Rock Report: ‘Want To’
The game gets bigger, faster, and stronger all the time. But one of the beauties of football, good oldfashioned want to is still tough to beat. [Music] Devonte Wyatt was want to personified against the Vikings. Here’s Micah Parsons playing what some teams call a spinner. and he and Devonte either fall into or running a stunt. Now, while Micah is knocking the Viking center right on his rear end, check out Devonte. Does it look like he has any chance whatsoever to score a sack? Me thinks not. But Devonte just keeps on coming. And then when Micah goes over the center and flushes the quarterback, Devonte is still on the move. He’s still alive. And he scores the sack at the goal line. Good things come to those who keep coming. Another example, here is Devonte Micah in that spinner roll. And this time they actually collide. Run into each other. And watch Devonte. He becomes what looks like the meat in a Viking sandwich, but he never stops coming. Meanwhile, on the other side, Rashan Giri scores the near sack. And when he flushes JJ McCarthy, Devonte, still on the move, is out there to score another sack at the goal line. Next, it’s McCarthy throwing a quick screen to Justin Jefferson in the open field. Yeah, the Justin Jefferson. And he has got open field and he has got blocker. Here is Devonte. And now we’re asking a defensive lineman to chase down the Justin Jefferson in the open field. You got to be kidding me. But Devonte’s want to is no joke. Look at him. Dead sprint and he gets out there just hustles his rear end off and he gets out there to make the tackle and prevent any serious damage. Good oldfashioned want to. It’s still tough to beat. [Music]
