Braves are "really encouraged" by Grant Holmes' no-surgery rehab from partial UCL tear. So far, no issues at all, it's gone as well or better than they had hoped. Won't know for sure until he ramps things up at spring training, but so far all signs are good.

  1. I may be wrong but it seems like all of these “No surgery rehabs” always end up with the athlete having to get the surgery anyways.

This is just wasting time and delaying the inevitable IMO

  2. No matter how it looks, treatment is always up to a player. I hope it works, but the successes of this rehab are low to say the least

Just do the surgery…I feel like this is just delaying the inevitable …

  4. Holmes is getting close to 30, and if he had gone through with the surgery, he probably wouldn’t have been back on the mound until around age 31. That was probably a big part of why he chose not to do it. If surgery ends up being unavoidable, he’ll still return at roughly 31 either way, the only real difference is whether he’s pitching early 2027 or later in the season 2027. But if the rehab actually works, he saves himself an entire year. It’s his career and his choices.

  5. The good news is he hasn’t started ramping up yet and can still feel his arm so the Braves are “really encouraged”….?

Did he complete a successful game of fetch with his dog in the backyard or something?
