Signs Klay is still in there & his slump is/has been a rhythm-based issue: 1. He’s shooting 46% on pull up 3s, the highest of his career. 2. He’s shooting 40% on tightly contested 3s while shooting just 26% on wide open 3s. If it were a declining talent/ability issue, it’d be the exact opposite.

  1. The last time I looked at his monthly splits (two years ago maybe) he consistently gets better as season goes on, and is on fire towards the end. So if he’s still heating up then that’s great.

What’s interesting is that the actions we run in the offense this year more closely resemble GSW than Luka ball.

However, except for Dlo we don’t have proficient setup guys for the offense to get actions moving correctly, get Klay the ball where he likes it etc.

Considering how under supported he is compared to what he needs I think he’s doing great.

  2. He’s been shooting a lot better recently. Given our PG woes I think he’s been fine and will get better. Hopefully will start really getting into form to up his trade value. We need his spacing if we want to compete, but we also know we’re not a competitive team and should be tanking and selling off guys for young talent and picks.

  3. most of his decline has been his offensive decision making imo, dude has had very questionable shot selection at times

  4. Yea, I may be in the minority, but I am not really onboard the “Trade Klay” train. I’d like to see how he and Kyrie play together.

  5. Every time I think about Klay, I think about how he would have performed with Luka feeding him.

  6. I don’t care about Klay’s production, he’s a great locker room vet and a fantastic teammate. I value and appreciate everything he’s done for us so far.
