wonder how this is calculated, not saying we should be number 1 but wouldnāt this list kinda indicate that the Japanese players who get posted to come play in the MLB would all dominate ? That simply isnāt true

Canada is way too low for baseball
Sure, bro Japan is like a full third better at baseball than the US but the US is less than an eighth better than Germany at basketball. Take your rage bait and go back to fantasy land.
The baseball rankings don’t really mean anything…like there isn’t even really a point showing them lol
What does this even mean? Most of the best ballplayers come from the US. The best baseball in the world is played in the US. Japan is a distant second, followed by South Korea and most of the larger Caribbean and northern South America.

I’m enjoying watching everybody overreact to this.
Literally nobody cares about these rankings. These are two sports where national team play is not a huge priority.
In baseball it’s almost nonexistent in terms of the top level players and fan awareness. It’s an opportunity for young players more than anything. The WBC is a cool idea that perhaps MLB is finally committed to – but ultimately it’s still March baseball where the priority is getting ready for Opening Day. We simultaneously enjoy the WBC and cheer for our favorite players to do well in it, but don’t get that wrapped up in who wins the games. If it happens in 2029 then maybe fans will believe it’s here to stay and it will continue to grow.
In basketball we get jacked up for the Olympics once every four years but I don’t even know the rest of the international schedule. I know there are tune-up tournaments and friendlies starting about a year prior to the Olympics but don’t really follow them. I know France is going to be gunning to knock us off in LA like we did them in Paris. They will have Peak Wemby. It should be a great matchup.
But the rankings don’t matter. Only thing that matters is who’s still standing when the dust settles in 2028.

Itās because the baseball rankings are based on international playā¦.mostly without MLB players. So America takes a hard hit, but DR takes an even harder one. Either way though, itās hard to compare these directly
Biggest shock to me is Puerto Rico is on both listsā¦. Iām not shock with the top 20 baseball team, I am surprised by a top 20 basketball team.
