The NBA Has A Franz Wagner PROBLEM..

Fron Vagner, man, I’m telling you, he just played the perfect game. He had 37 points on 68% shooting, seven assists along with just one turnover. Are you kidding me? And all of a sudden, the Magic are seven and three in their last 10 games. And man, oh man, he’s a powerful driver. Notice he locates that dangling arm of Mitchell Robinson. He goes right into it and goes through it like a running back. Mitchell Robinson’s a strong dude, but there you just couldn’t tell. Great offensive rebound by Goa. Two defenders on him. So nice behind the back. And now he has the ISO. Based on his body language, Josh Hart got to be thinking he’s driving left. So the counter spin just works to perfection. And when he’s hitting this shot, you might as well call it a day. And as you can tell, the Knicks are willing to live with this shot. Mitchell Robinson giving him tons of airspace. so smartly he just eats it up and gets deep into the paint and relies on a shot that he’s confident in. It turns out he’s shooting 2.8 floaters per game. That’s 97th percentile and he’s making 48.9% of them 60th percentile. He was roasting and toasting Mitchell Robinson this time in transition relying on the left hand. He’s just too quick for him. And in transition he’s a scary sight. It turns out he’s averaging 1.54 points per possession in transition. That’s good for 95th percentile. So, he’s one of the best options in the open floor after a turnover or a missed shot. And this is where his versatility comes into play. He’s a big body, so you can use him as a screener. He decks Mikuel Bridges. And now Josh Hart’s stuck in a one-on- two situation. He picks Jaylen Suggs and it’s game over. As I said, versatility. Now he’s the ball handler in the pick and roll and he’s picking up speed attacking downhill but then all of a sudden he dels Euroep Josh Hart then switches back to him so he dumps it off to Goa and it leads to a bucket and now here it seems like the Knicks are playing his own defense but not everyone on their team is. He goes to the middle smartly draws two and finds the open man Goa. And when I saw this shot you knew he was feeling it. He caught it on the move fading back a bit. There’s a contest. That’s unbelievable shotmaking and that just shows his confidence right now. The second half, as you can see, Nick still disrespecting his shot with Robinson on him. So, he just keeps his dribble alive trying to hunt out Brunson. Doesn’t work. No problem. Fading away spin move into the weak hand hook shot. As you can tell, he’s fully comfortable finishing with his left. And after that, he was just on cloud9. He was really feeling it. So, he’s like, “Thank you for this disrespect. I’ll take this three-pointer. Look at the immediate quick decision. High IQ play. So, he’s running off that screen, but he’s not using it. But guess what? Mitchell Robinson is worried about him using it. So, right when he catches, go to the left, burst the speed as quick as you possibly can, and he beats him to the rim. Tight game in the fourth quarter. The Magic are going to the Desmond Bane and Vagner as a screener. Twoman game. He does a ghost screen. Josh Hart switches. So, guess what? Desmond Bane does what Fron did on the last play. catch. Quick decision. Go to the basket as fast as you can. Next possession, same exact thing. Earlier in the video, I called him a powerful driver. Look at him bump Mitchell Robinson back. Are you kidding me? Ample space created and it’s good. I really like their fourth quarter offense. Jonathan Isaac screening for Bane now. Psych. He’s actually screening for Vagner. The Knicks are just as surprised as us. Wide open three. Back to the versatility. He can grab the rebound. Bring it up like a freaking point guard. The defense is so worried about him because he’s as hot as can be. And now it leads to a wideopen butt naked open three. He took over in the fourth quarter. The last play he shows off another fading left hook shot. My thing with Fron that I think is holding him back is his unselfishness at times. on a night in night out basis. You don’t know if you’re getting roleplayer Vagner or you know star Fron Vagner. There have been games in crunchtime where he doesn’t get the rock. And I’m just like what are we doing? You’re giving Anthony Black this Crunchtime possession instead of Fron freaking Vagner. And that’s not just on the coach, it’s also on Fron. You got to demand that basketball. I’m telling you, nobody is going to be mad at him if he does in fact demand the basketball whenever. At some point, he’s going to realize, “Oh, nobody can stop me when I’m ultra aggressive.” And once that happens consistently, he’s going to be an all-star for years to come. His biggest improvement this season is getting to the foul line. 7.6 free throws per game. His previous careerhigh happened last season, 5.2. He’s currently ranked 12th in the league for free throws per game. And the thing is, he’s hitting 83% of them. And that’s just such a lethal combination. He’s such a large body. When he’s assertive, aggressive, no one can handle him. What a performance. Let me know your thoughts below in the comments section.

  1. LOL, the Warriors front office and coaching staff WANTED Franz Wagner. The Warriors owner WANTED Jonathan KumingAss. The same owner also WANTED James Wiseman in the prior draft. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. ITS FUNNY HOW MOST people think Franz is better than Paolo! ITS TRUE HE IS! But Paolo IS BETTER IN THE PLAYOFFS WHERE IT MATTERS is why the magic need them both! But this run by Franz if he doesnt get the exact injury again will make him an ALL STAR!

  3. Letting others have the ball in crunch time is a smart decision early in the season. There are a number of potential clutch players on the team. They need to have their opportunities to proove themselves and get confidence and trust. It makes the team unpredictable and just better in the long run.

  4. Hey Romp, can you do a video explaining why the Magic are 7-3 w/out Paalo on the floor? I keep seeing people saying that Franz is their best player and I love both of these guys. I have always believed in Paalo & need to see why it's not working when both of them are on the floor. Keep up the awesome videos as usual, thanks.

  5. Banchero is a very good player, no doubt. But Franz is playing winning basketball and should be the #1 option. I'd even consider trading Banchero next summer because you'd get a boat-load of value in return. Maybe Giannis or LaMello?

  6. PB is not a BallHog but he is a poor decision maker, He also gambles a lot of Defense to get defensive stats..But they shouldn't give up on PB, He has the right mindset and he is young..He needs to Identify his strenght/weaknesses

  7. The team is obviously better when they play as a complete team rather than operating around one guy, in this case Paulo. But Franz man.. the dude just racks up numbers without ever standing in a spotlight.
