Hornets at Hawks: Coach Charles Lee and Kon Knueppel Postgame Media Availability | 11/23/2025
you know, 103 93 coach call 850 mark. You know, what did you guys talk about? Tell each other to rally to close that gap in the fourth. Uh just being solid, uh holding to one shot, you know, we’re giving up too many offensive rebounds in the first half. Uh and in that third quarter, uh specifically, um so once we cleaned that up, it was easier to get out and run, you know, get get good early looks. Um tied rookie record for seven threes a game. You know, how confident are you feeling assuming the three ball will come out? shot. She shot feels good right now. Um, you know, second to last play came off clean. Probably should have probably should have took it instead of get in the lane and get into the spin move. You know, kind of kind of a clunky spin move. Should have probably just, you know, shot a three off the the inbound there. So, that’s disappointing. And then going to three game home this week, you know, what are you guys looking to improve and having it bounce back this week? Man, we just want to get in the win column. you know, we’re playing hard. Um, we just got to, you know, play with our mind a little bit better. Um, get the matches we want. Um, think about what we’re doing in execution def uh offensively and then, you know, know our personnel defensively. Um, and take take care of that stuff on that end. 17. Like, do you feel like you guys was it a lack of pace or some of the things you guys? Yeah, I mean honestly a lack of of pace, but also, you know, they did a good job taking care of the ball, I think. I know. I haven’t looked at the stat sheet. Um, but it didn’t seem like we got we forced many turnovers, you know, so it’s hard to get fast break once, you know, do that. Wow. Oh, yeah. That was a, you know, it’s a disappointing margin when you want to play fast to to lose that 17. Great. Cool. Thank you so much, Eric. uh coach with a young team who are all learning how to play together, what’s the value of being in endg game situations like tonight? Oh, so I think it’s huge for our group. Um because you know where you ultimately want to get to, you have to be able to understand what it takes defensively and offensively to finish games, what that physicality looks like. Um the importance of executing and playing through contact and finishing possessions on the other end with a ton of contact. So, um I think our group again I I truly feel like we are getting better in a lot of those situations and um how do we finish a couple more of those layups and offensive rebounds that we got, but um the the end of that third quarter is one that I like wish we could get back and I can’t wait to go back and watch the film of it. Yeah, you have two days off and I know how much you value practice. So, if you guys are able to get a full practice in, what are some of the things that you’re going to focus on based on this weekend? Yeah, you want to freshen them up number one um from a body and mind and spirit perspective, but you also just want to tighten up your identity, what you do defensively, um what you do offensively, and I look forward to us just being able to, you know, touch all the parts of our game and and continue to get better. Thank you, coach. Thank you, Eric.

I'm pissd off again. At some point you have to tell a man don't shoot that shit no more got dammit. Do we have anyone that will say that. If not I will. Bridges, you see not a 3pt shooter. You or Melo or Miller. There should be a 4 miss rule. But we out there like there isn't any team discipline or rules to this shit. And you wonder why we suck. I think we have e good players but they need to be told where to be and what to do and not do. Starting lineup is terrible. Bad mix. We been in a rebuild for 20 years. People constantly getting paid for doing nothing. I would love to be assistant GM for free. They shouldn't trade Melo just yet. He just needs a new position. Starting should be Sexton, Kon, Melo, Moussa and Kalk. The bench should be Mann, Miller, Bridges, tijane and plumlee. Then we can have more balance. But they do t ask me.
Why is miles always taking the last shot when kon is there đ
The players played hard. I just donât get why Lee makes coaching seem like Chinese math wtf he always drawing up something but then it looks like crap on the floor. Common sense ainât common and Miles poor shot selection didnât help. We should have won this game. I guess this helps the tank smh
Same old verbiage from good old Lee. âWeâll go back and watch filmâ â of the same mistakes that never get fixed. If the players canât understand the teaching, then the issue isnât the players⊠itâs the teacher who canât deliver the message. At this rate, the Hornets are going to ruin these rookiesâ mindsets. Smh.
I canât stand when a player gets hot and the coach immediately pulls him. Weâll never have a guy go off like Harden because Harden was allowed to stay on the floor and cook. Meanwhile, one of our guys hits two shots in a row and here comes the substitution. It drives me crazy.
Kon was 4-for-4 (maybe 5-for-5) and the coach basically said, âNot on my watch.â Last night he took only 12 shots and made 9. He shouldâve been allowed to shoot 20â28 times just to see how he responds. Let Kon work.
And the thing is, Kon isnât someone who just keeps jacking threes â he actually mixes it up to find his rhythm. But Melo? He can fire up 18 straight threes and nobody on the coaching staff blinks.
