Winnipeg Jets vs. Minnesota Wild – Game Highlights
Wilder 44-1 on the road. They’re coming off a five nothing shut out at Pittsburgh on Friday and Winnipeg is 6-4 at home. Now packed right back in by Marcus Fino game 897 of his career. Jets are on the move with Jonathan Taves. Had a chance to tie late against the Hurricanes. Shot right on by Miller and Taves couldn’t finish. Ninfist has been good the last couple of games. That shot tipped on goal, stopped by Valstead and finally Ogran will lift that out. And I mentioned off the top how offense usually starts in the defensive zone. That’s exactly the story of this last shift. It was a beautiful exit. Jonathan Taves had a lot to do with that and then his line gets three separate chances because of it. Morgan Baron strong off the rush. Hot shot loose in front. Poked right back to Baron. He’ll send it back. Dylan Samber. Neil Pon thought about a shot and then just played it safely to the corner. 315 gone. Baron getting some assistance from Cole Keepy. The motan. drops his shoulder. Kept against Spurgeon. Back to the blue line again. Samberg peock shot and fought off there by Valstead who was struggling to see that puck coming. Need a rider picks it up in the corner. Plays it back. Morsy, they move it quickly. Taves to Nether Rider. He’ll turn. Shoots it. Ball step. Stick that one away. They’re playing off of each other nicely so far. He’s the one point in his last eight. Driving the net gate shot stopped by the glove of Yesper Valstead as Valardi was looking for his third in the last two. 30-year-old Nico Sturve that’s sent right in on Conry. Played it awkwardly and he had to make another save and lost track of that puck somehow. Dlo hands it off. Nike riding to the hash marks. Shoots through a crowd. Stopped by Bald. Good hustle by Nita Ryder. Now Baldi from a standstill. He’ll creep to the dot. Dishes it over the pass for Beamer with a drive and a glove save by Coy. Good start. Not a lot of whistles in the opening 10 minutes. William Pitlick related onto the left side. Shot by Oren turned away. Actually Ben Jones the former Golden Knight carried right back in. William Fann on it and it’s picked up there by Dylan Samberg. A nice little shift for Minnesota that their fourth line gets out. Some straight line work to spend a little bit more time in the offensive zone. Incrementally they feel like they’re getting better. Adam Lowry getting healthy. Hasn’t hurt that at all. That shot tipped in front. Brol just wide on the rebound as Sterm went right to the front of the goal. Middleton, former shark and a king grab pick melo could get it past Capri off. Good passel whipped that one wide and a big bounce off the backboards. Morsy will grab that one on the boards and move it back where Shankley Connor looking to get free in front if he can. He gets loose, shoots it. Boy, that those two are just joined together telepathically. Broken up by a pregame home stand for the Jets. You got all your laundry done from the last one yet, buddy? I do not. I was going to ask you if you’d help with that. Veretti shoots and stabbed by ballstack. It’s kind of one of those jackab trades. So, he’s played a lot over 500 games experience. Important hockey and they’re going to rely on him now. High follow. Couldn’t pick it up the middle with a smart pass ahead. Here comes Morgan Baron. Sharp angle. Shot it right on goal. Cole Keepy bodied by [Applause] Rodin doing the same to Valardi as the four players go after it and it’s Baron walking out to the backand he tried to stuff it in and a rock solid ball stat says no way Rodin at his own blue line 10th overall pick way back in 2011 Jonas Broadin this is your off shot sent him back to his right ball stat drops it Guess Volstead the 20th pick in 2021. Conor with the turnover. Right on. And Volstat with his biggest save of the period. This played it a little bit, but no harm done. Here’s Valardi snapping it through. Rebound. Shley turns and fires. Best off. He got it again and put it on goal and it’s on the line and didn’t cross. The ref was right there and wedded it off. Face off. You win the face off. So important. Look at that. Nothing fancy, right? You’re a skilled line that wants to make skilled plays, but sometimes it’s just two to the net. Make sure the puck gets there. Balardi makes sure he’s in high ice. He receives it from Samberg. He does that and then what comes? Chaos. One chance turns into two and the Winnipeg Jets come that close right there on the back door. Oh man, Polardi nearly fel moved it on for Middleton. Delays. Pretty good pass back. Shot by Felo. Stopped by Comry as he came out to make the save. Peter Ryder protects but Trenon will take the puck away. Trenon working along the inboards. A shot. They score. You’re off alone in front and for the 12th straight game, the Wild have scored the game’s first goal. And you could argue that the Jets would have deserved this multiple times to have the game’s first goal. We just saw the chance from Valardi dance across the line, but this is a big heavy third line Felino Trenan. And they’ve kind of switched it up. They brought Yurov down. He was centering the top line. He’s a big body and that’s big boy hockey from Dlo and mans the puck. Apollo swept that on goal and reaching down and securing it. Shley a backhand pass off the boards to Connor. He couldn’t get free, but an excellent setup nonetheless. Connor ladles it back. Dlo now Samberg shoots right on and it’s held by Volstead. One- nothing Minnesota. Zukarelloo accepts the pass and motors into the zone. Capri off trying to send it on. It was blocked. Stopped by Comry as Zukarelloo found a loose puck. Stanley got the loose puck first but not going to end. Now kicking it up the ice is Nestnikov. Nice move. Nestnikov backhand. Rebound. Forsy couldn’t find it. Now he does raising eyebrow raising shift. He’s gone eight games without a point. Prior to that he had goals in three straight. On the back hand he challenges Ball step. Ball step behind the net. He’ll try to clear it himself. A bouncing puck grabbed by Petty. Set it through. Tipped just wide by Domestic. That was good shift Vsticov. Two quality chances in the shift alone. Matt Baldi. 13 goals so far. He’ll look cross ice. Good pass for steered it back. shot and a skipping puck on from Favor Prodin with a heavy drive and a stop and a hold. Freeze off in no hurry to bring it in. Now it’s carried over by Johansson. He took his pass on the right wing through to the slot. Ericson with a backhander stop by Comry and finally Jets get a hold of it bringing it in. Shley passed it off the end boards. And now a two-on-one short-handed. Johansson hustling back to make it twoon- two for Fetty. Favor scores. For the second straight game, the Jets have allowed a short-handed goal and it’s two nothing Minnesota. And each or pardon me, a short-handed goal against in each of the last two games and talked about how that was the difference against Carolina. The Jets coming off a great chance on the power play and Johansson finds favor in that second layer and he whistles this one to the top corner. Second layer beats Comry on the glove side now for the second time in this game and a shorty almost league with four scoreless games. Let’s see, shall we say? See what you did there. I’m not saying it. No. Third period has started for all of six seconds. Nyquist to Colin Miller. Right back again. That’s Nike. Miller shoots. Stopped. Kick save there by Wal. Good recovery by And the Mnikov. Shoot the puck. He doesn’t get enough chances maybe to to shoot it, but a give and go. Look at a little fade. And this is 100 100 miles an hour. That is an off couldn’t grab it on the boards. You got a piece of that one. Stanley behind the net. Took a check there from Eurovv who had the game’s opening goal. Zukarelloo Middleton makes a nice pass and they score. What a shot by Capri off as he ripped it and it’s three nothing Minnesota on the wall right there top of your screen but he jumps around Cole Keepy to keep this puck alive and then he just gives the puck back to Middleton. That’s great ice for Middleton to be able to recognize there’s a lane and it’s not a big one to get that to Capri off the best player for the Wild and he doesn’t need much does he just a crack of daylight to the top corner of the net and whistles one right by the ear of Comry with a little speed and taking that puck is Dlo the trailer is Nikas to the backhand shot and kicked away. Nether Rider was driving the net and Baron was in there too. Why not get bodies to the goal? Baron down the left side. Baron shot by Samberg and a good pump save by Yes Ballstead the Winnipeg Jets and here’s just one of many examples of how hard it’s been to finish off plays. This is a great entry from the Winnipeg Jets. Look at Begoian inside. That pass was intended to the weak side. Never a bad thing. Start to be Goian. The shot is stopped by Comry loose in front. Comry made a good save there off Trenan. 823 at the 823 mark. In the second, Faber scored him as well. Then Capri off in the third. And for the second straight game, the Wild have shut up their opponents. They beat the Jets by a score of three to

Can’t win them all good luck on the road trip
Toews looks like a shadow of his former self. Nyquist is no replacement for Ehlers. Iafallo has been invisible for most of the season. Schenn is slow and doesn't use his body anymore. Samberg has been injured but doesn't look himself out there. Just let Lambert have a run of games. What's even more worrying is that our young guys on the Moose aren't even doing all that good.
Was it my imagination, or did Nino look REALLY lazy on that first goal by the Wild when he lost the puck?

This is more like it boys, going into playoff mode already! Go Jets Go!
At least they're not the Buffalo Sabres. I don't expect the Jets to win the Presidents Trophy but I do expect them to make the playoffs, even if they have to squeak into 8th place by knocking out the Oilers. I picked the Avs for the Presidents Trophy this year and Canes for the Cup and so far they're looking like decent picks. Ottawa aka Buffalo North (1 playoff appearance in 8 years) might actually be "Canada's Team" this year, after the 25% point of the season they're currently the only Canadian team sitting in a Top 8 playoff position. How weird is that?
Better bench Miller for 10 games. 0 mistakes, 0 goals against, 100 mph slap shots from the point, world class skating, SC finals experience, can actually move someone from the front of the net. Who needs him? 😂😂😂
I effing cannot stand the Jets but I will say your play by play and color guy are knowledgeable and very complimentary to the opposing team. Kudos 👍
Fugging wild you sewish k.unts.
