting that there was the big meeting between AJ Brown set up by Dom, Big Dom, and this the head of security for the Eagles and I I don’t know, culture builder, I guess I will say, um, and the owner of the team, Jeffrey Lori, and how all right AJ Brown maybe fairly has all these issues with the team, etc., etc., and he was going to kind of quiet it down a little bit this year. He’s not the rest of the season. He’s not going to really talk about all this stuff. He’s going to keep it in house. It’s interesting. AJ Brown was asked yesterday about whether or not he’s the not the same player anymore as he was in the past. AJ, there was a AJ, there was a report that there was some frustration from players on offense. Jaylen Herz, do you pay a lot of attention what other receivers do like what makes CD so gets me upset? So I stay away from it. No, but I I mean it’s a time and place for it, you know. I think uh right now like I’m just trying to stay focused on I can’t say this ain’t play. I don’t care. Y’all don’t believe that. Okay. He said, “I guess Seaquin is not the same player anymore either.” That’s kind of the great That’s the money cut that came out of that. It’s great. What’s happening here? How How should we be taking this in when he is sitting there saying, “Well, if you’re saying I’m not the same player, well, neither is Saquon.” How How do we take this? Well, yeah. People aren’t asking whether or not Saquin is capable of being the same player. Everybody just assumes that it’s something off with the offense. Maybe it’s the play caller. Maybe it’s the injury along the offensive line that are affecting the productivity of Saquon Barkley. But with AJ Brown, he doesn’t get that benefit of the doubt as a player. They see the decline in the production and they automatically jump to the place that he’s not the same player when everybody knows that he is. And if you don’t believe it, just go back and watch the LA Rams game film. The dude was absolutely dominant. AJ Brown, when he gets the ball in his hands, can do really special things. He is a top five receiver in our league and he’s got five. Now, the question that I have is how long will this continue to go before we get to the place of this Eagles team being more like the 2023 Eagles versus the Eagles that we saw in 2024 because there is a ton of noise around this team. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the questioning around whether or not AJ Brown is the same player comes out the same week that everybody is criticizing the quarterback Jaylen Herz and speculating around whether or not he’s out there calling his own shots, calling his own plays Willie Beaman style as as opposed to adhering to what Kevin Patulo and Nick Serriani want him to do when it comes to the structure of the passing game. So, there are a lot of difficult questions and it feels like nobody in Philly has answers as to how to get everyone on the same page. Well, if we’re looking for answers, let’s look at the numbers because what AJ Brown is saying, we may not like the manner in which he’s delivering the message, but it’s not a dross argument, Philly. Dross we’re in Madison. I’m not going to pick up on the word of the day. It’s not a dross argument. Come on, Smalls. She gave me a look at you. You’re so much better than this. Embarrassed by this. You’re embarrassing yourself all week. You’re so much better than this, CeCe. It means worthless. How else would you have used it? It’s not a worthless argument. You know, you weren’t looking at me. And the moment you said it means worthless, you start looking at me. I remind you of worthless. Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. I’m giving you the definition of dross. Okay. And the argument that he’s making is not worthless. It’s not something to be considered trivial or of low quality. If you actually look at the numbers, Philly ranks 25th in total yards per game, 25th in passing yards, and 29th in third down conversion rate. He says, “Oh, if I’m not the same player, what about Saquon?” The Eagles are averaging 115 rushing yards per game, which is 17th in in the NFL. Last year, they were second, 179 per game. So, he’s saying, if you’re going to say this about me based on the numbers and the output, what about him? because look at what he was able to do last year and we know what he’s capable of and the numbers are not there for him this year. But that’s an easy answer. Why aren’t you guys saying Seaquin? Cuz he’s not saying anything. That’s why. No, I get it and I understand if I’m if I’m Jeffrey Lori, if I’m Howie Roseman, if I’m the Eagles, I want him to do I want him to be Belichian. I’m on to the next game. Whatever the next game is, I’m on to the next game. So he should So he should just suffer in silence. Like that’s the part that that bothers me a little bit with this Smalls because everybody wants to go to the place of demonizing AJ Brown. And I don’t know that he’s not voicing the sentiment of other players within their locker room. Just other guys don’t have the cache or it’s not their personality to put it on wax in front of the media for the whole world to see. Here’s the thing that AJ Brown AJ Brown could be thinking of Smalls and and I think it’s it’s something that Nobody has has seemed to say, but AJ Brown could be the guy in the locker room that’s afraid that this Eagles team could be reminiscent of the team that we saw from the Kansas City Chiefs last year. win a ton of one-score games, closely contested, but everybody’s giving you the benefit of the doubt because of your championship pedigree only to get to the championship rounds and get smoked. It could be that, too. And and Mike Greenberg from Get Up this week said the Eagles are begging for somebody to beat them. When you couple that with the fact that there’s a narrative around out there that the quarterback could potentially be freestyling, you could understand why the wide receiver who’s dependent on the quarterback to do his job would be frustrated. And yet nobody seems to want to talk about it. And everybody wants to seem to brush it under the rug because the team keeps winning. It doesn’t mean that just because you win that you don’t have things that you have to work on and improve in order to get to the ultimate goal. So I I am a Serriani fan. CC you have been critical of Sirriani. Also have praised him, but have been critical of Sirani. And I was thinking about this as you guys were talking. I wonder if this is not another inflection point for you and others that are questioning or have questioned Siri. Here’s why. They don’t have a way about them with the Eagles. And the reason that AJ Br stands out is because he’s the only one talking, right? Jaylen Herz doesn’t talk. Saquon doesn’t talk. Think about you brought up Bichc, not me. Believe it or not, when you get to the Patriots, no matter how much you talked prior, you’re agreeing to not talk as much now. When you get to a team like the Rams, right, nobody talks negatively, but like they encourage be yourself, go talk, have fun, Shawn McVey, new school, all that kind of stuff. Not in a bad way, but like we want our players to have a voice and and have opportunities. It it’s not aligned with Philadelphia. Yeah. AJ stands out not cuz he’s wrong or right, but because he’s the only one talking. But there’s a difference between having a voice and using that voice to rip your teammates and rip your offensive approach, which he continues to do whether it’s right or Well, go ahead. Yeah. I don’t Has he ripped his teammates? I don’t think he’s ripping Jaylen Herz a little bit. No. No. I don’t think he’s ripping Jaylen Herz. I don’t think he’s pointing Jaylen Herz out of it. I think he’s talking about the issues that they have in the passing game and how they’re not using him. I think if anything, he’s ripping the coaching staff, the OC, and the head coach. I I throughout any of his comments, I haven’t gotten anything where he’s ripping any of his teammates. If somebody has something, please go ahead and give it to me cuz I I Let me reframe that. That’s totally fair, CeCe. And let me reframe that. Maybe not ripping his teammates, but suggesting that he is unhappy with the state of things within his organization. And either way, whether you’re ripping your teammates or not, you’re saying, “I don’t like what’s going on here. It can be better.” And when you do that once, okay, when it’s consistent like this, you’re putting a lot of other people in a precarious position. And I don’t know how it’s additive towards a solution. Eagles, Cowboys, Sunday afternoon, all of a sudden, it’s always big, but it just got bigger because now we’re going to not only keep an eye on AJ Brown’s numbers, but keep an eye on Saquon Barkley’s numbers as well. All right, coming up, two first place teams matching up this weekend. Yet, could the loser actually not make the playoffs? We’ll discuss next. That’s what on sportsman like presented by Progressive Insurance. We’re a dozen weeks in week 12 NFL picks, no international games, four teams on buys, including the Broncos and the Chargers in the AFC West. We’ve got Colts Chiefs on CBS. Yes. Both on Not because I think I think Shador Sanders gets his first win this week. I think he wins, too. That would be a first. Browns quarterbacks 0 and17 in their first career starts since returning to the NFL in 99. The guy that used that seat right there is one of them. He’s one of the Brady. Brady’s doing great. Yeah, he was over though. Uh let’s go to He wasn’t doing great. 5 Eastern time. Both on the Browns, by the way. Okay, Pete, were you ever in the locker room? I can hear it now. Eagles and Cowboys. Eagles are winning games with great defense. Cowboys winning games by outscoring teams. This is a this is a really fun matchup of offense versus defense. Yeah. And look, they’ve done a great job on defense. Adding Jaylen Phillips really gives them another body up front that can go get the quarterback and he’s made plays since he’s been there. It gives you the one-on-one opportunities when you have Jaylen Carter in the middle of that defense and Jordan Davis in the middle of that defense. So, I love what they’ve done on defense. I’m worried about the Eagles offense. I’ll be honest with you. And you there’s some reports coming out of Philly that there’s concern about Jaylen Herz. I don’t know if you guys have seen them. Some guys that are well placed well sourced in that around that area have come out and said there’s some concern with Jaylen Herz and he just hasn’t looked that good. What kind of concern? Like he’s not playing the ball the way they want. Issues are throwing the football down the field. Noice not looking very big. Yeah. No, just concerns about his play. Not not his not being injured. Is he is he he needs to step it up? And you know what doesn’t concern me? the fact that he has gone to and outplayed arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of our game in the Super Bowl. The biggest game on the planet. I mean, this football the Eagles football team Nick Fos did the Eagles football team have two wins or two losses rather. They have two losses in Philly. Two losses. Not tripping. Not tripping. But so Nick Fos once outplayed Tom Brady. The issue is Lane Johnson. The issue is Lane Johnson. Yeah. Yeah. Not him not being there is big. Lane Johnson out of your lineup changes the identity of your run game. It changes the consistency in with in which you can have clean pockets. You can just shut one-on-one down with 65 and handle the rest with the other four. They don’t have that luxury right now. But I still am going to be picking the Eagles here. I don’t think it has to be close either. And the and the data when Lane’s in the lineup and when he’s not in the lineup is incredible how much better they are offensively. So that is a concern. I I like Dallas in this. It’s like the war rating in baseball, right? Like you know how many wins above your replacement. Yeah. By the way, I I think Dallas getting those guys back on defense, getting Quinnon Williams in the middle of that defense really changes who they they had six new guys playing. You know, Overshan was back. He’s a big part of He’s one of my favorite players in the league. Love him. And he’s playing with a giant brace on his knee, but he still was able to get after the football. I I think this is a great spot for the Cowboys. And I’m taking the Cowboys. By the way, Dak Puscott, I think they win. I And And I think they win the game. You don’t need the points. You can take the Cowboys. I got your I got your peacup right out there. I think Dak Prescott’s playing at such a high level right now and not getting the credit he deserves. Everybody, oh well, he’s getting, you know, they have to. They have to throw the football around. He was fantastic on Monday night. I think he’ll play well here. I’m taking the Cowboys. I think we let CD Lamb and and George Pickkins run the street Saturday night. Why not? Look what they did after the fact, right? Why not? Let him breathe. Let him let him loose. Let him do his thing. Doesn’t he show up and play? NFC South, Falcons Saints, New Orleans,

  1. All these trays deals and all this stuff going on it reminds me of the Herschel Walker trade everybody remembers what happened next within two years they were in the Super Bowl back to back Super Bowl wins, and then another Super Bowl in 95. I’m praying that this will be a new cowboy teambecause they do have a lot of talent just saying.
