Houston Texans Finally Get The News They’ve Been Waiting For…
All right, let’s talk some Texans football. Hey, if you are new to this channel, my name is Craig. Me and my buddy Chris started this a few years back. Um, after we actually started our first channel, which was Sports Talk Detroit, we are Detroit Lions fans. We don’t ever uh I don’t think we ever do a video where we don’t say that. But what we love is the NFL, especially those teams that the national media ignores. So, for example, don’t worry, you will never ever ever hear us do a Cowboys video on this on this channel, but we love teams like the Texans. My brother-in-law lives in Houston as well. And uh it was something that we hopped on and before it was cool. We hopped on this Texans thing and we’re talking about the potential of this team before Stout even started a game uh for this team and just kind of the excitement that was hovering around it. And I honestly think we’ve done more Texans videos than any other team that we cover on this channel. And I think the Texans are finally getting the news that everybody was waiting to hear. And that news comes in something that is very, very simple, which is the uh playoffs. And even more so, the division is absolutely in your reach. There are six games to go. You are two games back. But it gets even better. I’m going to talk about that later in this video. It gets even better than that. But you are two games behind the Colts. One game behind the Jaguars. And I don’t know why, but I also just don’t take that uber seriously. Here’s the the the Jaguars. I mean, here’s the other thing about this. You have played four games already. The Jaguars and the Colts have only played two games. They’ve only played two games. You’re already three and one. And those two games that you have remaining are against the Colts. It’s against the Colts. And that’s a good thing to have. That is a good thing to see. And so when when looking at your schedule and what’s left, obviously this Sunday, all right, 1:00, you go to Indianapolis. This can be a statement game. All right, I want you to picture what where you were last week. I want you to think about where you were early last week. Thursday’s coming. You had just barely barely beaten the Tennessee Titans, right? a team that should be in the bottom. You’ve already beaten Jacksonville. You’ve split with them, right? Um I believe you’ve split with them. Yeah, you lost the first game, you won the second game, both by seven points, by the way. You barely beat Tennessee, and then you’re sitting there and you’re like, “Oh, we got Buffalo, and then we got the Colts, and then we got the Chiefs.” And it’s just like, “Oh my goodness.” Like, “This isn’t good. We’re five and five. We’re looking five and eight right down the pipe.” And then all of a sudden you beat Buffalo and now all of a sudden you’re like, “Oh, wait. Now we get the Colts.” Do you see the difference there? Let me know where your mindset was, what the difference was before the a win at Buffalo and after the win at Buffalo, you went from a what percent chance of thinking you’d make the playoffs to a what percent now chance do you believe you have at thinking you make the playoffs? I also wanted to say um you know the other side of this is what percent chance did you think you had to win the division and now you beat Buffalo a team that’s not even in your division. What is the percent chance you think you have now? Right? Because you have the Colts two more times. That allows you to do something very very special. All right. That allows you to do something very very special. So, what I want to continue talking about in this video is a couple things that Demo Ryan talked about in his media availability. And one of the things that he talked about was the what goes into building a quality defense. Um, just such a standard random question. First question is, hey, is CJ Stra going to start this week? Right? And of course, he’s like for us right now CJ and Jaylen are still in concussion protocol. Whenever CJ is back, ready to roll, he’s been our starter. He will be our starter whenever he’s back and ready to go. All right. So, that’s no more questions on CJ. The only question is when will he back be back? And we’ll know more on Wednesday. Okay. Now, the next question, what goes into building a defense? And here’s what he said. I will read it to you. Says, for me, you talk about defensive football. It’s just about everybody really playing together. That’s the one thing I believe. True defense, when you’re a good defense, everybody’s playing together. Everybody’s communicating well. Of course, you have to be fast, physical outfielder who’s flying around to the football. That’s what we have. Starting with our guys up front. They’re the key to what we do. They’ve done a really good job of it. when we do cover them well in the back end, having those guys have more time to get after the passer. They’ve shown that they can be very effective at that. So, it’s kind of a unique answer. Basically, what he starts with, I mean, obviously, he’s not going to get technical with it. He’s not going to give up trade secrets or anything like that, but he talks about just his true belief is that everybody has to be playing together. Everybody has to be playing together. What he didn’t say is it helps when you have two of the best defensive ends in the league, right? And I love that he gives credit to the back end and the back end has been playing well. But what goes into good defense, if I’m being honest, is I always talk about this. It’s complimentary football. And a lot of times when we talk about complimentary football, we’re talking about from the offense to the defense. Is the offense playing well and is the defense playing well? Are they complimenting each other? Well, well, let’s talk about that for a second. on the defensive side of the ball is the defensive line producing enough pressure that the secondary doesn’t have to hold up in coverage long enough. Right? And when the defensive line is struggling to get pressure, is the secondary holding up long enough so that it allows the defensive line to get pressure? those that’s the complimentary football of it. And the linebackers, by the way, because I know I talked about the front and I talked about the back end, but I didn’t talk about the middle. I didn’t talk about the linebackers because the linebackers are part of either one of those. They’re part of either one of those. Um, especially when it comes into the run game, they’re either blitzing or they’re dropping back in coverage. So, they become part of the front four or they become part of the back end depending on what the play call is. Here’s the thing that the Texans have going for them that the Indianapolis Colts do not have going for them. The Houston Texans have been there before. The Houston Texans have won this division each of the last two years. The Houston Texans have playoff victories, right? What have the Colts done? They’ve come close, right? They’ve come close, but this isn’t a team that has finished out a regular season with this current iteration of it as a division champ. So, yes, you’re two games behind. If you were a betting person, would you probably favor the Colts in this uh scenario? Probably would, right? Because they have a two-game lead, but that two-game lead can be evaporated just like this. And the Colts are going into a more difficult part of the schedule. And it has been proven now, especially in the last few games, in the last few games, that if you can stop Jonathan Taylor, you can you can really, really slow down the effectiveness of this offense and you have in the Houston Texans the great equalizer, which is a fantastic defense. Fantastic defense. This will keep you in any and every single game. What’s your confidence level? Let me know.

I'm 50/50….I would be a lot more confident if I knew CJ wasn't going to hold onto the ball too long, and run backwards 15 yards trying to extend a play that's not there. If he can come in and have the line hold up so he can stay in the pocket with protection, or get rid of the ball…We can beat anyone.
im by houston. i think i like your channel more than ours down here. =)
🤘🏽
appreciate the texans video, would even like other lesser talked about team videos.
Before the win in Buffalo it was honestly hard to even have playoff hopes, after seeing our Defense that night, I have a hope hard on. xD CJ Stroud needs to be HIM on Sunday.
Straight up had 0% confidence we’d win against Bills. But after seeing that dominate defense slaughter Allen I’m at a 80-90% belief we’ll make playoffs ….. if they keep up that level of play🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Our defense went from "Wow, they are good" to "Holy shit, they are a championship caliber defense!"
I don't think Chief's can beat this defense.
Colts while overall good jave a clear formula to ebati them. Stop Taylor a d they fall apart
If we beat the Colts Sunday, our chances goes up tremendously. cause our last game is at home vs the Colts!
How many throws did Mills miss? I wil wait
The colts can run the heck out of football. Taylor always has a great day against the Texans😢
Thank you guys for following the Texans! It’s a fun ride!
CJ better ball out or he's done!
Specifically to the question of what I thought our chances were to make the playoffs prior to Buffalo, and then following: 1st: Yes, before that game, the feeling wasn't great – but based on several things. 1. CJ wasn't playing. 2. Fairbairn had been out several games. 3. New of Joe Mixon not coming back. 4. The offensive line still had/has things to prove. Following the deconstruction of Josh Allen because of the defense, and the fact we play Indy twice, and CJ is coming back, and the offensive line is looking better given the quarterback time to throw – the outlook is better. Let's not kid ourselves though. Every game for Houston right now is a playoff make or break. Lose to the horseshoe going into Kansas City and the outlook will be lower again. Beat Indy and the outlook going into KC will be better. Let's not overlook Jacksonville. They still are between the Texans and first place. So hold on to that bull, because the rodeo is a comin.
Thank you for not talking about the cowgirls
Thank you for covering the Texans , Our defense means we can defeat anyone no matter who is at Quarterback ..keep up the good work guys..and Go Texans
Keep up the good work on the Texans. I'm a Lion's fan so we're both on the same page

This is the best defense the Texans have ever had in franchise history. And that’s saying something because the JJ Watt led defenses of the past were very good, but the secondary was always a weak link. This defense is elite in all 3 phases.
Cool Chanel. If you cover the Texans I’ll definitely watch your channel
My faith in the Texans making the playoffs was 25% before the Buffalo game, 75% after …

I am hoping the Colts have existed on smoke and mirrors + easy schedule.
