Guy ghosts for a year and a half and is half the reason our centre depth is shit, but yeah, we owe HIM the apology now that he’s been back for a month.
He plays hard, and I have pretty much no issues with his game this season. Should he be scoring more and being more of an offensive threat, considering his contract? Yes. But what he lacks in offence, he makes up for defensively most of the time. If I had a list of problems with this team right now, EP40 is not on it.
When you’re paid to be a franchise player in a big market, and you underperform for a meaningful period of time… You are going to be criticized, and you don’t really get to make excuses when you don’t perform.
On the flip-side of that coin, when you *do* perform the exact opposite of that is true and you get the praise & recognition that comes with being a franchise player in a big market.
Props to them for saying that.
I also owe him an apology. I was hard on him and wrote him off. I don’t think he’s the same player but he’s adjusted his game to account for that.
