Nick Sirianni’s Eagles routinely make the postseason
It’s cowardly. Most of what they’ve done this season has been cowardly. The coaching on offense has been so mind boggling bad
Drives me nuts and he’s not the only coach in the league who does this. But his philosophy is so against taking risks while passing now, to minimize turnovers at all cost
They don’t trust the QB and are protecting his obvious limitations in the passing game. It’s best to run out the clock, run the ball, and play great defense.
The issue is, they can’t run the ball. The other issue is the QB is a limited NFL passer and can’t carry the offense with his arm.
He used to go for points in these situations before, correct? What happened? How did this coaching staff become so conservative and cowardly?
Good thing we don’t try on second or third and long either
Eagles think they can score 7 points and sit back and let the defense do all the work
Said it many times…
We have a Porsche with an old lady behind the wheel.
it wasn’t just 29 seconds with 3 timeouts, which is enough to get in range for a field goal. They could have used those timeouts on the previous drive and had about 1:30 left, the cowboys ran it down nice without us calling shit. It would have forced the cowboys to run to kill clock and hurt thier redzone throwing opportunities or made them score with more clock left. Shit coaching.
Been saying it what feels like the entire year (aside from the Rams game).
The first 10-15 minutes feels mostly normal, but the rest of the game feels like when you are watching a team protecting a lead with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. For hours.
It seems our entire philosophy on the offensive side of the ball is “play not to lose” instead of “play to win”.
We play a cowardly brand of offensive football.
Honestly, this is getting old. The Eagles aren’t losing because they lack talent. They’re losing because Sirianni keeps coaching scared at the end of halves. Five chances under a minute this season and not a single point to show for it. That’s not bad luck. That’s a mindset problem.
You can’t call yourself a contender and then repeatedly kneel on opportunities like this. Take a shot. Trust your quarterback. Trust your offense. Right now it feels like Sirianni would rather avoid mistakes than actually try to win. That’s the real frustration.
