Mavericks Fans FINALLY Get The GOOD NEWS They Were Looking For!
Anthony Davis finally returning to the basketball court. It sounds like that could be the case. Welcome into Mavericks today by chat sports. Jeffrey Cooperstein here. Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving week so far. Tough one last night as the Mavericks lose yet another clutch game to the Miami Heat. I mean PJ Washington throwing the ball away off the inbound pass is just absolutely brutal and just some poor shot making. would have loved to see Cooper Flag take that final shot, but he made the right play. Pass it to an open PJ Washington. Couldn’t get it done. But today’s show, we are going to focus on Anthony Davis because it sounds like he is going to practice on Wednesday ahead of the Mavericks trip to LA to take on the Lakers. And look, he’s missed the last 14 games with the Cavs strain. We all know, it’s been well documented that Anthony Davis wanted to play a couple of weeks ago almost now on that Saturday against the Washington Wizards. Him and Nico Harrison were pushing for his return. The Maverick’s medical staff told him they don’t think he should return for fear that he could tear his Achilles. And Patrick Dumont ultimately made the call that AD wasn’t going to play until he was given the proper go-ahad, the clearance from the Mavericks medical staff for AD to come back. It sounds like that at least has almost come to fruition here. AD going to return to the court on Wednesday practice. Hopefully, we’ll see him on Friday against the Lakers. And by the way, of course, it’s against the Lakers. Who else could it be against when you’re talking Anthony Davis and Luca Donic and the Mavericks and the Lakers? He had to make his return after missing the last 14 games against the Purple and Gold, which will be a 9:00 p.m. tip off on Friday night. So, of course, if Anthony Davis does play, we’ll have you covered right here on the channel, and we’ll keep you up to date with all things surrounding the Mavericks. And you know, everything surrounding AD basically as far as his health goes pertains to the trade rumors that have been surrounding him throughout this season and especially since Nico Harrison was fired. There have been rumors that Anthony Davis would be moved by this February’s deadline. There’s been contrary reports from Tim McMahon from Mark Stein. And here’s the latest from Tim Bontms who thinks that there might not be a great market for AD and I kind of agree with Bonts to be honest. He said, “The idea of trading AD has everyone trained to think, well, they’re going to get three first, two swaps, they’re going to get two young players, and they’re going to get all this stuff.” I shouldn’t say it’s not going to happen, but you talk to people in the league, there’s not a lot of teams that are lining up to take on a 35-year-old AD making 63 million, and you got to assume he’s going to opt in to that deal. I absolutely agree with Mr. Bonds here. Look, I mean, there’s not going to be a lot of teams that are going to take on this contract right here. 54 million this year, 58 million next season, and that player option for $62.7 million in 2728. I think a team would be frankly insane to take on this deal if they are not getting a good part of the deal back or if they’re not getting a good return back, excuse me, for Anthony Davis. And that’s why the Mavericks are going to find it difficult for them to get the return they want back for AD. Like, I don’t see the Mavericks getting two first round picks in an Anthony Davis trade. I’m not sure they can get a good young promising prospect in a trade for Anthony Davis either. The only reason the Mavericks would be trading AD is to get off this contract and try to just build towards the future with Cooper Flack. I just simply don’t see a return that the Mavericks get where they’re like, “Yeah, I think we got requisite value for Anthony Davis.” They didn’t get him in the first place for requisite value considering they traded the best player in the league for him. However, it the Mavericks are basically going to be stuck with AD is kind of what I’m thinking here at this moment under contract for the next two and a half seasons. And look, the only way that the Mavericks get out of this deal is if Anthony Davis ends up playing games. Let’s let’s just get this out of the way right now. There is no world where Anthony Davis doesn’t opt into that $63 million. $63 million at the age of 35. You better believe he’s taking that. So, whatever team trades for him is going to be stuck with that contract for the next two and a half years. Is that worth is that worth trading for a guy who doesn’t play in over half the games? I don’t personally think so. So, Anthony Davis going to have to show teams and show the Mavericks rather that he is available and he has to build back some of his value. But you guys let me know down in the comments section as AD nears his return. Are you excited to see AD return to action? Type simple Y for yes N for no down in the comment section. This will be today’s pin poll. So you’ll see it at the top of the comments. Go on down there and get your votes and what you think. I kind of alluded to it earlier, but my hope for Anthony Davis is that he can string more than five games together at a time and try to build some of that trade value back to where the Mavericks could actually move on from him and get a little something for him. Whatever that even looks like, I don’t even know. But at this point in time, I I’m off the top of my head, I don’t know if Anthony Davis has played more than five straight games with the Mavericks. He obviously played in the first four and a half games of this season. He got hurt in his first game uh after the trade last year, then he came back. I think he played in four consecutive games if I’m not mistaken, but I don’t remember off the top of my head. Either way, he has not played in basically more than a week straight of basketball for the Dallas Mavericks, and that is just simply unacceptable. He’s got to find a way to stay on the court. Got to find a way to help impact this team in a positive way to show that if a contender really does want to go get Anthony Davis, he can be of value to them going forward. You got more on AD and the Mavericks here in just a moment, but this is why you subscribe because we have you up to date with all of the latest Mavericks news and rumors uh throughout the 2526 NBA season. Another tough loss last night, but that doesn’t mean the content stops. We will have you up to date with everything surrounding the Mavericks, AD, and the like right here on the channel. So, hit that subscribe button at youtube.com/mapsv. Not good, Jim. It’s not good. There is a trend going on with the Mavericks, and it is the reason why they are 14th in the Western Conference right now, which is five wins. They are 4 and 11 in clutch games this year. If you don’t know what a clutch game is, it means that the game is within five points in the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter, whether you’re up or down. The Mavericks have played in the most clutch games of any team in the NBA this season with 15. And they are just 4-1 with the 26.7 winning percentage, which is fifth worst in the league. It’s just not good what the Mavericks are doing here in the clutch. And yeah, they’re fifth worst winning percentage, but when you take into account that they have the most clutch games played, they have by far the most losses in the clutch at 11. And the they just find ways to lose. Like last night against the Heat when the Mavericks are in a tie ball game, they claw their way back. They’re really fighting hard and then they come out of the timeout. PJ Washington has the ball out of bounds on the right hash. They wanted to try to run a play to throw it in the corner and Bam Adabio is just sitting right there waiting for PJ to pass the ball and PJ throws a lob pass. What happens? Bam steals it. The Heat go up the court and score. like they just find ways to lose in the clutch. And that’s what bad teams do. Bad teams find ways to lose, good teams find ways to win. This Mavericks team is finding ways to lose in clutch time. And it’s the reason why they’re 4-1 in the clutch and they’re 5-4 overall, sitting 14th in the Western Conference. And what’s so annoying is that if you just look at the West standings, if the Mavericks were even average from the clutch, like instead of 4- 11, which is 15, let’s say they were seven and eight, this team would be in a playin spot. They would be firmly in a play-in spot if they were just average in the clutch. And that’s why the Mavericks believe that they can still go out and play to win games as opposed to fullon embracing this tank that most of us fans want this season because this team is so I guess close to winning these games. The Mavericks believe they’re able to win these games and the tide will turn in these clutch time games. But man, I just don’t see it because there’s just a total lack of execution down the stretch. When you have guys like D’Angelo Russell who don’t know how to play in clutch games and you have guys like Cooper Flag who is just 18 years old, hasn’t played many clutch games yet in his career. I mean, this is the first time he’s really dealt with adversity and had to play in all of these tight games. Like, you just don’t have the requisite pieces to go finish these games. And hopefully the Mavericks can find a way to start winning in the clutch because if they don’t it I mean they’re going to be, you know, wrongly embracing this tank because they’re going to try to win for too long and then they’re going to start tanking but they’re not going to end up with the top five pick. So it all goes hand in hand. You either got to find a way to start winning or you got to fully embrace it, embrace the tank and try to lose as many games as possible the rest of the season. You can’t be somewhere in the middle. Got to go one way or another. We’re going to talk about a guy here in just a moment that I really believe actually has a decent future with the Dallas Mavericks, but we’ll do that here before we tell you about our sponsor, which of course is Price Picks. The holiday season is here and shout out to Price Fix for sponsoring this episode of Mavericks today by Chad Sports. It is the holiday season, the best time of year for sports. Bowl games, basketball matchups, playoff pushes, it’s all happening at once. And while you and I are out here making decisions every day what gifts to buy, what to eat, which game to watch, there is one place where it feels good to be right, and that of course is price fix. I absolutely love Price Fix here. And one of my favorite new features on Prize Pix is they now have early payouts. If your lineup gets off to a hot start, you may now have the option to cash out those winnings before the game even finishes. Is your fantasy season already over? My team absolutely cooked. But with Price Fix, I don’t have to wait until next year’s draft. Price Pix lets you play fantasy football every week. Pick your favorite players and win when they hit their projections every week. No draft required. Here is my projection for Thanksgiving football. I’m going to take the more on Jared Goff passing yards, the more on Patrick Mahomes pass yards, and the less on Joe Burrow pass yards in his return to action. How do you play? Super simple. Download the PriceMix app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. One more time, that is code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That link is in the comments and description of today’s show. Price fix. It is good to be right. Here’s another reason why the Mavericks just really haven’t figured out, especially in the clutch, and it’s the offensive rating number. They are dead last in offensive rating in the NBA. 30th in the NBA at 105.0. Who could have seen this coming? The Maverick’s second defensive rating and 30th in offensive rating. This was Nico Harrison’s vision. He wanted to build the best defensive team in the NBA. Offense be damned. And that’s basically what he did because this Maverick’s offense is absolutely hideous. They just don’t have any shot creators out there on the court. And when they do, it’s D’Angelo Russell who is I’m just so done with watching. I think I said a couple of weeks ago I’d be willing to pay $100 to never watch D’Angelo Russell play basketball again for my team. I think I’m going to up that to $200 cuz he is just absolutely hideous. So hideous to the point they played Andrew or excuse me Ryan Nemhard over him last night. Like who could have guessed you needed PG play in order to have a decent offensive team. Go figure. I mean, it all of this stems back to the poor roster construction and just the the overall just poor, you know, philosophy that this Mavericks team had when they were trying to build this squad. Like, yeah, they’re good defensively. Unfortunately, in the NBA, it is an offensive league nowadays, and if you can’t score points, you’re not going to win games. Hence why the Mavericks are five and 14. But I do want to see more from Ryan Nehard because I really liked how he played last night against the Miami Heat. The undrafted free agent out of Gonzaga via Kraton. He’s on a two-way contract with the Mavericks right now. And I got to say, I really liked what I saw. Now, he didn’t shoot it well from the field, just two points. I believe he was just like one of seven from the field, but he also notched seven assists, got three boards, and was a plus nine in 17 minutes of play. And you know, as this season goes on and as the Mavericks maybe hopefully trend towards building for next season, I would like to see more of Ryan Nemhard on the court because I do think that the Mavericks have found themselves a backup point guard that can be on this team for a long time. I don’t know if he’s quite a starter yet because I just don’t know if his body is going to be able to take the amount of hits and the amount of, you know, just physicality that it takes to play 35 minutes a night. But I really do like Ryan Nemhard as a potential long-term piece at backup PG for this Mavericks team going forward. And I absolutely do want to see him playing over D’Angelo Russell. I’m just so done with DL. Like get him out of here now. Like I just don’t want to see any more of him. Do want to see more of Nemhard though because I do think that he can help contribute to winning down the stretch when this team is ready to win hopefully in a couple of years. So, the Mavericks currently sit 14th in the West right now, second to last at 5-4 on the year. Where will they finish in the Western Conference? I want you guys to fill in the blank down in the comments. The Mavericks will finish blank in the West this year. And oh boy, it is Mavericks Lakers up next on Friday, Black Friday, right after the Texas vers Texas&M game, which you guys know I’ll be locked into. But we got Luca and AD vers the Mavericks. It’s going to be AD’s second game against the Lakers. you know, he did not play very well in that game in April at the American Airlines Center. And of course, he will have the chance to go get revenge. I think it’ll be his first time in LA because he missed the game last year after the trade. So, it’ll be his first time back playing in Los Angeles against the Lakers. And we’ll see if that gets him fired up and ready to go. It would be cool if the Mavericks could go out in LA and beat the Lakers. I still think that would be awesome. It’ll be great to see Luca as well on the court visiting with some of old friends here with the Mavericks. So, that one is the next game and the Mavericks are off until Thanksgiving. So, you’ll see Mavs Lakers on Friday and then they play the Clippers after that as well. A little LA swing for the Mavericks there. But that will do it for today’s show, guys. Appreciate you for tuning in to Mavericks Today by Chad Sports. As always, hit that subscribe button at youtube.com/mavs TV as well have you covered with all of the latest Mavericks news and rumors.

LET ME KNOW! Are you excited to see AD return? Y for Yes, N for No
Let's go Mavs 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I couldn’t care less about AD. It was a garbage trade that can never be undone. It’s all about Cooper moving forward.
AD gets hurt stepping off the bus. Mark it down
That’s not good news we need to tank we need a top 3 to 5 pick!!
We can beat the Lakers now
Idk if this is true or just the Mavs building his value up. Maybe play him one game then trade him. But he needs to get traded NOW. Don’t let him touch that hardwood. Don’t risk him getting injured again
We can’t stand AD. Get him playing and trade his Ass. We are sick of this guy. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Thank you again the disgusting Nico Dumonts and the sell out Mark Cuban. Great job. Disgusting humans. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Put him on a minute restriction and trade him
Are they trading all three of them old guys and start a rebuild.
Is it part of the NBA players contract that a player's current contract has to be accepted by a new team he might be traded to? This apparent required obedience to a player's existing contract makes trading a player like AD terrible situation. It is sad that the Mavericks are being punished for a contract that they inherited from the Lakers. AD is just not worth the money in his contract.
I'd Give Him Off Until Mid December Because We Gonna Tank By Default And Kyrie Will Not Arrive Soon Enough! 🎱🎱🎱
Y
Let him come back get a 30 and 20 game.
Play lights out then trade him in the middle of the night😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😅.and I'm a laker fan😮😮😮😅😅😅
AD will get hurt his second game back..I guarantee!!!!!!!!this will happen 😮😮😮😅😅😅
Having AD on your team is just straight depressing because you know even if everything goes right hes still going down at some point and the point at which he goes down could be the playoffs like AD's done many times before. Only reason Lakers won in the bubble was because the NBA got 4 months off before continuing games. Every other season that is normal AD goes down at some point and tanks his team.
I hate that Feb trade as much as anyone. If you can get 2-3 draft picks (do it). Now if we do hold on the AD, I want to see how he does with guards who can get him the ball like a Kyrie or even a Ryan Nembhard!!!
Y'all afraid of truth, Harper, Skin call out Kidd & PJ, why?..PJ has improved but he handles too much then turns it over, streaky 3 pt shot, not the only one but Kidd needs more discipline this 3 pt jack style bad
They are going to have to a wait a contender might go for him if they need a big down the stretch….
Just get out of his contact. For expiring ones.
Play nemhard. We beed a top three pick.
We talk about ad. How about street clothes livlely.
He's goung to be worse than a bust. He never plays and always hurt and look how yiu g he is.
AD return and get injure again
Let him play he get hurt just tank the season he stay healthy we know he gone produce 🤷🏽♂️
N Can the Mavs hire Nico again so he can get fired again.
You got to play AD in order to trade AD. I still think Kyrie is the more movable player though. I guess they could be genuine and have no intent to trade AD, but I really doubt it.
No, Cooper should have taken it to the hole and tried to draw the foul and ultimately get the two. That’s exactly what Dirk would have done and that’s exactly what Kidd would have helped setup..
That being said… AD isn’t a threat and has nothing to do with ball movement. He’s trash and his name AD stands for “Always Damaged”
thats not good news trade him
Mane trade him and lively
Just trade him to anywhere whatever
We could win this game without AD but with him it will be extremely hard because he is a slow-moving ball hog. Without him we are very fast team third in the league.
