This is super cool… but I do hate good goals getting called back on hair line fractures.
If it’s not egregious, the call on the ice should stand.
Ah the classic password taped to the monitor…
Single player could skate in backwards with puck and not be offsides if in possession and control.
Im confused why they celebrate after the ref makes the call, are they not the ones making the call and passing that down to the referees?
This is cool. I would love more of these.
They need to get rid of the offside challenge. It was implemented because of one egregious missed call. If the missed offside requires frame by frame video review to determine they are offside, it isn’t egregious and has no impact on the play.
Now show us the goalie interference review room so we know who to focus all of our anger towards.
I didn’t realize Joe Keery worked in hockey.
Geeze you would think they could afford walls? This looks like it’s set up in a janitorial closet overnight. Where’s the milk crates and plywood table?
Idk I still disagree with that call
Are these the two ass hats that called goalie interference in the Stars game last week??

A hair line offside is just making the game worse than better
This is the “Offside Review Room”. This is Ottawa’s video replay/review team.
I knew they were blind.
They got them sitting in a prison cell with those fucking cinder block walls
I expected multiple monitors or at least one big giant super high res one so you don’t have to lean in and squint to make the call. Jesus.
The general rule used to be that the puck carrier can’t put themselves offside.
But things may have changed.
Coming across salty like 3 years later but this ruling makes no sense in comparison to the Makar goal where they decided he did not have possession during a tiny little self-chip
I hate this fucking “possession” rule. If you cross the line before the puck, it should be fucking offside.
Why did they put trouba in the situation room
Worst fucking video review in all of sports. Why? Because only one team can challenge it. Can the offensive team challenge the call if the linesman blows the play dead at the line? Of course not. Then why the fuck do we allow the other team to challenge it if the linesman misses the call and 3 minutes later they get scored on? It’s the exact same call!! Why is it okay to get it wrong one way, but not okay if it’s a disadvantage to the defensive team?
It’s a judgement call that the linesmen get right 98% of the time. The 2% of the time they get it wrong, it has absolutely no effect on the game. Both teams continue to battle as if the play was on-side, so why in fuck do we allow one team to challenge the call?
Here’s a scenario: a team enters the zone offside, they immediately turn over the puck and it goes the other way and the get scored on. Can they challenge that the play should have been whistled dead because they were offside? Exact same call, but of course they can’t challenge it.
What’s even worse, I’ve seen clear indisputable video evidence that a play was on-side, and they call off the goal. I’ve seen clear indisputable video evidence that the play was off-side, and they call it a good goal. Then they make some idiot comment like, oh we had a different camera angle that the people watching on TV didn’t see. Bullshit. Why would the league set up separate cameras when the networks have a dozen different camera angles, and if you did have a different angle, why wouldn’t you show it to the TV audience? How hard is it to send a video link to the network so they can show the video?
It’s beyond stupid that we still allow this as a coaching challenge.
now show us the NFL….
I feel like I’m alone here, but video review is ruining the game
Ok now do goalie interference from the NHL’s POV
Why is there no overhead camera on the blue line or the goal line? Seems so rudimentary!

Strict dress code in the room, too.

This is the NHL, couldn’t afford larger screens?
I thought this was a poorly acted skit at first.
“Good Goal” Marek is cringing 🤣
