Justin Jefferson Talks About Offense’s Struggles, His Hatred of Losing, Defense’s Strong Play

Can you describe kind of life of a receiver and just how helpless it is in a game like this? Yeah, it’s, you know, it’s tough. It’s frustrating and um you know, the the individual stats doesn’t really mean anything. You know, if we win the game, then you know, it doesn’t really matter. So, uh it just sucks that we you know, we lose the game. I don’t have much um you know, much towards the game. Uh, so it’s we just got to fix it and figure out what we got to do on offense. Justin, to be saying that again, like just how frustrating is it to be at this place seemingly weekly? Yeah, it’s frustrating. It’s frustrating to lose. You know, it’s frustrating to um, you know, to to be up here and say the same things every single week and uh, expecting for something to change the following week and, you know, we’re still in the same spot. So, uh, we just got to figure it out and, uh, see the things that we need to change and get better. As you’re standing over on the side, like at last few minutes and you’re just like over by yourself, what what’s going through your mind in that type of moment? We lost again. Um, you know, I I hate to lose. I I hate to be in, you know, this type of situation. I hate feeling the way, you know, we feel. Uh, I hate coming in this locker room seeing the down faces and, uh, the not negative energy, but the down energy. So, uh, like I said, we just got to fix it and turn it around. Justin, I don’t know if you’ve ever been part of a a game where you’ve only had four net yards in the second half. Um, different than the first, obviously. What did they do differently? And is that part of the frustration, too? I mean, that’s an entire offense right there with that number. Uh, no. I wouldn’t say they did anything differently. Uh their D line is good. Uh they had some pressure on the quarterback uh that didn’t really allow us to really you know throw the ball downfield. Uh you know they kept a pretty much a blanket over top of us so we really couldn’t run downfield. Uh so it was just mostly zone and uh just allowing their Dline to go attack the quarterback. Justin, at this point in the season, do you have any idea what you guys can do to try to turn this around? Um at this moment I I don’t I don’t know. We just got to go back to work, you know. We just got to go back to work and figure out uh what we can do to help this team win. Uh offensively, uh we feel like the defense have have been playing well has has been uh of course the the turnovers aren’t there, but I feel like they’re making stops and give giving us the ball back and give us those opportunities to, you know, go down and put points on the board. Uh you know, we just not doing that as often. So, uh we just we just got to figure that out. Justin, are there other ways to get you involved? he you know the pressure obviously you were open on some of those but by that time he was on his back by then is there ways of getting you involved that don’t require extra protection or Yeah. Uh that’s a great question. Uh you know that’s something for for you know the play callers to really answer and uh for me to just go out there and continue doing what I got to do and uh to get open create that severation and uh you know once the ball is is up and coming my way to make that play. Uh, so it’s I don’t know. After last week and then today, what do you tell yourself when you go home on how to handle this and also how to be a leader and I mean it’s something you really haven’t had to deal with in your career yet? Yeah, it’s just that’s the toughest part about it. You know, just uh, you know, with these past couple weeks and uh, just losing and not really doing what we need to do on the offensive side of the ball. Uh, it’s definitely frustrating. It’s definitely frustrating. It’s hard to, you know, keep the positive energy and the, uh, you know, the go back to work mentality. Uh, but, you know, that’s what we need to do. You know, it’s it’s something that, um, you know, we need to focus on is is to, you know, come back tomorrow and, uh, go back to work and don’t really, you know, hang our heads and, uh, don’t really think about the negative, uh, part about it. Um, but, uh, we definitely need to, you know, fix some things around and, uh, change what we’re doing. That’s what you have to say to yourself. For sure. For sure. Justin hat number 36 had said a couple things to you coming out the field those series at the end. What was he saying? Nothing much for real. Just BS. Thanks everyone. Thank you. Appreciate it.

  1. Tom Brady very enthusiastically interviewed JJM after the Vikingsโ€™ big comeback win against the Lions just recently. Tom repeatedly complimented JJM on his performance. Now all the keyboard warriors want McCarthy benched. Hilarious ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. Yโ€™all a bunch of fair weather fans. No good football team ever got to be good without facing adversity. What created a good no great football team is going through hard times like this and sticking together, facing the adversity and coming out the other side through hard work and determination. Not by giving up.
