Probably would’ve had a better outcome with Embiid, PG and Vj playing in wheelchairs.
We’re really just fucked for the next 3-4 full years huh. Can’t get rid of PG / Embiid without losing valuable assets, can’t do shit with them missing 75% of their games. Embarrassing franchise. Maxey deserves better.
Interesting first game experience for me. By interesting i mean wow this team looked pathetic lol
It’s a coaching issue. Detroit had their entire starting 5 out for a game and they still won. Coaching and roster construction.
At some point this sub has to stop making excuses for Morey especially if we’re going to criticize Nurse and the players. He’s the GM and we’ve had multiple disappointing seasons directly related to his decision making.
Magic margin of victory +40 must have paid a pretty penny
[That really got out of hand fast!](https://tenor.com/r2iLYAcpLcU.gif)
This shit was so ass, it’s almost funny. This game just exposed how HORRIBLE our bench is. There’s no one to rely on besides Barlow and McCain. And even then, I wouldn’t be confident putting them by themselves against a solid team.
I genuinely think we have such a solid starting 5 in Maxey, VJ, Embiid, Kelly and PG, but you take out 3 of them and this team is falling apart. They can survive (and win) with 2 out, but not 3+
And there’s so many issues with our bench. The defense is trash, our offense is trash, but most importantly, we’re relying on Grimes to play 30min. He is statistically the worst player of the night. But honestly? I think he’s been the worst player of the month. He plays selfishly when Maxey is off the court, he’s a horrible horrible passer and he takes horrible shots! He kills any momentum we have and I need him out. Gordon and Broome are bad, but that was expected.
Morey might have lucked out with McCain, Maxey and VJ. But the rest of this roaster stinks. I think he’s 100% to be blamed for our bench issue since we can’t capitalize on quality bench players with the cap issue he created.
Nurse is a bad coach. That’s been a consistent issue. I won’t be too harsh because he genuinely had to deal with the worst roaster ever tonight.
Change needs to happen ASAP. This team shouldn’t even think about tanking because adding another rookie won’t fix the clear issues we’re dealing with
Not even going to sweat this game considering we were down 4 key starters going in and now are down Watford too. We’ve seen the Sixers win without PG or Embiid but seems like being down 4 (5 during the game) is the tipping point.
If anything this just shows how valuable those guys are because say what you will but a 40+ loss like that doesn’t happen and we have a much better chance at winning that game.
At least we’re down to 1 more Cup game and can get back on track from there.
Hopefully, we get some good news with VJ for Friday
Also it seems the Sixers have never played well during Cup games. Not that the Cup matters, I just find it interesting. It’s like these guys don’t want money!
No words for that slop tonight. I mean, seriously, what’s the point in buying a ticket a week out for a game like this with four key guys out, and one working his way back… terrible product out there.
Knew this game was going to be bad as soon as Maxey got T’d up. Doesn’t help with how many injuries we have but getting 40 balled at home is nasty work
Fire morey and nurse bring in bob to save this loser franchisee
I can’t believe they were had a lineup consisting of Sallis- Gordon-Walker-Barlow-Broome lmaoooo
Like imagine opening up your tv and this is what you see
Honestly man, losing by this much is disheartening but I’m not really expecting wins when we’re down 4 starters
This stretch is gonna test a lot of fans though haha, its chill to say rest Joel and PG for however long they need when we’re still winning
Let’s say things don’t turn around for the better this season…
Would you trade the Clippers pick and swap for our own pick in the upcoming draft (that’s looking very deep), or is that dumb?
I’m just kind of at a loss for words with the current state of the team.
I think after a second consecutive season of this bullshit directly due to the decisions Morey’s made, there’s just no way he has a job after this year. They’re not even going to own their pick this year or possibly 2028.
Unfortunately, if the next 3-4 years are throwaways, I think they have to entertain some tough decisions like trading Maxey. Maxey has been sensational, but they have the two worst contracts in the league. They really fucked him over. When you think about it, what even is the point of driving Maxey into the ground for the next 3-4 years only to be a .500 team? It sucks they’re even in this position and it has nothing to do with Maxey not being good enough – it’s an indictment on Morey.
This game legitimately triggered PTSD flashbacks of last season

This organization just sucks. Plain and simple. How many franchise players have they failed to build around? They’ve had Dr.J, Charles Barkley, Allen Iverson, Joel Embiid, and only 1 championship to show for it. At least Maxey might have something with VJ next to him, but I doubt they’ll make it work.
Detroit were 6 games above .500 as the 6th seed last season.
Think being only 2-3 games above this season will get you the same result.
They’re on that pace, more or less. Not anywhere close to giving up just yet, but fuck me is having a healthy team in 2026 the only Christmas present i want.
I went to this game. Would have been the worst 76ers game I ever went to but hey, I caught a T-shirt and got an autograph from Jared McCain, so it’s not too bad
VJ’s probably looking at this team like “damn they can’t win without me”
And he’d be right lmao, 0/2
getting out rebounded offensively and they need big man
I’m going to get downvoted for saying this but for the people who think that if we fire Morey that this team can be fixed are crazy. We have seen that Maxey is a star, that VJ has talent, if HEALTHY Embiid and PG are good to great players, Mccain is starting to look like he did last year, before he was injured Oubre was balling as well, and we had great depth in Grimes, Bona, Drummond, Barlow, and Watford,
Now I feel like the training staff is being way to cautious. It feels like we are saving these players for a time in which they are 100% pain free and it is like saving items that you are never going to use out of fear of maybe needing it in the future.
People want us to trade these pieces away but no one is going to take players who don’t play. I mean the effort you would have to do just to match salaries would decimate your team for a player who you don’t know would even play. So we have to start using PG and Embiid and stop babying them or there is nothing for them to play for when they are healthy.
Maxey once again proving he’s overrated
VJ is just a winning player who makes others around him better. Maxey just a shot chucker like Luka
I don’t have any positives to take out of this one, If Morey wasn’t good at drafting, i’d want him gone
We are going to be the Mo Cheeks/Doug Collins Sixers at best until we finally shed the Embiid/PG contracts.
This is what I almost didn’t want Brother VJ to get picked by our sad franchise.
He’s a great kid. Deserves better then these bums
People keep saying “ we were down 4 starters what do you expect”. Have people forgotten what a starter is? A starter is someone who starts the majority of games throughout the season.
Embiid and PG don’t play nearly enough to be considered starters for this team and probably never will.
Only thing I can hope is that Grimes is slowly but surely losing his spot in the rotation to McCain
