So, Fabian, how does it feel being back in the city, back in these buildings among your friends and some ex- teammates? Yeah, I mean excited. Uh, it’s going to be fun to play tomorrow and uh yeah, like uh like I said, it’s it’s excited to be back and uh I’m really really pumped. So, what do you miss most about uh San Jose? Uh, that’s a good one. Yeah, you know, we’ve heard the stories of how you guys found out with the, you know, the sauna and and um I think it was Rasmus Sandine from Washington. Just walk us through what happened that day and just the emotions. Uh I mean, everything happened so quick, you know. Uh so yeah, uh I got that call and and uh didn’t really think that much. It was just uh go home and pack my stuff and uh um yeah, my phone was ringing the whole day and uh um yeah, trying to prepare for uh the next thing to do, you know. So, uh no, but uh I mean it’s happened so quick so you can’t really like put in a word for it. What was the the Stanley Cup playoffs like for you? Obviously, just going from the Sharks when you knew their struggles to making the playoffs and and being in that series against Mavis. What was that like for you in your career? Yeah. Oh, yeah. It’s uh biggest thing. I mean, uh play a Stanley Cup playoffs, you know, it’s one of the toughest, hardest, and most fun thing to do. Uh uh everyone wants to play. Everyone wants to win. Uh so, uh to playoffs, it’s uh it’s a really fun hockey. What what about Ottawa this year just gets you that excited to get back there? And then just where is your game at right now? Yeah, I mean we all feel like we’re we’re going good right now. Uh we fit each other really well and I mean we just kind of continue to to do that and we know it’s a long season, a lot of games left, but uh uh if we do the right things on a daily base like we we always do uh we’re a fun group and uh we like to enjoy it together and I mean uh when we do that we know we’re going to have success. Speaking about that, you had Lars on the line with Dylan last night. What did you like from Mars’ game that helped you guys? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he’s been around in the league for years, you know, uh he knows how to handle pressure and stuff out there. Uh so, uh definitely it’s easy to play with him. And Dylan has as well had a lot of shots last six shots last game. What worked for him specifically and how can you help this game as well? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he’s uh he’s a tank out there, you know? Uh no, he’s he’s driving the puck really well through the middle and uh uh he’s having a really good shot, too. So, he likes to use it, which is good. And I mean uh uh for me I just going to be at the net front and uh screen the goalie and trying to ride the momentum from last night going into a team you know well of course tomorrow night. What’s the key for the group going into tomorrow night? Uh no I mean just be ready you know uh we’re going to be on a toes right from the hop and uh just uh yeah play our game and then everything will go well. For uh Willie Meckllin I think it was tough when you left because maybe it’s his first experience like a really good friend leaving a team. Was that kind of a similar experience for you too? just the relationship you built with him here in San Jose. Uh yeah, I mean of course it’s it’s sad to leave one one of your best brothers, you know. Uh but uh I mean at the end of the day it’s the business too, you know, and uh it’s not the last time we’re going to see each other, you know. So uh I mean we kind of kind of grew from that, you know, and just uh yeah, we we were we were hanging out in the summer a couple times, too. So I mean it’s it’s fine right now. Have you seen his game grown uh grow this year? Uh Gorski has said that he looks like a guy on a mission this year. Maybe a mission to try to make team Sweden, but just what have you seen from his game this year? Uh yeah, I mean he’s he’s always like a a guy that wants more, you know? Uh he wanted to he’s a competitive guy that likes to compete out there and uh never give up on anything and uh uh yeah, it’s fun to watch him out there. If a Yan Garpinoff or whoever the GM of Sweden goes to you and says, “Why should we get William on his team?” What do you say to him? Uh ah he’s he’s a great player. You can trust him all over the ice and I mean it’s uh a great piece in the team. What would it mean for you if you get a call to go to the Olympics? Yeah, that would be exciting. I mean uh it will be one of the coolest experience uh in my life and I mean play Olympics that would be would be really fun. If you could do it with Ekin, would that just be is that like a dream come true that you guys maybe talked about last year at all? Uh yeah, of course. If if I’m there and he’s there that would be great, but I mean uh we I hope Sweden wins, you know. How often do you guys get to talk at least on the phone or you know I know with the schedule is pretty difficult but uh yeah, we try to talk a lot. I mean uh it’s it’s hard. We play in different schedule, you know, like you said, and time change too and stuff. So, I mean, it’s it’s a little bit different, but uh we try to talk much if we can. And uh yeah, just for yourself this season and maybe the scoring hasn’t been quite what you want yet, but do you look back to your experience in San Jose when you first came here too, you struggled a little bit, but then you started to put it together. So, you kind of look back on that and I can, you know, do that again. Yeah, I mean I I know I can I wanted to score more. I know, but uh uh at the end of the day, I mean, I’m a human being, you know, that have feelings and stuff, too. So, I just wanted to go out there and and play my game and I if I do that right, uh I know everything will come. So, I’m not panicking and anything. I mean, we still get uh get the wins done, you know, and and I try to do my best out there to help the win to team to win games and uh yeah, that’s my main focus and everything else will uh will come. You got a close look at Mlin Celery last year. I’m sure you’ve seen everything he’s done this year. How do you guys defend him tomorrow? [Applause] Uh I know how, but uh and I would just tell a lot of guys that in our team, you just going to keep Is it something that’s got to be a team effort or you guys going to try and just put two guys on him at one time? No, I mean just players like him like uh um you got to be close to him, you know, like you got to going to take take away time and space from him and uh yeah, he we know he he can shoot, he can do do it all out there. So, we’re just going to be be close to him and uh yeah, last couple years in San Jose were really really tough just overall for the team, right? Just a lot of losing, right? just how nice was it for you to go to a place last year obviously make the playoffs or just winning is expectation kind of Yeah. Yeah. I mean it was excited for sure. Uh it was it was fun to win to win games. Uh uh but yeah I mean uh that’s that’s why we everyone plays. We want we want to win you know and uh uh when when we don’t it’s it’s not fun. and uh and yeah, that was for sure fun to to get to a team that was pushing for playoffs, got into playoffs and play playoffs hockey, too. So, uh yeah, for sure. So, Clev, you scored your first NHL goal almost a year ago here in San Jose. Uh what was that like just going back to that moment? A lot of happy guys on the bench. Yeah, it was a pretty special moment like you work your whole whole life to, you know, score a goal in the NHL and um I mean, yeah, I mean it was pretty awesome to see them your action from my teammates as well. they know that uh you know how much that means to me and um yeah hopefully we can do that again tomorrow looking back on that as well. What have you seen from the trajectory of your career personally from that moment up until this point and the growth that you’ve had over the years? Yeah, just trying to get more comfortable as we, you know, play more games and um understanding the systems and the structure of the NHL and um you know, I think that, you know, the more games that I get, the more comfortable I you know, get back there and, you know, try to make good breakouts and um I try to, you know, get good hits too and you know, that’s kind of grown over the the time that uh you know, I’ve played here. Big win last night, of course, against Anaheim. What’s the key now to carry that momentum going in tomorrow night to up against San Jose? Yeah, San Jose is a good team. They’re they’re playing good hockey right now and um I think that we just got to bring our game, bring a full 60 and um you know, play fast and hard and um you know, go we go out there and do that, we’re going to have a good chance to win. You spoke yesterday as well about playing in the offensive zone and being on the offensive attack as much as you can. Does that once again apply to a team like San Jose that plays fast as well? Yeah, I mean the more, you know, time that we keep them out of our zone, you know, the better obviously. So, um, you know, they’re a younger team and, you know, if we can keep them in their D zone and, um, try to break them down that way, uh, you know, I think that we’ll have a good chance for reps as well now with Jordan specifically on a on the second D pair. What have you liked from your game? You guys have spent some time early in the year, now some more consistent time here. What have you seen from your two? Uh, yeah, he’s a fun player to play with. He moves the puck really well, gets up in the rush. Um, I think that we’ve been learning to, you know, have a little bit more chemistry in the Ozone, uh, as the games go on here. But, um, and in the Dzone, too, we’re talking more and just, um, it takes time to understand how, you know, other players play and, um, especially as a defenseman. But, I think that, you know, the time that we spent together, we’re growing and, um, I think that we’re getting better every game. match momentum. No, exactly. Why? Why exactly?
