NHL Highlights | Kraken vs. Islanders | November 23, 2025

Our puck drop is presented by Vanda
Pharmaceuticals. Matt Barzel and Chandler Stevenson will do the honors on a new look lineup
for Patrick Was New York Islanders without JG Powen. Islanders looking to head back up and no
doubt it’s Barcel swinging once again. He wants this thing. Here he is. Barcel right side with
speed trying to turn Lingren right to the net. Draws a penalty as the rebound was tapped wide
to come back and saden a goal at one end. That’s Jaden Schwarz. One of the top scorers there for
the Seattle Kraken. as this play came up the ice. Barcel picked up ahead of steam and that’s
Lingren trying to skate forwards with Matt Barzel a match of speed awfully difficult in the
Islanders power plays going to get a chance and you see any time it’s right in the hands that’s a
for sure thing and maybe if not for that lingren hook first whistle of the game comes almost 4
minutes in comes on a penalty as the get right to work on a power play and Barcel took a hit to
make a playoff gains the line still has possession of the puck nice little drop for Lee now Barzel
didn’t have it dropped Now for Schaefer. He backs his way into an open spot with a shot through
the skates of Lee. Puff free and Schaer got to it along the goal line. D’Angelo finds Schaefer
in the far circle. Schaefer to the net run for Lee in the pass intended for Barzel gets by everybody
and out of the zone. A what a great sequence that was. It all started with Simplicov back in the
lineup with some poise at the blue line. It’s been allisle since D’Angelo open look. Druan stopped by
Dour. Uh just unbelievable patience by Dour there. He made Joanne make the first move after Schwarz
plays it to the blue line. Adam Larson snaps one that hit a body, hit his own man in Tolman
and parked in front of the net. Blue line shot from Dunn. Rebound there off of Riddick
and rescued by Adam Pell. Very important to have this materialize into a lead here. Yanni
Newman arist right at the eye level of a crouch down David Riddick who grabs for the whistle
but didn’t score a goal in 60 games last year. score one in the 22 so far this year as Marchman
slides it down. Beneers short side shot hit the post. Lambert’s been doing it with defense as
they push for offense here. Yeah, watch Rick. Watch his shoulder. He just gets up and almost
puts his head up right in the little nook of the crossbar and post and Baneer is a guy that
burst onto the scene with an outstanding rookie year. He’s looking to regain that form, but he’s
cracking players we’re going to see this evening. shot from Montour gloved as it was headed wide
Ryan Pock came overman a chance to skate with it for a moment his pass to Druan and now the
Islanders get it to Horvat doesn’t dump it in sends it towards Heinman got the forehand shot
away and Dor made the stop uh I think last night was the first time I watched a game of a Heinman
playing it and said where’s Hinimman where’s 51 today well right now you can see he’s up
in the play right off the chest of Decor punched across the goal mouth by Paul Mary but
nobody home in blue from becoming something. How about Horvette and Paul Mary setting the pick
right there Cal. It kept on coming. Freezing to blow the whistle here as Gdro steps in with
a pass towards the middle. It bounced down for Montour and pinalled off Sikas. D’Angelo Slov has
Duclair. Got it to him. Anthony Duclair loads up a shot. Produced the rebound off the light pad and
a reactive clear by Seattle. Not enough for Icing. Uh this thing starting to pick up now. The pace
completely different than the first 10 minutes even though the Isles controlled it both teams now
end to end. Barzel for Pock lets it fly at 103. Wow, that might that might be the quickest of
the year, right? He had a 101.8 mph shot earlier which was one of the hardest of the year in the
league. might be his hardest of all time as Dru slips this one down into the goal line. Center Lee
shot right on. Swallowed up by Joey Dord quickly. And this is a great play by Matt Barzell. Just
finds the triangle, finds the pocket. And Danders Lee and so good to see him. He was able to come
back last year. Played in 42 games when all was said and done, but he’s been healthy all year
for this cracking team. as Harvat hits one off the crossbar side and try and h try and lose
Matty Beneer as his centerman getting stuck under the pile and watch him just kind of beline
over here. A little roll off and there he goes and gets wide open. Normally it’s the winger that
goes to that position. A little bit of a fight through a couple of Kraken Mayfield off the wall
and lands down in the glove of Paul Mary. Reggie with a stepie with a shot and glove down by Joey
Decord inside the final minute of the period. Frenenburg Thomas upstairs. Cal Clutterbuck
at ice level as the outers give the puck up and Renick takes one off the mask from Ellie
Tolvin. Speaking of guys who can shoot the puck, he can fire it. I think Tolvin looked
around there to make sure that was on side. Two first ask questions later. Done.
Big blast kick. Horvat parked in front with Montour taking away the eyes of Dour. Paul Mary
down for Horvat. Drives the goal line. tried to sneak in five holes. Shut off by the Seattle
net minder. Oh, there’s beyond that offside, Bren. And sometimes it can work in your favor.
Winterton put up off the glass. Landed at the side of the net and Ryan Pulock will escort it
out of the zone. He’ll hit the red line. He’ll hit the blue line. He’ll keep on going. Pull
doesn’t get a chance to do that much with his partner Matthew Schaeer up on the play so often.
He’s able to get it deep. They go to work. Duclair a long range try. Turned out by Dord. That pass
intended for Dutch. Druan off to the races. He’s got Duclair with him. Druan stopped by Dord and
he hangs on from Jonathan Druit. But a nice job here. The sticks have been in the lanes. And I I
like what Jonathan Druit has in mind here because he obviously wants to pass. He’s a great passer,
but things were closing in on as he does so well. And Riker Evans just flies this one out. That
one gloved ahead legally in the defensive zone, but turnover just inside the line. Here’s a chance
and a shot turned out by the goalender and David Riddick on the try from Kton the blocker there.
What do you see on this one, Cal? Well, I see Scotty just trying to touch the puck because he
thinks it’s a hand pass and I think Shabby might have been able to knock that out of the zone, but
Alexiaak shot blocked by Richie. Can he get there? Cal Richie. Holstrom coming as well. Richie shot
and stopped by. Oh, I think he just bobbled that a tiny bit as he was looking for Homestrom. That
is Kraken. Found themselves in that situation. Alexic a left-handed shot over on the right side.
Just a perfect job in the lane. And watch him as he looks up for Homestöm. That puck’s not where he
thought it would be. Yeah. And no JG Pouro. That’s going to be something that comes into a focus
for the New York Islanders. Corvette would lead to the net. He found Boriselle. Saved by Dord
and he gobbles up the rebound. Over and over again. when you spot the open man and sometimes
it takes a little bit of poise for Anders Lee to find that seam and Matt Barzel being rushed from
behind. That’s what you were talking about Cal off to the back door. He saw Anders Lee and he
he’s just feeling it. He’s seeing it. Obviously, it’s not where Barzel want. Got it to his stick.
So, there is no hand pass. The puck went wide to the goal. Paul Mary D’Angelo not on the same
page. Pass to the front. Sports shot down by Rick. Mason Marchman comes in down the wall defended
by Ryan Pock. Knocked down Marchman. Puck wound up on Everly. Stick wraparound try. Rick didn’t
look like he had that sealed off but he’s able to recover and get the whistle. Have had their
looks but in the third period they’ve been really strong. And here’s a look from Jordan Everly after
an effort play by Marchman there. And not the first one but the second one there that the second
option I should say and then when was looking for him he wasn’t there. Schaefer for Paul Mary across
for Mayfield. Open look off the shoulder of Dorn. Scott Mayfield as he wiggles down. Watch that
left shoulder. Decor just shrugs that on that road trip. And after just one goal yesterday and
none today, it’s five scoreless periods plus here on home ice since returning as Mayfield put it
in the crease. Jamming away as Sikas to Cord has it underneath him. The offensive blue line. You
better make sure. Nice job from him and not a bad idea from this angle. Stuff it as you got bodies
in front. Of course, Casey’s going to be there and in comes three other guys. Corvette Paul Mary and
Heidman on the ice together as Chandler Stevenson all the way around the net centering feed. Jaden
Schwarz with a shot. Big time stop by David Rick. Well, I mean they were the one that started that
draw all nearing a minute. But here’s the look right here. And what a save that was from Woodick.
A little bit of old school. I don’t know what you call that, Cal. That’s just the uh do whatever
I can to keep this puck out of the net save. And you know, the Islanders got caught puck watching a
little. There’s four Islanders in in the position and that thing goes through. Big save Dave making
a big save. Islanders have come up with a few late goals here so far this season as Barcel drives
to the net. Can’t come up with it. 38 seconds left. Schaefer restster it for Barcel. Barzel
trying to get lost over there. Barcel spins away. trucked away by Dory. Loose puck back in
the net. Durant able to find it. Evans pass stolen away by Paul Mary. Shamanov’s with him.
Paul Mary save. Rebound was blocked by Evans. Gets in tight and somehow got it through.
Nowhere to go. Just punched it home. Well, a bit of a shootout specialist is Freddy Udro. I
mean his number gets called and on the season he hasn’t scored yet. Granted as Matt Barzel picks
it up at center ice here in the first round of the shootout. Saved by see from him but just that
glove hand of Dor with the pad stacked right next to it. Everybody on their feet here on Long Island
for against the side scores. He needed it. He got it and the game continues. Direction or sorry,
change of speed here. They gets the court. Well, just see from this angle on the replay, there
is not much daylight there. And that thing came out of the net as fast as it went in. What
a shot by We went through three rounds of a shootout. We need more. Round number four.
It’s Chandler Stevenson. Ran out of room as he tried to get Rick to bite angle, but you got
to figure he’s up to something. And I think just a little stutter and missed his spot was
Stevenson trying Murray has a chance to win it. Scores. It only took one. Kyle Paul Mary in the
shootout and the Islanders win it one- nothing. A chance to be hungry for more. And
how about that release from Paul Mary as the glove just dropped and I think he was waiting
for this moment right there. The glove’s low. just by it. What a huge goal. And you love
the celebration and the reaction from Kyle Palmer as UBS Arena rejoices. Kyle Pal has
scored 10 times in a shootout. Six of them have won the shootout including that one from
number 21 as the Islanders pick up their 13th win of the season 27 and 28. That moves them into
second place in the Eastern Conference. from the
