This family has stubbornly prioritized values and tradition over winning- we’re trapped in a bygone era. Commitment to loyalty delivers lackluster coaches far beyond their expiration dates and clinging to an antiquated playing style comes at the cost of progress. It’s evident. Look at the team’s subpar facilities and notoriously horrendous field conditions at Acrisure. We can’t keep churning through assistant coaches praying that’s going to fix the issue. We’re only fooling ourselves. The culture is whack and the only way to fix that is a progressive owner. It used to mean something to have the Rooney family own the team. Now, it should just be history.

  1. Stubborn is the best way to put it, I know firing Canada mid-season was like pulling teeth for him.

  5. Rooney doesn’t want to win he’s just happy to be here and wants Tomlin to feel safe and secure.

  8. Values and tradition are a steeler strength but that doesn’t preclude them from running a modern organization. It’s apparent they don’t want or can’t spend the money required across the board to do so

  9. Dan Rooney was the only successful Rooney. The team was garbage before him and the team is garbage after him.

  10. Rooney doesn’t want to be the one to fire a coach for the first time in 56 years. Scared to death of it. He would rather watch this mediocracy for another 10-15 years when Mike decides he’s ready to retire than be the one to break the stability streak.

  13. He’s weak and pathetic. Nobody takes him seriously because he lets people walk all over him. I believe that he is intimidated by Tomlin.

  14. Some of us have been saying this for a long time now.

    It’s one of the reasons why I’m resistant to outright wanting Tomlin fired.

    I don’t trust Art II to hire the right guy.

  15. I feel like they’d rather sell a story about this loyal old school franchise instead of actually be competitive. Idk if they ran some sort of marketing research and decided what we’re currently doing is just more profitable for the org

  17. Omg guys the team has the same record as the first place team and two games against them remain. Calm the fuck down.

    They don’t look spectacular but literally nothing is lost at this point. Debrief in the offseason after the first year in a few with a real QB1. It was a game we lost by a single snap, and the refs lost us at least two possessions and a time out.

  18. I truly feel our coaching hires are based on how cheap they’ll be and see if we hit the gold mine. 

  21. This sub is insane. All roads lead to tomlin. I could post about the grass at Heinz field and I would have a million angry responses about how it’s tomlins fault.
