Shedeur Sanders wins first NFL start for Browns, stifles Raiders | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC

You know, everybody’s not in the right everybody’s not in the best situation, you know, but it’s no excuse. You got to go out there and perform. Like, there’s no choice. There’s no question. Nobody cares if this was one week of prep. Who cares, you know? So, a lot of people want to see me fail and it ain’t going to happen, you know? It ain’t going to happen. Shidor Sanders after becoming the first Browns rookie to win his initial start since Eric Zire in 1995 under Bill Bich when the Ravens were the Browns. And I know I know Browns fans don’t Can we just keep it like they’re the Browns? Ravens were the Browns. The Ravens were the Browns. But the Browns were the Browns though. The Browns is the Browns. The Browns were the Browns. The Browns yesterday. The Browns didn’t exist for three years because that team moved out of town and changed its name. That team, that franchise is the Ravens. But the record stayed. It was part of the settlement and technically they’re the Browns. They are the Browns. The Browns. Shut up, counselor. All right. Your damn lawyer crap you’re giving me here. Technically, shut up. Sher Sanders completes 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. But the the defense was the story. I mean, it was so funny when this game when this game started, Jason Garrett said, “Are the Raiders playing the University of Miami, right?” I know it did look like that with them running out of the tunnel. It certainly did with the the white helmet. Um, but hey, Shadur looked damn good. Shadur did. And again, you know, he looks like he belongs out there. It’s not too big for him. That’s what we always look for. That’s the first thing when rookie quarterbacks play. Do they look the part? Is the game too big for him? me my my initial look of Shadur Sanders compared to Dylan Gabriel when he played his first game over in Ireland I believe right that was the Ireland game I I go Shadur Sanders it was London London but either way it although although the folks in Ireland would be upset if we said close enough right right in their mind it’s not far close enough but yet far enough away but either way yes do I think he looked more comfortable and belonged more than Dylan Gabriel yeah 100% you Uh Dylan Gabriel’s size, right? Size size is a skill and he misses that and it miss makes him miss throws and plays in the court at the position. Shadur Sanders again we saw he can hang in there. He can throw with a little pressure around him. Got outside the pocket was able to make some big plays there. You said it right. The defense was the story. They’re one of those defenses like you hear me talk about with the Texans. They can almost win the game by themselves if the offenses just help a little bit. It’s like oh my gosh. And then we’re sit here with go, hey, Shadur was awesome. They did some good things on the offensive side of the ball. Made some big plays, right? I mean, I don’t want to say it was awesome, but it was good. But but Miles Garrett is awesome. The defense is awesome. Miles Garrett is it’s incredible. He might be a guy that can go NFL defensive MVP and they’re four and 13. Right. Right. Because he’s he’s legitimately got a chance here to go, wait, he’s only five sacks away with five games left and he could break the Close enough. Is it is it six? Yeah. So, he’s got an extra game to get he it’s six games. Sorry. Sorry. I thought he needs five to break it. Yeah. Okay. Um there’s this weird dynamic that happens. Every Wednesday the NFL announces players of the week and it’s just somebody in the league office who like PR or whatever and they send them out and okay that’s fine. I remember we asked Taylor one time, what do you get for being player of the week? He said we get a sheet of paper. So, you know, it’s not it’s not like some huge honor, but they haven’t been giving it to Miles Garrett because the Browns have been losing. Like there’s this weird your team has to win for you to get it. You can still be a player of the week if your team doesn’t win. Yeah, that’s stupid. I don’t like that. He will be most likely defensive player of the year regardless of what the final round. He’s incredible. He’s unstoppable and it’s a shame that he relented on his desire to I’m sorry Browns, but he wanted out until they threw enough money at him to keep him around. He’s the best thing they have going and it’s incredible and it’s fun. It makes it fun to watch the Browns play and it was fun to watch Shadur play, but it was just the Raiders. Let’s see what happens next week. The Raiders are the by far the worst football team. They’re horrible. They’re horrible. It’s totally horrible. I need to drop to 32 in the power rankings. I I need to give the Tit the Tit because the Titans were respectable against the respectable Seahawks even though they only have one win. I’m going to move them up.   2. As a Browns fan, I don’t wanna hear no haters. I don’t really care what they say. I followed this team HEAVY for more than a decade now and I’m proud of the kid. Barely (if any) any reps with any of these guys that he’s playing with right now. Hopefully he continues to get better and I’m glad he’s gonna get another start

  3. No sir the Browns Defense can Not almost win them some games, Vikings L, Steelers L(52passing attempts 0 TD's), Patriots Jets, Ravens L-L-L. You need a QB1 that steps up and makes plays by stretching the field!

  7. Browns fans are always fanatical over new quarterback's. Always insistent that they are right. Just like with Johnny Manziele and Deshaun and every stop before and after.. This 5th Round pick has 1 TD and 2 INTs and a 50 percent completion ratio…And y'all are ready to anoint him. It is good humor. The laughing stock of the NFL.

  10. Sanders looks like a pro QB…I don't know if he'll be a good pro QB but he looks like one. Gabriel does not. He should start the rest of the year. Shedeur did a fine job game managing against the worst team in the league so anointing him after this is absurd. Let's see how he develops and does against a real team…luckily they have a pretty easy schedule going forward.

  21. All this Glazing for two 2-8 teams. Now one is 3-8 and the other is 2-9. The Toilet Bowl is officially over for the 2025 NFL season. DG aint the dude; Watson is washed; the jury is out on SS. However, let SS cook for the rest of the season, until he gets hurt, which usually happens to rooks.

  27. Cam Ward lost to the Raiders. How come nobody's saying oh the #1 draft lost to the worst team in football but when 5th rounder beats the Raiders, oh it's just the Raiders who Shedeur beat.

  31. Relook at the passes Shedeur made and the interception linemen are missing blocking. and look at the line how many missed assignments. When you watch Chase Danials break down he don't say it but he shows it. Some one telling the linemen to miss blocks call out lineman
