So he’s straight up process orientated rather than results orientated. I guess we will never see him be like “scoreboard” and point up to an undeserving win or anything like that
I coach, and I get where he’s coming from to a point.
I’m certainly not a highly technical coach, and I think teaching my team to live in the chaos is important. But I’ve gotten more joy from well played losses than poorly played wins.
Had a three point win on the weekend which left me feeling cold.
But…once you hit playoffs, it becomes results over process to a large degree. And I certainly have a quiet moment of joy when we win, even if we won ugly.

I know Joe is an odd guy, but I actually love what he’s saying here. He’s just laser focused on his craft, which is coaching. Results don’t necessarily dictate if a coach has done his job to the highest degree.
