Over the past 4 games, Loveland has amassed 17 catches (20 targets — ~15% target share) for 262 yards, 15.4 YPC & 3 TDs. If he maintains his current pace, he’ll finish the year with 58 catches, 837 yards, and 8 TDs.

Compare that to Tyler Warren — over his past 4, he has 22 catches (29 targets — ~16% target share) for 223 yards, 10.1 YPC. If he maintains his pace, he’ll finish with 94 catches, 1,052 yards, 3 TDs.

Loveland’s role in our offense has obviously trended up (11% overall, 16% over the past 4), while Warren has actually trended down (21% target share overall, 16% over the past 4). Regardless, clearly a win-win situation for both teams.

Also, while Luther Burden may have replaced OZ at WR3, Loveland has actually been operating as the #2 (and most consistent) option in our offense lately — 2nd in targets, 1st in catches, 1st in yards, 1st in TDs.

Yes, Rome is still operating as the clear-cut #1 with 28 targets over the past 4 games (~20% target share, which matches his ~23% share for the year), but the future looks bright for Caleb and the trio of Rome, Loveland, and Burden. 🐻⬇️

(I put this together quickly, so if I’m wrong about anything feel free to let me know).

  1. Based on the way things are trending, I wouldn’t be shocked if at some point next year we realize that Burden and Loveland are our two top options in the passing game. I don’t think it’s the most likely outcome, but it seems pretty plausible.

  2. He’s our best non-QB offensive player.  maybe Thuney has an argument.

Absolute beast. Runs routes like a WR, blocks like a lineman.   Easy to target because of his height, plus an insane catch radius.  Unbelievable ability to catch and stay balanced as he comes down with the ball or even he takes a hit.

Top-tier blocker.  Can credibly scrap with DL on the interior when we ask him to, although we usually ask Kmet to do that if they’re both on the field.  Uses his natural speed and agility to square up second level blocks in space, never misses his man.

Going to be an every-year pro bowler sooner than later, and will threaten to reach all pro status in his prime

  3. Honestly might already be a top 3 player on the team. Him, Jaylon Johnson, and Joe Thuney are my picks

  4. I mean realistically, would you stop shadowing Rome or DJ to lockdown Loveland? He’s probably gonna go ham if Caleb keeps improving and actually starts hurting teams with the deep ball

  5. I’ll admit I wanted Jeanty, but when the Raiders took him, I wanted Tyler Warren. Wasn’t a fan of this pick initially, but Loveland has won me over. Can’t wait to see this guy get better & better.

  6. EDIT: can’t seem to edit the post but I realize I added an extra 7th game.

Should be Loveland: 53 catches, 771 yards, 8 TDs; Warren: 88 catches, 995 yards, 3 TDs.

    Both TEs still good 😌
