Kellen Moore Recaps Loss | Saints-Falcons Postgame | 2025 NFL Week 12
week. Felt like it was a good week and uh we didn’t come out and get this one done. Uh credit to those guys. Those guys uh coached better, played better and uh ultimately executed better than us today. And so uh frustrating game. All three phases kind of have different opportunities that obviously we missed and u you know it’s it’s going to be a big uh big opportunity for us to respond the right way and u you know stick together and keep battling. You have eight up to eight misses now. Do you still have faith as a starting kicker going forward? Yeah, it’s a frustrating one. Obviously, uh, you know, I think the biggest and most important thing is we we got to go through this full process to, you know, understand how how this happened today. You know, he missed a couple and it’s unfortunate because there’s been a lot of good, but uh, we’ll have to evaluate that and u, you know, just get get a better feel for, you know, how that process went down today. What’s the precedent that you’d rather set in that situation in terms of whether it be patience or, you know, trying out the message that Yeah, we’ll just we’ll just evaluate that as we go. Obviously, it’s an important thing we’ll have to evaluate. Uh, first really dig into what happened today as far as, you know, let’s let’s communicate at a high level. Let’s let’s go through that process, understand um how the outcomes occurred, and then um you know, we’ll obviously evaluate and there’ll be another day to continue to discuss that. Because you all have been looking at the future at some position, wide receiver, quarterback. Could Charlie Smith be part of that evaluation to to get a look at him? Charlie’s certainly in the developmental role. um you know he’s he’s done a lot of good as he’s gone through this process for a couple years now in the developmental role and so um again it’s it’s something we’ll just we’ll just have to spend some time and invest some time and say he’s not going to be the answer to all that and um yeah I think it’s a process that we have to go through as you guys are looking to like develop you made some moves that what’s the advantage you’re going away from Tyler in the red zone yeah just some of the run game stuff like you know it’s a numbers game down there and um you gain a number with Taesm and um you know red zone’s on me we’re not getting it done so it’s simple as that we’re not scoring touchdowns down there. Uh 0 for three today. Had a huge imp impact today. And so um you know, we got to find a way to get it done. When it comes to like Tyler getting those reps, is there any like future talk though like investing in that maybe like would it be better to fail with him than with him in that area? Well, I think always the goal is still to win the football game and there’s plenty of opportunities that obviously Tyler goes through that are hard hard situations and challenging situations and there’s just plenty of stuff in there that red zone wise we felt like there would be some good opportunities. felt like the run game in the plus one situation there was a lot of evidence to support it would be a positive manner um it didn’t didn’t come out to our outcome and so uh you know certainly there’s more opportunities that we’ll have to evaluate Tyler there’s plenty of games that we’re going to get to evaluate him in those situations and that’ll be important part of this process exactly on the hand and yeah it’s just a play action and obviously they got too close and um you know there was a collision there and so uh it was a play action play we’re just going play action uh pass and uh you know I didn’t get a perfect clean look at I was watching the routes as it went and so um I saw a little bit of the footage um but I’ll have to look more into it. the incomplete pass on with utilizing him red zone game but having him throw as opposed to Tyler goes yeah run a lot of lot of direct runs to tase him at the quarterback position felt like there’s a play opportunity there and ultimately that’s on me didn’t work so you just feel like this was a game there’s so many missed opportunities yeah there’s missed opportunities uh credit to those guys they made the opportunities they created you know enough explosive plays in the game they made the stops in the red zone Um, you know, we had our opportunities like like a lot of games and um, you know, it’s just a matter of those small little margins we got to take advantage of them. How would you describe this as a play caller in this game? Is it is it frustrating during the course of the game or do you still feel like you got a bunch of things working? How would you describe, I guess, self-evaluation, the job you did as a play call? Yeah, not good enough. Uh, obviously we didn’t get done on offense. Um, you know, it was choppy. We we weren’t able to create the flow that, you know, we had the previous, you know, week against Carolina and so, uh, frustrating. I haven’t done a good enough job with this group and uh we got to find a way. A lot of the play calls happen short pass situation. Is that because of Atlanta’s pass rush? Certainly their pass rushes has been really productive. They’ve been a very productive pass rush team. I thought, you know, there were some opportunities to get the ball out of our hands. Obviously, as the game progressed, we got into some challenging situations and they were able to rush to the passer in some gnome rushes and that was a challenge for us. How would you evaluate Tyler just on first look? Yeah. Uh I thought he battled. I thought he, you know, g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g gave us some positive things in there. Uh it wasn’t an easy sit easy situation in some of those as the game progressed and we got into the multi-score game. Um yeah, I thought he battled and certainly I think if you take the emotions out of it and you go watch the film probably tonight and tomorrow, you’ll certainly see some positives. Yeah. Yeah. We we’ll have to take it take a let that go through it process. Uh obviously wasn’t able to return. Uh we’ll have to get the full evaluation tomorrow and get a feel for that and see see what this outline looks like. You know, as you say, you’ve had Charlie Smith in the building for two years now, so you know what he can do in every situation except for a live game day during the regular season as a 21. Well, I think it’s something that’s definitely part of the evaluation proc process. He’s been here for two years and he’s he’s developed a ton and he’s had preseason game opportunities and he’s he’s done a nice job there and so uh you know he’s he’s in a developmental role and we just have to continue to evaluate that each and every week and um we’ve had a lot of guys that have had opportunities to step up and uh we’ll see how all this stuff uh progresses how you thought you Yeah, I thought Devin there there’s probably going to be some positives coming out of that film. U I thought he made a couple plays in space and got got some extra yards which was a positive. Uh I think for the most part the protection stuff um he did did some nice things in there and so you know he stepped up and we’ll see how his opportunities progressed moving forward. The goal line before the ground what would be the advantages or thought process of being in shotgun and that play like so close to the goal line. Yeah. Just get Taem and then you know essentially you have 10 blockers and and Taem and so that was the goal. we a play we ran earlier in the game and got a first down and so um you know obviously unfortunately the snap um you know wasn’t successful. Were you impressed with the atmosphere today considering you know the struggles this year and everything pretty packed? Yeah. Yeah, I thought it was great atmosphere. I thought our guys um you know there’s a couple big time opportunities. I felt like the crowd helped um you know some third downs. You know they were in sort of in field range and got a false start and couple procedure penalties in this thing. And so, uh, you know, we appreciate all that that that’s that makes this place special and we know we got got some work to do. We got to keep grinding and keep getting better and, um, you know, there’ll be there’ll be better days certainly and, um, you think that we all have that sight that, uh, we’ll get better each week and we’ll keep finding these opportunities. How would you describe the mood in the locker room? Yeah, just frustration, uh, just because you recognize the opportunities that are out there and um, you know, we just haven’t gotten it done. I know you haven’t seen the film yet. maybe talk about just first blood. Seemed like Caesar had some issues today with some of the looks they threw at him. Al yeah, again I think those those ones are always really important to see see the film. Um you know up front obviously we got in some passing situations and they really get some pass rushing. So um obviously challenging situations, but we got to find a find something that works for us a little bit better and find find a solution to to you know get the ball moving in some of those situations. And uh you know in the run game we got we got to find some more consistency in the run game where we can get some some things moving and create more flow. Hey coach um without Cooks um what did you see from Mason T? Obviously had that big return early in the game and then he had 30 catches. What do you see from Yeah, we we like Mason a lot. He’s done some positive things through uh training camps and through preseason football. He’s played in somewhat limited role in the regular season. I thought he made some plays in this game. He’ll continue to play a valuable role with the self scouting opportunity over the course of the bye. Did you find that what happened today was about adjustments not being fully, you know, not being able to fully implement the adjustments that you wanted or was it just a lack of effectiveness? Yeah, I mean I mean at the end of the day, we just didn’t get it done. Um, you know, we can look at it from a lot of different angles. Um, you know, schematically, I’m going to spend a lot of time saying, are we putting ourselves in the best position to be successful? uh players are trying to find every margin that they can improve on. And so, uh you know, that’s the goal of this thing. Obviously, every opportunity you have, whether it be a self scout or uh a game film, you’re going to evaluate it. There’s going to be things that come out of it positively and negatively. Um and you just got to keep growing. And so, obviously, we missed this miss this opportunity. All right. Thank you, T.

because looney tuney loomy
this coach is lost
the coaching and play calling on offense is bad. This is going to be a long 3 years if Kellen is this bad as a coach. He had a lot to work with in Philly not here
Kellen Moore is not a head hes not even a good OC, 3rd and 1 yar for a td. Dude call a shotgun. I hope he gets fired and I hope Gayle comes to her senses and clean house house and start finding a gm that knows football. Cause obviously sean was picking his players not mickey loomis. Kellen hasn't broke 20 pts on offence all season what a joke
Even his answers are safe… like he don’t have fire.. it’s like bruh u ain’t gotta yell but Jesus have a spine
Sir, you have a slow ass team, you could have won this game….The team was ready to play however…you kept tryin to run the ball up the middle at the goal line…. when you see that's not working, try something else, like the old Green Bay Power sweep or something, your current team is not quite strong enough on power running up the middle…. I do Like the Saints Quarterback , he will definitely get better, he can turn out to be pretty good… The Taysom Hill thing is Dead unless you-guys strengthen your Offensive Line, and lastly, get rid of the kicker, he consistently miss easy field goals, he's had enough chances, stop playing with this guy… I will say however, it was not a push over game for Atlanta, they were scared all the way, until the end.
Remember we have Moore because other coaching candidates said no to the Saints. We are seeing why he was not a top choice.
how did our only TD come from DEFENSE 🤦🏾♂️
Need to reevaluate your JOB!!
Why did we bench Spencer??
Teams know Taysum is only gonna run the ball. Yall wonder why it dont work when he comes on the field.
Run the damn ball with your RB's. Another game under 100 yards rushing. SMH
Terrible coaching. Terrible game planning and play calls
I will say it again…..SAINTS should of traded the farm at the deadline, they are just costing us years(plural) in recovery to a competitive team, getting tired of watching this kind of football THUMBS DOWN!!!! FIRE LOOMIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He sounds like Kliff Kingsbury, but he was the head coach for the Cardinals.
A terrible, ugly Saints performance & Grupe is a choke artist
Missing a 38 & 47 yard FG – is that "part of the process"?? Stop with all this corporate speak. It's BS. I'd rather see him yell and show some emotion (for once).
Way too much loyalty to the mormon players… I don't get it. Season's over.
Sure, Kellen's mormon, but Vele is a very clear bust at this point… waste of picks in trade, not a starting WR quality , turns 28 in a couple weeks!
Taysom Hill use is also questionable. 'mormon missle' WAS a popular guy, but washed at this point… 10 carries for 1.7ypc Falcons and very bad play overall 2025.
They need to take a look at other younger better talent… Estime, Tipton, others.
Embarrassing loss!
2026 Loading……..
You need to be fired! Like today!
This organization is a hot mess… no identity, too many bad to mediocre players, terrible front office, non-existent player development. So many deficiencies that you'd never know where to start
Kamara is probably washed up. Saints need a real RB. Taysom is definitely washed up, so quit swapping the starting QB out for an old misused gadget player in the redzone. It doesn't work, so knock it off. And then we have Blake Grupe… Just go to a few high schools in town and pick a kicker. Most of them would be an improvement over Grupe.
They need to put Spencer back at quarterback.
Great win today for my Falcons glad we beat yall
Kellen Moore cut Blake Grupe and find a new kicker
