Hit that sub button. Make the right choice today. Some good news for Philadelphia on the injury front on this Tuesday, November 25th. Vic Fanjo, Eagles defensive coordinator, one of the finest defensive minds in the history of football, speaking with the media today and he updated all of us on Reed Blankenship status. Left that Cowboys game with that thigh injury and the Eagles in that secondary had players going down like flies. Blankenship got hurt. Andrew Makuba on that big Dak Prescott to George Pickkins pass which set up that chip shot field goal for Brennan Aubrey. got rolled up on by Cydney Brown and so he has a fractured ankle. He’s going to go on injured reserve and the rookie second round pick out of Texas who’s played pretty well this year. He’s been one of the top rookie defenders in this draft class might be out for the year and so he won’t be able to play at that safety spot. Adori Jackson suffered a concussion on a short week with the Eagles hosting the Bears on Friday. might not be able to clear concussion protocol and so he might be out at that cornerback spot. And this Eagles defense against Green Bay against Detroit, they looked like the most dominant defense in football right up there with the Denver Broncos who were putting up as a team. Denver is unbelievable sack numbers. Against the Cowboys though, this defense really struggled especially in the second half where they gave up more than 250 yards. And for the game against one of the top offenses in the NFL, this Eagles defense 473 yards given up, 7 yards per play, 348 of those yards through the air, 125 yards on the ground. Philadelphia did generate two turnovers, but then the Eagles coughed it up and missed a field goal. So that’s pretty much three turnovers right there. And a concerning trend with this Eagles defense, they have struggled mightily giving up explosive passing plays off play action, especially passing plays of 10 plus yards. What did the Cowboys do? They exploited that. What did the Bears do? Ben Johnson likes to run the football and establish that ground game, but operate play action off of that. And so this is going to be a difficult task once again for this Eagles defense going up against a Bears offense that is eighth in points per game, sixth in yards per game, eighth in yards per play, eighth on third downs, 16th in the red zone. While we’re here, this is a Bears defense that hasn’t been superb this season. 27th in points per game, 27th in yards per game, 30th in yards per play, 11th on third downs, 26th in the red zone. They have gotten better though over the last couple of weeks. You know who’s really helped them? Who got a gamball a couple of weeks ago? CJ Gardner Johnson, who’s with his third team since winning that Super Bowl with the Eagles back in February. and Caleb Williams this year. The accuracy still a little bit of a problem, but he can rifle it in there with a great arm. He can make plays happen with his legs out of structure and does such a good job of extending plays. So, disciplined pass rush lanes going to be important in this game. He’s made some pretty solid decisions with the ball. He has 19 total touchdowns on the year to just four interceptions and he has 293 rushing yards to Jaylen Herz’s 298. Herd 17 passing touchdowns to one pick, eight rushing touchdowns as Herz has the edge there and then the completion rate Herz has the advantage there by about eight percentage points. And so if the Eagles can get and have Reed blanket on the field for this game against a really good offense while they are very injured in that secondary, it’s going to help out Vic Fangio’s unit. And you look at some of the numbers for Blanket Chip in here in 2025. I think he’s played better than what the PFF numbers show. But I think this is good if you want the Eagles to hold on to Blanket Chip after this year because I don’t know if he’s going to get a bag if other teams look at some of his numbers here. Or at least he’ll be more affordable for the Eagles if they want to retain him leadership wise, making big-time plays, being an all-around player at that safety spot. I do like blanket ship a lot as a player, not just because a lot of commenters think that I look like him. An older version overall PFF grade this year, 45.4, 89th among 94 qualifying safeties, but as a pass rusher, it can be utilized there, although he’s better in that back end and is used more so there. 67.8 the grade there. That’s 32nd. Run defense grade starting caliber 73.2. His coverage grade 34.9. That really surprised me. 93rd among 94 safeties. But over the years, as a guy who was a UDFA out of Middle Tennessee State, he’s made big play after big play. And in a game like this between two really good teams, a big play can sway the outcome of it. As for what Vic Fangio said about Ben Johnson’s offense, one of the better defensive play callers in the sport going up against one of the better offensive players in the sport, it’s a great scheme. Vic said they do a great job calling the game, mixing it up, marrying their run game and their pass game. Hello, Kevin Patulo and Nick Serriani. They’re highly ranked in a lot of areas and I don’t think it’s any accident. They’ve got really good players and it’s a great scheme and a great play caller. Ben does a good job of mixing up. They package things well together. They play multiple personnel guys and they’re under center a good bit, probably more than most teams in this league. Kudos to him and his staff for bringing that young quarterback along who I don’t think ever played under center in college. He’s doing a great job and they have fought through a lot of the pitfalls and now they’ve got a quarterback that is executing their offense the way they want to. And that is a credit to Caleb Williams. I don’t always love his body language. I don’t always love how he sulks on the sideline when things don’t go right. But over time, he has played better in Ben Johnson’s offense. So to round this out, if Blankenship plays, good sign, good news for this Eagles defense. If he does play, who will man the other safety spot? I think it comes down to two players here. And I think it’s going to be a rotation. Vanio said he likes what he’s seen out of Sydney Brown in practice. Of course, he’s going to say that. You know, with Sid, he’s going to bring physicality to the position. He’s not going to have as good of range as Andrew Makuba. He’s not going to be as good with his ball skills as Andrew Makuba. He’s a different player and more of a downhill thumper. That can help you at times, that can hurt you at times when he overpursues and takes himself out of plays. Michael Carter, the trade deadline acquisition, has been getting crossrained at the safety spot. He played a little bit of that against the Dallas Cowboys. And so, look out for him to play at that safety spot, too. Maybe a little bit of nickel when Cooper Deene goes to the outside. Fangio was asked about Deene playing on the outside. He said he got beat a couple of times, but the positioning was pretty good. Just couldn’t get to the football. And that happens sometimes. So today’s poll question is this. Eagles Bears Friday on Amazon. It’s going to be aired in 200 plus countries across the world. Going to be awesome. A lot of eyes on this football game and a huge one inside the NFC. Is it’s going to be a get right game for the Eagles. G for get right, L for loss. If you think the Eagles are going to lose, share your thoughts with me down in the comment section right now. Now, all right, let’s get to this here. Is Nick Serriani failing the 2025 Eagles? This was a topic of conversation that we discussed a little bit earlier today and this is something that we talked about in the aftermath of that Cowboys loss during the watch party during our postgame show, but something that has been simmering all season long because Sirriani preaches as the CEO head coach who doesn’t call plays and oversees the operation tough detailed together. He always likes to say, “Master the things that take no talent.” Well, penalties have been a problem all year for Philadelphia, and they have killed, in particular, this Eagles offense against the Cowboys. They had so many big plays called back by penalties. They had so many penalties that were avoidable, procedural penalties, and it really hurt them. 14 penalties for 96 yards. And the penalty issues, they’ve been lingering all year long. Penalties by game for the birds. Nine, six, five, eight, nine, four, eight, five, seven, nine, 14. That’s an undisiplined football team right there. That’s a sloppy football team right there. That is six games with eight or more penalties for the Eagles this year. Last year they had eight or more penalties four times in 17 games. And so you look at the Eagles penalty rankings. They are one of the worst teams in the NFL as far as getting penalized. They have 81 penalties this season, 26th in the NFL. Penalty yardage, 721 yards of penalty yardage, 27th in the NFL. Their penalty differential minus 20, second to last in the NFL. Their penalty yardage differential minus 156, 29th in the NFL. Their pre- snap penalties 31st, 25th in the NFL. Procedural penalties right there. And sometimes these penalties have happened in big spots, wiping out potentially gamechanging plays. This is bad for Philadelphia and it needs to be cleaned up against Chicago, but for the rest of the year. And if it doesn’t get cleaned up, the Eagles will not repeat as Super Bowl champions because you can’t win a Super Bowl when you shoot yourselves in the foot that often. 1. Most OC around the league would love to have the Eagles playmakers in their lineup. It’s a real shame that the Eagles went with a unproven OC this season and it shows in their pathetic performance!

  2. Shooting my guy Blankenship some bail money: Greg Cosell has spoken about Reed's seeming to play poorly this season because he's had to direct Jihaad Campbell on the field. He was able to breathe and focus on his own responsibilities a lot more with Nakobe Dean back.
