Today’s Chicago Bears Injury News Is GOOD & BAD Before The Eagles Game
The first Bears injury report of the week dropped and there’s some good and bad news to dive into on that front. Plus, who gets to start at left tackle this week, assuming Theo Benedict is healthy and ready to go. Is it him or Azie Trapillo? We’ll dive into that as well. My name is Harrison Graham. Let’s dive into Chicago Bears now. Uh we’ll start with the good injury news as both Jaylen Johnson and Kyler Gordon were listed as full participants once again today. Now important note, today’s injury report were estimation. So they did not go through a physical practice. They did a walkthrough. Tomorrow is going to be their only full practice of the week with it being a short week and playing on Black Friday. So tomorrow’s injury report will matter the most, but did just want to mention that. I still think there’s breadcrumbs to take away from today’s injury designations. Um, so that’s the question for Jaylen and Kyler. Do they play this week? You know, last week it sounds like they were close. Jaylen had was full on both Thursday and Friday. Kyler was full on Friday. They opted to hold them out. I think part of that decision was the short week coming up to play Sunday and have the quick turnaround after neither has played in a while. It’s a big ask, but since you missed the Steelers game, does one or both of these players return? would certainly be a big lift, right? Uh if you can get one of these guys back uh against Philadelphia, who’s having some issues offensively, but still a lot of talent, right? Kyler Gordon could help in run support, especially with how thin you are at linebacker. Jaylen Johnson could help against AJ Brown and Devonte Smith. So, we will certainly see uh if one or both of these guys can return. They were both full participants. And remember, they are still technically on short-term IR. So if they are activated, they will have to make a roster move or two to free up spots on the 53. Theo Bedet full participant as well. Missed last week with that quad injury. Travis Homer a full participant. I expect him back this week. Uh and then Kyle Manunga, I guess he got slightly dinged up on Sunday, but he was listed as a full participant with a knee injury. Now stay tuned here in a little bit. We’re going to dive into this left tackle discussion. Theo Benedict, Azie Trapillo. Does Trapillo get the nod for a second straight week? Do they go back to Benedict? How do they kind of feel about that? Uh, I think that’s a worthwhile discussion to have. But I want to ask you guys, who is more likely to play in this ball game on Friday? If it’s one or the other, do you think Jaylen Johnson’s more likely to play? If so, type JJ. If you think it’s Kyler Gordon, type KG. Curious what you guys think. Okay, let’s get to the bad injury news. TJ Edwards DNP uh was his designation estimation today. Uh that feels pretty likely that he’s not going to play on Friday, so it’ll be his fourth straight game miss, which is a bummer. Brad Biggs uh tweeting out that with TJ Edwards being estimated as a DNP by the Bears, it’s difficult to see a path for him to be available on Friday in Philadelphia. He’s been sidelined uh for too long since November 2nd. uh in terms of like if he wasn’t going to be able to practice today like is one practice tomorrow even if he was limited like is that going to be enough to play in a game on Friday? Probably not. Uh Big says the player to watch is Noah Sul. Could he potentially get back in this game which would provide a lift because they are very very thin at linebacker right now. Tyreek Stevenson was also listed as a DNP. Again, there wasn’t a literal physical practice but if there was, he would not have been out there. He left Sunday’s game with a hip injury and with the quick turnaround could be in trouble for playing on Friday. How does his status impact the decision to activate one of Jaylen or Kyler that that could be part of the math as well? Because if you don’t activate Jaylen or Kyler and Tyreek can’t go that means you’re going Nhan Wright, Nick Mloud as your outside corners uh with uh Jaylen Jones as your top uh outside backup. That’s that’s not ideal. Like one of Jaylen or Tyreek needs to play in this game. So, uh, we’ll see which one or both it ends up being. Other guys who did not practice in addition to TJ Edwards and Tyreek Stevenson, Luke Newman, who played 22 snaps on Sunday, uh, dealing with the foot injury. We’ll see if that’s a big deal or not. Thought he did some good things out there. Noah Suh with that elbow injury, who Bigs thinks maybe there’s a chance he could go. Ruben Hiplight with that shoulder. We’ll see on him. And then Dominique Robinson in the concussion protocol. I’d say his chances of playing are close to nil. Short week. It’s already nowadays with the new concussion protocols. Um there’s various steps you have to pass uh to completely clear and on a short week that that feels almost impossible. It it rarely happens from Sunday to Sunday if you’re in the protocol that you play the next game. It does sometimes. Cole KT had a concussion played the next week, but Sunday to Friday, uh I would be surprised if Robinson is available. Uh which thins you out a little bit at defensive end as well. And as far as linebacker goes, four of your top five could be out again. Tmaine’s on IR. Doesn’t look like TJ Edwards is playing. Maybe Noah Su, but was DNP estimation today. Um, and Ruben Hiplight DNP with the shoulder. So, DeMarco Jackson, a Bob Bamiga, they combined for 29 tackles the other day. Uh, could be those two again here on Sunday. More to discuss, but got to tell you guys about today’s show sponsor. That is Prize Picks. The best daily fantasy uh fantasy sports app is prize picks. You guys should check it out. It’s the holiday season, the best time of year for sports. Bowl games around the corner, basketball matchups, playoff pushes, it’s all happening at once. And while you and I are out here making decisions every day, what gifts to buy, what to eat, which games to watch, there is one place where it feels good to be right. Prize picks. I don’t know about you, but my seasonl long fantasy football team has been cooked for weeks. A lot of injuries. That’s why I love prize picks. You can pick new players all the time. you don’t have to worry uh too much about injuries. And by the way, if you lo if you have an injury to one of your players in your lineups and it happens in the first half and he doesn’t return, he’ll get rebooted. They’re not going to count that against you price. It’ll turn three-player lineup into two-player lineup. For example, if Roma Dun were to get hurt in the first half, knock on wood that doesn’t happen. Uh but if that happened and he didn’t return, I could still win a two-player lineup with prize picks. I got this three-player lineup right here today. More than half a passing touchdown for Caleb Williams. More than 46 and a half receiving yards for Roma Dunay. Less than 74 and a half rushing yards for Saquon Barkley. Just an example of what a Prize Pix lineup looks like right there. Download the Prize Pix app today. Use our code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That is code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It is good to be right. Okay. Who starts at left tackle? That is what I want to dive into here a little bit. Now, Theo Benedict listed as a full participant today. Again, an estimation. We’ll see what it looks like tomorrow. Does he or Azie Trapillo start at left tackle? Now, I would start Azie. I think most fans would start Azie. Theo’s been the guy though since the byee, right? So, and really since midway through that Raiders game. So, I I think it’s it’s easy for us to be, oh, you start Aussie clearly, and I did have a source tell me that it’s probably going to be Aussie for another week, but I don’t know if it’s as simple as you and I are making it. Now, this is a guy he drafted in the second round. I think in one game, he showed he is a better uh pass protector than Theo Benedict. I still think Theo’s probably a little better in the run game, though. Uh overall, I thought Aussie played really well in his debut at left tackle, but it is one game. Theo’s played in 10 games and he started six or seven, so he’s been out there quite a bit. Clearly, they’ve been fairly comfortable with him. Otherwise, they would have maybe considered a switch sooner because it’s not like he’s played awesome by any means. He’s done some good things, especially given what the expectations are. Uh I hope we get to see Azie uh out there. The good news here is if you start Aussie and he’s just overwhelmed or not playing well or whatever, you could always just plug in Theo, right? I mean, you could always put him into the game. You feel good about him at least as a run blocker. Uh it’s not like you’re stuck. So, ideally, both these guys are healthy and ready to go. But I said this the other day and I’ll say it again. I would basically flip what their roles were before last week. Theo had been the starting left tackle. Aussie Trapillo had been playing, you know, 8 to 12 snaps per game as a sixth offensive lineman, especially in running situations. Flip those roles. Aussie starts, Theo’s the sixth guy that has a role uh on a handful of plays, you know, 5, 10, 12 plays, whatever it is. And I think that makes more sense anyway because Aussy’s better in pass protection and Theo is better as a run blocker. And when you’re bringing in a sixth offensive lineman, it’s not going to be 100% of the time, but more often than not, you’re probably running the football. So that is what Theo’s role should be. Come in as an extra run blocker. Get out in space, be athletic, uh, and help push the pile. So, uh, that is what I would like to see. Have Theo ready to go. Like, hey, if Aussiey’s struggling, you know, be ready to go into the game. Uh, that’s the that’s the value there of having them both active. But I want to see more from Azie Trapillo. You drafted this guy in the second round. This is a big test against a good defensive line. Again, I thought he passed his first test against the Pittsburgh Steelers. See if he can do it again. If he can go out there and play well against Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Philly’s defensive line, back-to-back weeks, that that’d be pretty impressive for Aussie Trapillo. And again, if you get to the end of this season, you feel good about Aussie on the left side, you got a lot of flexibility in what you want to do in the draft, free agency, trademark it in terms of talent acquisition because you’re not necessarily forced to attack that left tackle position. Now, who should start? What say you? You know where I stand. I want to see Azie out there. Type Oz for or OT. Oz is Amade Zakius. I don’t think he’s starting at left tackle. OT for Azie Trapillo. TB for Theo Benedict. Let me know in the comments section below. And before we get out of here, uh just a few names to keep in mind for Philadelphia. Lane Johnson, Andrew Makuba are not going to play. Uh Lane Johnson, one of the best right tackles in the game. He’s not ready. Still injured. Uh Andrew Mak Makuba suffered a fracture in his leg uh this past week. He’s not going to play either. So that’s two starters for Philadelphia who are out. Adori Jackson, I’ll label him doubtful. He’s also in the concussion protocol. Kind of like Dominique Robinson. With with it being a short week, there’s just almost no chance he plays. I’d put it at less than 10%. Uh and then Reed Blankenship is questionable. And that’s a big one because with Makuba already out, if Blankenship couldn’t go, they’d be down their two starting safeties. Cydney Brown expected to fill in uh for Makuba. Now, Vic Fangio spoke to the media today. He and the Eagles expect Blankenship to play. So, uh, we’ll see, uh, what that looks like when the Eagles injury reports drop over the next couple of days. Uh, but that is a name to watch because you’re already thin on the back end with Adori Jackson likely out at corner and with Makuba out at safety. So, if Blanketship is out, three of your top five DBs uh, would be on the shelf this week. Now, their two best ones are going to be playing for sure and Quan Mitchell and Cooper Deene. Uh, but if Blankenship’s out, I think that’s a pretty big deal. Doesn’t sound like he will be, but I’ll label him questionable for now. All right, that’s going to do it for Chicago Bears. Now, appreciate everybody for tuning in to this episode. We will continue to keep you guys up to date throughout the week. Plus, uh, my guy Chase Senior and I filmed a joint preview. Who's more likely to play on Sunday? Type ‘JJ’ for Jaylon Johnson or Type ‘KG’ for Kyler Gordon
Jfc Edwards.
Eventually your going to have to replace them ,its sad but thats business for you in the Not For Long league.
Why you shitting on my day bro. Lol, hahahahahaha
They both comin back baby. Cj kyler jj nashown brisker byard and stevenson? No fly zone
Jaylon gettin a pick and gordon getting at least a half sack
If we do get jj an gordon back keep Wright out an could we put cj at will linebacker maybe so he stays on the field I think be a big brain move mt self until our line backers get healthy
7:00 to skip gambling
Both will play
If we are all healthy on the defensive front by the second game against green bay, we can make a serious playoff run. We need guys to pay careful attention to their health. We’re not playing to the offseason anymore waiting for the draft at 7-11 or 3-14. We are legitimate contenders, we need our guys to care about themselves like that.

I am confident in my bears I feel like eagles are gunna use that run game
OT
Both
5:29 you mean Friday
I'm ngl I think we can beat eagles without JJ and Kyler gordon..we should save them for packers gauntlet next month.
I might be biased because he was a second round pick, but I think you absolutely have to give trapilo the start. He was really good against the Steelers and they have a very good front four he was really good in pass pro and he wasn’t a liability and blocking he was above average. Theo is really good against the run but a lot of the time he ends up being kind of a liability in pass protection. I already think pass protection is more important for a left tackle than run blocking and Ozzy wasn’t a liability either way
Ot
Maybin needs to be elevated
JJ
OT baby
We have to cut Edwards end of year. Dude has had like 5-7 good games total and hurt all year. We did not break the bank on him but not worth what we are paying him
We need to bring 45 points of offense and see how many points the refs let us keep.
JJ for sure
OT
KG
Saquan going to run for 435yds
Both according to Chicago sports media
Is this Harrison Graham?…asking for a friend.
JJ
WTF is going on with TJ? This is the 4th game missed. They obviously didn’t expect him to be out this long or they would’ve put him on IR.
JJ
JJ
JJ
It should be Jalen he’s been out longer.
I like what Trapillo did in pass protection but as of right now Theo is the better run blocker. Wonder if coach still leans towards Theo knowing how much he wants to run the ball
I want everyone back dudes need to get the sand out of their pussies no broken bones no tears get on the fucking field
OZ like your call on rotation.
KG
We gotta stop Saquan who ever stops the run better. Ozzie or Phil.
JJ
The only way we beat the Eagles is if we keep penalties to a minimum (especially pre-snap variety), and don't turn the ball over. If we do that, we can hang with 'em . . .
Having the blessing and luxury of LT flipping options is great !! And depth chart game reps are also good and good playoff type game practice and team educational preparation !!!

This ILB unavailability is some B.S!
