Packers Dominate the Vikings Reaction & Breakdown
Ah, good has triumphed over evil. The Packers have defeated the purple incarnation of Satan. And Toyotthon has begun. [Music] [Applause] Posi Packer Nation, welcome to another episode of Pack the podcast where you don’t have to be Packer, but it sure does help. I’m your host Tom. Take that, Satan Graci. And today we are going to be talking about the Green Bay Packers defense, dominating the Minnesota Vikings with a score of 23-6. Take that you spawn of Satan. And before we dive too much into this game, I want to do a big shout out and thank you to you all as we are getting closer and closer to 1 million subscribers. Of course, there are never sponsors on these videos. Everything is completely and totally free. It is also free to subscribe. So, feel free to hit that subscribe button. It really helps out the channel as we get closer and closer to 1 million. There are very few things that I think even the most diehard Packers fans could complain about after seeing today’s game. You can look at some of the conservative play calling, like for example, Matt Laflur ran it out of the shotgun on third and one again. And shocker, we did not get the first down, but other than that, yeah, I’m pretty good with how things went today. Talking about the Green Bay Packers defense, who really was the star of the show. You head into this game and JJ McCarthy has not been playing well these past few weeks. However, JJ McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings were able to knock off the Detroit Lions and it’s a divisional game and we are in the season where literally anything can happen from week to week. And so because of that, there are no gimmies. And considering the Packers, this is only their second divisional game of the year. There was still a little bit of stress heading into this week’s game, especially after it was a close one against the Giants last week. And well, it was a really close game in the first half and then the Packers started to run away with it. Let’s take a look at what happened on offense. Jordan Love 14 for 21, 139 yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions, was sacked only one time. And so the offensive line actually did a really nice job today in pass protection and also creating some running lanes as Emanuel Wilson 28 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He had a great day on the ground. Josh Jacobs nor Matthew Golden were in on this game. It is possible that it is possible that we see the return of not only Matthew Golden, Josh Jacobs, but also Jaden Reed this upcoming Thursday as the Packers have to turn around very quickly and go up against the Lions on the road on Thanksgiving. And that will be one hell of a game. And we mentioned the conservative play calling before. I’m not really hating it a whole lot because by the time we got into the fourth quarter, the Packers had this game well in hand. And so while you would like to see them absolutely stomp out the Vikings, they didn’t allow a single touchdown and were able to win this game with a comfortable margin. And so because of that, yeah, we’ll just wait until Thursday and hopefully the offense can show up and be a little bit more dynamic as they take on the Lions. Christian Watson was our leading receiver. Five catches for 49 yards. Talking about the special teams, oh, it is nothing but praise for the special teams, which I feel like we haven’t done that in forever. McManus got the start today, was a perfect three for three on field goals. Dan Wheelen, who has been a monster of a punter all freaking season. He had a great game, though I will give a whole lot of credit to Wright, the Vikings punter. He had a phenomenal day as well. Wheel and four punts for 190 yards, had a long of 63 yards, did an excellent job. And on top of that, one of his punts was so good that it bounced back and it hit a Vikings returner and the Packers were able to fall on top of it and get the ball inside the 10 yardd line of the Vikings. And ultimately, you had an Emanuel Wilson touchdown. And so, not only was the special teams perfect with field goals, with punting, but on top of that, they even got a turnover. Who knows? Toyota can really bring us all together. But really, the story of today is this Packers defense, cuz good god did they play lights out today. They allowed a field goal on their very first drive and another field goal before halftime and that was it. They were putting JJ McCarthy through the ringer in that second half. Five sacks, two by Micah Parsons. Isaiah McDuffy had one hell of a game. He had a great open field tackle against TJ Hawinson in the first half. On top of that, he had half a sack and also had an interception. So, a great job by McDuffy as Quay Walker was out for this game. Evan Williams had his second interception in two weeks. He had the game-winning interception against the Giants at the very end of that game last week and had another interception in which they were mocking the skull chant in the end zone as JJ McCarthy threw two interceptions besides getting sacked five times today. Devonte Wyatt also had two sacks as well. And on top of that, he also is credited with injuring Keshan Nixon as Nixon was running to the sideline trying to make a play. He ran into Devonte Wyatt who did not move. So it was like running into a wall and so Nixon was out for the rest of the game. Hopefully he is okay. But yeah, Devonte Wyatt, you do not want to get tackled by that man. And really this was just a great game because the Vikings, yeah, they really, really struggled in that second half. JJ McCarthy went 12 for 19 in the game for 87 yards, two interceptions, like I said, was sacked five times. Jordan Mason was their leading rusher, eight for 42 yards. Aaron Jones, nine carries for 41 yards. Justin Jefferson, how many times has he destroyed the Packers secondary? Was held to four catches for 48 yards. The Packers defense held the Vikings to just 10 first downs, 145 total yards. With less than 10 minutes in the game, the Vikings had negative 22 yards in the second half. They wound up finishing that second half with four total yards. So, yeah, I know JJ McCarthy is really struggling and that offense hasn’t looked pretty good, but the Packers defense deserves a ton of credit. And also talking about discipline, the Packers only had two penalties today, which I’m pretty sure is a season low. So that was a nice reprieve. And ultimately now the Packers got to go play the Detroit Lions in Detroit on Thanksgiving. The Lions just beat the Giants in overtime as they were trailing that entire game until overtime because shout out Jir Gibbs, he’s a phenomenal player. And so the Packers, they are going to have their hands full trying to stop Jamir Gibbs just like they did in week one. And unfortunately, the Chicago Bears also won against the Aaron Rogers list Steelers today. And so that means that they remain number one in the division. And this is what we’ve been talking about, right? You want the Packers to have dominant wins. They had one today. And while you could definitely nitpick and go, man, I wish the offense did was a little bit more aggressive. I wish they put up a few more points. This game really never got out of hand once it hit the second half. And because of that, I got to give the Packers a ton of credit. As we’ve been talking about for the past couple of weeks with the Packers inconsistencies, we’re about to find out how good the Packers actually are. Not only because of the short week they have going up against Detroit on Thursday, but two weeks from today, they’ll be playing the Bears for the very first time. And then they’re going to have to play the Bears again and the Vikings again. And so with only six games remaining in the regular season, four of them are against the division. They also got to play the Broncos in Denver, which is going to be a tough game. And they also got to play the Ravens. And so the Packers, they took care of business today. incredibly happy with how the defense played. And if the Packers are able to knock off the Lions on Thanksgiving and then get a little bit of a break when they could be getting guys like Josh Jacobs, like Matthew Golden, and most importantly, Jaden Reed back from injury. Oh boy, this offense could take yet another step. They got it done today. They looked phenomenal. And yeah, it’s always nice to see Malik Willis in the game when the game is no longer mattering. And the Packers, yeah, Toyota thon has truly begun. But let me know what you think down in the comments below. How do you feel about this win over the Minnesota Vikings? And again, the Packers have only played two divisional games this season. They already have a better record against the NFC North than they did last year as they only won one game against the Chicago Bears, and that was off a blocked field goal. So, progress, let me know. You saw me at tomcycount.com. And a big shout and thank you to all the Patreon and YouTube members for supporting this channel. And thank you so much for watching. I’m Tom Graci. I’ll see you on Thanksgiving. And as always, go pack goat. [Music]
The Green Bay Packers defense dominated JJ McCarthy & the Minnesota Vikings. With 2 more upcoming divisional games in a row, can the Packers build on their momentum heading into Thanksgiving?

Talking about the play calling – at German TV they told MLF one of the best play caller of the league. 🙃
Vikings are firmly in charge of the cellar . And rightly soo . That front office is the worst in the league
Yeah, play calling was what bothered me this game. I did not like the calls when it was 17-6 and we had 3 runs in a row to then kick the field goal, and on the last FG to run/run/pass at 3rd and 11. Yeah, game was in hand, but give Love a chance. It felt to me like MLF was worried he would throw a INT and took the ball out of his hands. Watson is becoming the go-to guy right now too, as the Packers had a few more drops this game (not nearly as bad as last game mind you, but 2-3 are more than enough). Giants should have won that freaking game… up again by double digits at the 11 min mark… maybe they fired the wrong guy, sheesh.
It’s crazy to think. The only reason why McCarthy’s draft stock rose was off of Blake Corum’s legs.
As a Seahawks fan, I know the Vikings will destroy us just because the Seahawks are sooo good at embarrassing themselves every week
ok defense is superbowl calibur… offense needs to get there
You can sit Golden the rest of the season, he is a huge bust , you couldn't hand him the ball without him dropping it.
Doesn't GB get another game against the Vikings too?
Also that run blocking is horrendous, what the hell.
I watched the highlights and Wilson was constantly hit at the line of scrimmage
I feel so bad for JJ as a michigan fan.. but as a green bay fan… lol
Take that Satan!!!!
I love you so much. I am so very sorry. Nothing would would make me happier than watching the Lions absolutely annihilate the Packers on Thursday. In the meantime, thank you for doing the lords work. See you on Thanksgiving, should be a great game, good luck dude
Gibbs is going to destroy the packers horrible run def.
actual 3 phase victory
lets goooooooooooooo
this is the team you showed on the first game, and you havent been
but now you are when everyone is hurt
lets gooooooooooooo
give respect to zayne, he pushed the viking into the ball and then got the recovery
mad dog
from there the game was over
If LaFleur is this conservative down the stretch I have doubts that they make the playoffs. They have some very good offenses coming up. What he's calling now isn't going to cut it.
We need this same team for the rest of the schedule! GO PACK GO!
Thanksgiving is still ON SIGHT, despite uh….how badly the Lions struggled to beat the Giants. That being said, heheh Vikings. Thought y'all were all that cause you beat us after the bye week? SKOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! ON SIGHT Christmas Day, Mr "Kneecaps still intact".
Although the bears are leading the NFC north I’m excited for the outlook of our season
It was a great game but I would have wanted some more passes and for the final field goal I would have liked for us to go for it cause we can’t be settling for field goals next week
Good (GB) over evil (Minn)…. LMFAO!
In defense of J.J. McCarthy
He's starting his career after two knee surgeries to repair a torn meniscus.
He's thrown a total of 140 pass attempts
He's younger than Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
Hell, he's only one year older than Arch Manning.
Give him time.
McCarthy looks alot like Ponder
Daneil Whelan is our best player.
Go Pack Go!
Gambling isn't good for the game
Thank you for the breakdown! Always informative and entertaining! 🫶💚💛
Classic 3rd and 1 inside zone play.
maybe this time tom won't put the panthers ahead of the packers
A sore shoulder..means being a bit more careful with Love.
Thursday is going to be tough. GB has to be near perfect.
can't wait for Scripted this week
As a Vikings fan: wait till you have to play a real team….
Finally a comfortable win over a team we should be beating, it’s only 1 game and I know it’s only JJ MCcarthy but relieved
Offense needs to be better
Did the poop'le team win??
NEIN!!
McCarthy sucks! Total bust. KOC needs to be fired! Vikings are wasting so much of the talent they have.
I was so expecting it to be Tom… no high blood pressure grossi
I'm flashing back to 1999/2000 when Daunte Culpepper was drafted. Culpepper didn't see the field at all in '99, but what Dennis Green did do was have Culpepper quarterback the scout team which gave him valuable experience. When the 2000 season was in the books Culpepper threw for 33 TDs and 3,937 yds. When McCarthy was drafted and subsequently injured in the '24 pre-season. He was shut down completely, no reps, no running the scout team, nothing. In other words, he literally had zero game experience of any kind. And i think that's the mistake thats being made with McCarthy right now, because it's becoming clearer that he's not ready to be a starting QB in the NFL, at least not this year. And what's also becoming clearer is that the Vikings coaching staff has made a huge miscalculation on McCarthy being prepared and ready for the job.
Is it really dominating or was it that McCarthy was just terrible….I'll go with McCarthy sucking ass
Not only did I finally have a stress-free weekend watching football, I got to watch my dad go through the same heartbreak we went through when his eagles lost! Truly a perfect weekend
Lions are shaky,,They can beat them Turkey day. This win was a mini Super Bowl!
Either matt lafleur doesnt trust in Love and kept running the ball or he wants his star QB to take it easy and rest up for the Lions on Thanksgiving. The play calling on the offense was frustrating.
I’m embarrassed as a Lions fan they lost to 9, that was such a terrible game.
That intro was 🔥
Watching jj is so reminiscent of ponder
