  5. Yet they don’t seem to consider that Toronto may be getting guys like this because the team’s drafting and development has sucked for so long they don’t have enough players in the system to fill in roster holes …

  7. Roy has actually been pretty good before his injury would like more points from him but think it will come in time. Maccelli is just a different version of Domi so redundant and Joshua’s been pretty useless out there

  13. None of this is a surprise. The roster stinks. It was never a playoff roster. This was a full on botch job by Treliving. Horrible trades and worse FA signings.

  15. As a Flames fan I am empathic for you guys, Treliving is a master at eroding the foundations for delusional optimistic win now gambles.

  19. Idk I feel kinda bad for maccelli at times. I’ve seen him make some pretty nice passes, but the guy on the other end just fumbles super hard. Something I’ve noticed all around is the team never looks like they’re ready to receive a pass.

  20. I don’t disagree. Players like Roy, Joshua, Carlo, Jankrok. marccelli, and even Domi are useless.

  21. Going this long without a Cup tells me they are institutionally useless. They’ve accepted losing into their culture.

  22. People don’t have to like Overdrive guys but Leafs haven’t put themselves in a position where it feels like these guys are wrong. Leafs are a below .500 team and last in the east. They deserve every bit of criticism going to them.

  23. Personally Joshua is a waste of a roster spot for me, been really disappointed in him. Roy is what I expected, looks like 3rd line centre, maybe even 4th, but disappointed in what he’s contributed numbers wise. Maccelli was a bet, and we lost the bet. Oh well. Even fully healthy, this isn’t a cup winning roster; the organisation need to start thinking about what’s next. 

  24. This town needs to stop blaming the media. There are bigger sports markets with more attention on their teams than here.

    These talk shows are on every day because YOU the consumer keep tuning in. They have time to fill. Skip the 24/7 sports media cycle for a couple days a week. Seriously.

    If what the media says causes you to have visceral, emotional reactions, you might be wise to speak to a professional. There might be some stuff going on beneath the surface.

  26. This has been a lifetime of disappointment. 
    I was alive for the Leafs to win cups.  
    Suffered through the Ballard years, different interactions of doing quick builds, trading first picks for veteran rentals. Some exciting years with Sundin, Robert’s, Gilmore etc. 
    Shannan was a breath of fresh air with filling the pipeline with talent. He had the 5 year plan. 
    Marchment I heard said Toronto players (some guys) are selfish.  I agree with him.  
    I (we) don’t know what happens behind the boardroom doors or dress room doors. What ever it is it’s toxic in my opinion. 
    I’m a realistic Leaf fan. They are going no where this year or the next few. 
    I catch the odd game. The game I watched summed up the season.  Goalie pulled.  Your 5 best players should be on the ice. The sixth best player should come out to replace the goalie.  Who did they send….Max Domi. If that’s there top talent fold the tent now.  
    Because I don’t watch the Leafs like I use to I have cannot comment on how to fix the problem. I can though tell you where they came from.  
    Yet the Leafs still make money hand over fist, they always have. The fan base is very loyal which I stand behind.

  32. I knew the Joshua trade was going to be bad, played out like I expected it to be. Honestly, once everyone is healthy, Domi/Joshua are the two I healthy scratch to send a message.

  34. Auston injury 100% is the one from last year. And if it’s his back again he’s never getting back to Auston first few years in level of good.

  35. You can’t let Treliving go past Christmas. Fire him after the holiday break and hire Brett Peterson, assistant GM from Florida as your new President/GM.
