With that, we welcome on to the program our guy Robbie Sabbo in his weekly Tuesday spot. Robbie, how we feeling? The Jets showed some fight for about three quarters or so. They ultimately lose, but I know you look at some of the positives from this game. So, why don’t we start there? Give us your initial feel 48 hours removed from that loss in Baltimore. Yeah, Jake, what’s up? As maniacs, you know, I don’t want to I’m nervous about encouraging the full Aaron Glenn folks out there in which he can’t do anything wrong, but dude, the positives are the coaching at a fundamental level. I keep harping on this. When you watch the game plan, how they came out in Baltimore, when you watch the first quarter, second quarter, tremendous stuff, like responsible pass rushes against Lamar, good coverages that fit with the run scheme or how many guys are rushing the games up front, and most importantly, they they stopped the run. They came out in in a look still a four-man front, but they put Phillips more on the nose tackle, more in a one tech, and that created a big gap between him and the edge, who was mostly McDonald. They were daring Baltimore to run wide all first half. That was the game plan. Run wide, try to beat us wide. Baltimore tried, couldn’t do it. So, from that perspective, I love the game plan. Unfortunately, at halftime, Monk and and Baltimore switched things up and said, “Let’s just go straight ahead to start the third quarter.” Henry, straight ahead, power maul, you try to push you back and it worked and they couldn’t adjust. Uh, but that’s uh hopefully they could fix that later down the line. To me, the quarterback change absolutely worked. It was the right move. I understand they only scored 10 points, but just as far as how they operated, uh, the better evaluation we now can get on some of these receivers, including a guy in John Mchi, who reminds me of Jeremy Curley, like it feels like we might have a legit slot receiver for next year. Him. Mitchell, I think could be a part of the wide receiver room going forward. So, I like that. Uh, I I like the game Brace had, too. It’s disappointing he had that fumble. I feel for him, but I sent out a tweet this morning. I think beyond figuring out the quarterback plan, the other biggest priority for the Jets should be retaining Brace Hall, whether that’s tagging him or working out some sort of contract extension, he’s the catalyst for this offense. And Tyrod did a it did a much better job than Fields has ever done, checking it down to Breeze. And Bree made plays that some of the play calls weren’t designed pass plays to Breeze. It was most won’t be. Let’s check it to him and let him make a special play. And that’s what he did a couple times on Sunday. Most won’t be to running backs and that’s the entire point of a running back receiving the ball. I mean, yeah, you could set up screens, you could do certain things that isolate the running back, but it’s not when fans ask why don’t they ever do this, throw it to Bree, why don’t they ever do that? Most of it is up to the quarterback. Like, you know, bestlaid plans in football is is a you know, it hovers over you at every turn. It’s always never perfect when you’re trying to game plan and map something out. Um, and I said this on Sunday, too. Bree loved his game. The fumble was tough, but what are you going to do? I loved Glenn’s response. I said this on Twitter Sunday. The O line coaching has been tremendous. I’m starting to think about from a fundamental level with the coaching. The O line’s been tremendous. Dline’s been pretty solid. linebackers is the toughest job because trying to get these linebackers Quincy and Sherwood to switch from the previous scheme instead of being hair on fire downhill downhill downhill to more you know assess read and react very tough bree if we watch him run previous to this year he was Barry Sanders he was home run or nothing he felt the world on his shoulders like he had to make a play on every play the coaching job they did with him and credit to him for being coachable to get the dirty yards, you know, get three, four yards here when when you’re going to be stopped by one, stopped for just one or zero yards on that play is such a great job. So, I think that not only did Bree have a good job, but the way he’s been coached and the way he’s allowed himself to be coached, you’re seeing it. It’s a true running back who can be a home run hitter, but you can’t look for the home run on every play. Um, that’s all good stuff with Glenn, the fundamental coaching, but there’s some bad stuff, too. We’ll get into. Yep. No doubt. I mean, again, just to follow up on Bree. I mean, you look at the year he’s having, you see the stats there on the screen. 168 carries, 766 yards, 4.6 yards per carry, 28 receptions for 301 yards, four total touchdowns. Should have had five. Unfortunately, the fumble happened. It is what it is. But you look at the year he’s had, Robbie, this is doing it in an offense where everyone knows what the Jets are trying to do, right? They’re trying to run the ball with Bree Hall. They’re loading the boxes. No running back, I believe, in the NFL has faced more uh eight or eight plus boxes than Bree and he’s producing. Look, this is a guy that’s still young. I understand that it’s a running back. Ah, how valuable are they? I think given where the Jets are, given their salary cap they do have, and given the fact that there’s going to be a rookie quarterback in all likelihood, starting the vast majority of games next year, keeping Breeze to me is a major major priority for this team. Yeah, listen, it’s running back’s devalued. We know that. We We know that’s the way of the world, but um I would absolutely look to keep him as well. He’s still young enough, you know, what what is he 26 now or 25 still? I forget. But I don’t even know if he’s 25 yet to be honest with you. He’s still 24. Reese Hall is 24 years old. He’ll turn 25 on May 31st next year. Yeah, I I mean I’m with you. I’d look to keep him as well. Uh we don’t know what he wants to do. That’s going to be a major factor in this. Uh what will he garner on the open market is huge as well. I love Isaiah Davis. I still like Brilland Allen. Even though he’s coming back from injury, you just can’t trust him. That’s the problem. So I’ll never trust a guy who missed that that chunk of time. Uh yeah, I’m with you. I’d keep Reese. I will try to hit the like button if you’re just tuning in. Comments, questions, super chats. We’ll cut the live. Reminder, if you ever miss the YouTube show live, check it out on either Apple or Spotify and you can listen back to anything you might have missed. We are doing the raffle at the end of the show today. Nick Mangled signed football. Arma membu signed jersey. Wayne Crebette signed football. I see Yo Holmes needs his mommy to wipe his bottom already today. Look at that. Uh, which quarterback do I prefer? You know what’s funny? I without digging into it too much, and I still haven’t dug into it a lot. It was Mendoza by default, but right now I’m leaning Simpson. He and I know Simpson had a poor game recently, so some people soued on that. Some people say Howard, but I’m still leaning Simpson. He based on and it’s very early. It’s very early, but based on the pressure he he seems and Mendoza handles pressure solidly, but Simpson just seems completely unfazed, which is very when going through his progressions, not at all times, but when going through his progressions and trying to stay locked into the pocket, he seems to be a lot more unfazed, which is uh why I’m Simpson right now. But it’s still early. Still very early. Still very early indeed. All right, let’s get to what the thumbnail and the title is about. I found these comments from the head coach yesterday, Robbie, to be very interesting. This was Aaron Glenn being asked about Woody Johnson, who Glenn has said that he speaks to often. So, this was a question about what Woody’s thinking about this 219 season. Here’s AG yesterday. Related to to Woody, I know you speak to him. You you told us you speak to him pretty regularly. Y you know, obviously, you know, you’ve been going through these games and not winning games. You’re seeing progress. You’re talking about the you know, what you’re trying to build here. Can you describe, you know, because he wants to win now, obviously everybody does. Um, how can you describe how he is with that in terms of his understanding of where you want to try to bring this thing and is he’s seeing in your eyes the progress that you’re seeing? You know what that’s um every player, every coach, um, ownership, uh, personnel, everybody’s, you know, they want to win now. Um, but there’s also an understanding of that you have to build things a certain way to to consistently win and he understands that, you know, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he wants to win now, just like the same with me. Same with anybody else on this team. Um, so those conversations are always good conversations between me and him. They’re always honest conversations. Um, I’m not going to BS him and he’s not going to BS me. Um, listen, there are some things that that, you know, I tell him that that, you know, he wants to see us get better at, you know, but there are some some things that I explain to him on here’s the reasons why and here’s where we’re going. And he does see those things, you know, but that doesn’t, you know, take the fact away from him wanting to win now and me myself want to win now. So, but those conversations are always good, you know, and um and I do I do enjoy those conversations with him. Um, and that’s one thing I do respect about him as as a man. He’s um he’s going to tell me exactly what he thinks, you know, but he knows in turn I’m going to tell him exactly what I think also. So, here’s the thing. I don’t think that Aaron Glenn is is off base with that. But I think a key thing that’s being left out in the Woody being on board with this plan is that Glenn and I believe Muji articulated to Woody Johnson when they made those deals on the day of the trade deadline involving Saw and Quinn that we’re taking a shortterm loss for a long-term gain. We are going to get you the franchise quarterback that you’ve been coveting since you own the team. I truly believe everything the Jets do going into the off seasonason is centered around the quarterback spot. It’s why I don’t believe there’s any scenario where the Jets are punting on getting their guy this off season and saying we’ll wait till 2027. I truly believe that Woody is united with Glenn and Muji because they sold him on the plan. Hey, we’re going to quote unquote lay this foundation this year and it’s going to be all about now getting the quarterback in year two being an improved team and then year three when it all comes together. I think he sold Woody on this quasi three-year rebuild after I believe the initial plan was they were going to be a solid team this year and fight for a playoff spot. That clearly was not going to happen when they started one and seven. So, they made the trades. They got Woody on board with the new plan and now it’s all about the quarterback this off seasonason. That’s how I interpret those comments there from Aaron Glenn. Spot on. They turned it they didn’t inherit a total rebuild. They turned it into that. Correct. And you know, if anyone asked you what the Jet situation was last spring, you know, until this day right now, that’s it. Simply put, they turned it into that. Now, you know, I’m not evaluating it in terms of that was the wrong or right thing to do. That’s just what it is. That’s reality. They they declined intentionally in terms of talent at a lot of positions last spring than the trade deadline happened this year. So, um and on top of that, you know, they’re the defense is totally different the way they played. So, they’re trying to find the right guys. There’s still a lot of guys that don’t fit. You know, I did a film on the play, a quick breakdown on the play with Germaine, the the Germaine Twitter stuff yesterday. And uh I think it was Ravens fans who were getting on him by getting getting panced by Ricard, the uh the fat ass fullback. And listen, could Germaine have done a better job? Sure. But that wasn’t the key. No one was replacing him. He was supposed to step hard inside. He’s supposed to crash at the goal line. No one replaced him. Quincy was just taken too too far downhill, too wide. The angle wasn’t squeezed at all. Uh so you had two outside guys in with Quincy and Malachi and that huge alley which I talked about the halftime adjustments. Uh Baltimore just started running straight up the AMB gap and and dominated. So guys still aren’t playing the way they want them to in terms of Glenn and Wilks’s eyes and Quincy is a good example of that. I see flashes at times when he when he plays physical and and puts himself in the right spot instead of going hair on fire, fills and spills, but it’s not consistent. So, yeah, it is what it is, dude. They turned it into this and um they better be right. And by the way, when I said Simpson before, I’m leaning Simpson over Mendoza, that doesn’t mean I feel good about either guy as a top five pick in the draft. That which scares me still. Look, it’s all a crapshooting a lot of times. So get a guy you believe in and surround him with as much talent as possible to make it, you know, foolproof for him to have the highest floor possible. But I I’m with you, Robbie. They entered the year thinking they had a good team that needed to be coached properly. Those are the head coach’s words. He denied a rebuild the whole way. You know, when Salah came in, he made it clear what the expectations were that it was a developmental year. You know, the Jets, they came in and said, “We got talent here.” They retained a lot of the same players that were here under Douglas and Salah. That’s how I know they misvaluated the roster. I think Glenn’s growing pains of a head coach were far more extreme than any of us have realized. I think the real question is Glenn claims they’re laying the foundation. They’re two and nine. Are they laying the foundation though? Are you seeing a foundation being set here? In some areas, I could argue sure. In others, I can’t. The defense is way worse. And if Steve Wils is back, there’s no foundation being laid there. I don’t care how much cap space and draft capital you have. I think there’s real issues there when we talk about a team that has one total turnover through 11 games at zero interceptions which breaks an NFL record. So, there’s some foundational pieces here. I think the O line is a major strength. The running game, tight end, potentially Garrett and some of these other receivers may be emerging. There’s some things I could point to. The Muji trades have paid off if you want to highlight those guys. So, there’s some things to like, but laying the foundation, I just feel like that’s what you say if you’re a head coach and you’re two and nine now trying to point to the positives to make it look better overall. It’s a default answer and whether it’s true or not, you know, remains to be seen. The thing I would ask, Glenn, is what do you mean by that? You know, expand upon that. What do you mean by laying the foundation? Is it all about individual coaching in terms of what you want each guy to do, each position to do, how it fits within your vision or is about more? Because, you know, I talked about the positives from this game, the individual coaching, and listen, it’s real. It’s it’s legit. I see a lot of good stuff, but then when you get to the bad stuff, it’s unforgivable and it can’t win in today’s league. the the lack of feel for the game in terms of game management decisions. That first punt I thought was a good one instead of going for it because the game flow was conservative. It used McNamera to pin him deep, take the delay a game. I liked it, but that the fourth and the third and two into the fourth and two was it or was it third and something else? I forget, but it was fourth and two. It the feel was absolutely do not go for it there. the feel for the game and certain game management decisions and even game planning to some degree. Making sure that the offense is the star of the show is the really troubling stuff that we’ve seen all year and I haven’t seen it improve and that’s the that’s the big thing for me. I think that’s totally fair. I thought Samini’s tweet yesterday kind of encapsulated the state of the Jets and those comments that we just played uh from Glenn. So Rich tweeted yesterday, “Glenn’s team’s two and nine, but he’s trying to spin the positive, selling the idea that a foundation is being built. The one thing he he lamented is how the team needs to improve its mental toughness, the ability to overcome in-game adversity.” He doesn’t use the Rword, rebuilding, but that’s what is happening now. Of course, that wasn’t the vibe in September, or I would throw in the entire offseason, but things shifted along the way, and here they are 2 and N playing out the string while evaluating players for 2026. I think that’s kind of what happened here. I think they came in with an initial plan. They changed the plan, got an unbelievable opportunity to reset the deck with the trades they made at the deadline. And now it’s all about who’s here for 26. And most importantly, the plan to get a quarterback for 2026 and beyond. That is what everything will be centered around this offseason. Yeah, it’s again, it’s at an organizational level and Glenn fits right into this. Um, you know, Woody, it’s not about you feeling good and you feeling like you would play for a certain guy when he’s talking to you. As he said in terms of when Glenn speaks to him, that motivation is not what it what it’s about. It’s about high. Look at Ben Johnson, man. Look at what he’s doing with the Bears. Only one game he failed. It was earlier in the season. He messed up with the kickoff. Um, didn’t get it out of bounds. They returned it and and screwed the pooch on that one. But every other decision is just spoton and it’s so important during the game and it’s innate and the communication you have to have as a head coach to the quarterback to the defensive captain who’s got the dot is so critical and that’s that’s the stuff that I just don’t know if this coaching staff could overcome. Uh the the best path forward where it works out perfectly is if Angstrand truly is a rockstar. That is the hope and I think for Jets fans who were worried about Glenn, I think that’s the biggest thing. What have you seen from Angstrand overall? Cuz I did not think Sunday was one of his best games. He’s been Well, first of all, it’s tough to evaluate based on the quarterback that he’s had. That’s number one. Um, number two, Tyrod was very conservative in this game. They they I don’t know why, but it felt like when you compare this game to Tampa, very very conservative and I I know why on the surface because Tampa Bowls, they’ll play off coverage. He blitzes, but he plays a lot of off coverage. Baltimore was in your face more often and the recent tape with Fields has other defenses playing single high press. So Baltimore kind of came out that way and Tyrod just wasn’t taking chances. Yeah, I wasn’t I wasn’t impressed with Angstrand this game either. Overly impressed, but I it wasn’t anything where I was like, “Ah, it’s just terrible.” I mean, if Breeze doesn’t fumble, they probably score there. They get more points under the condition of a very slowfooted game, pace, conservative feel that it started with and it had up until halftime. I thought it was solid. I thought it was okay for Angstream. Super chat from Tyrone Garcia who’s in the Asmaniac raffle at the end of the show for three signed items for five. Plus, for those tuning in late, the top prize in raffle 51 is a signed Derell Rivas jersey. So, you can enter for both weekly raffles on this one show here. A little two for one special, little listener appreciation to all the great people who tune in and make this channel successful. Tyrone says, “I feel that Joe B was right. Even though we’re losing, we are traumatized from all the bad years since 2010. Maybe we need to just let this play out. That’s my feeling. Hopefully Glenn gets it done. Go Jets. I mean, if you want to be optimistic, they have all the resources they need to hit on the quarterback. You hit on the quarterback, it changes everything for your franchise. Uh if you want to be pessimistic, I don’t think the head coach has distinguished himself this year. And I understand it has not always been ideal and there have been some improvements, but we’re still talking about a two and nine football team and I don’t think the talent even with the trades is two and nine bad. So there’s positives, there’s negatives. I think the biggest thing is we know Glenn is not going anywhere. So you have to hope that he shows real improvement year-over-year from a rookie to a sophomore head coach going forward. Yeah. And he it’s everyone’s traumatized 100%. Um, the worry with Glenn, the major worry is what I just talked about those in-game decisions and and jing with modern football, not putting all your chips in the bank as the motivational guy. Motivational guy is fine. It just can’t it just can’t lead the way. It’s got to be strategy. Um, and the fact that he it wasn’t a rebuild in the spring. I I don’t care what Jets fans think it was a conspiracy where he was lying to everyone. It wasn’t a rebuild and he pointed at Fields and said, “This is going to be my guy.” That’s troubling. It’s very troubling. Um, but being traumatized, I would just say point to specific things like the second Derrick Henry touchdown, they’re at the two yard line. Okay, Ricard checks into the game. First of all, third and two at the two-y line. It’s it’s 12 personnel, just two receivers, two tight ends with Kolar and they’re a nickel. Okay, the Baltimore passes. They break it up intended for Andrews. They get it done. Tip of the cap. Colar comes out for Ricard. Big ass Ricard. The fullback. They go under center. There’s still a nickel. This is the Germaine Johnson play. How are you playing nickel at the 2 yard line against the Ravens with Derrick Henry and Patrick are card checking in. It just defies logic. You got to go base there at the very least. So, I would say get try to get over the traumatization by pointing to specific examples that don’t make sense. And that’s definitely one of them. Is that on Wilks or the head coach? Both. Well, it stops with Aaron Glenn, but it’s on both. Like, how do you more recently over the last month or so, they were they’ve been playing nickel against non1 personnel, heavier personnel, uh like 12 and 21, but at the 2 yard line, that’s goal line situation. And Ricard, once Ricard checks in, you have to go base. He’s a fullback. He’s in there to block. So, that’s on both. That’s on Wils and Glenn 100%. Comments, questions, super chats, they cut the line. Again, Steve Wils seems like a nice guy. I don’t enjoy calling for people’s jobs, but I don’t see how you could bring this guy back with the defense being this inept at forcing turnovers. Like, it there’s they’re still having communication issues. You just talked about the wrong uh alignment of personnel on the field. Five DBs. Five DBs on at the two yard line with Derrick Henry and Ricard. I I just you can’t you can’t justify this coordinator being brought back. They they the Jets defense I understand there’s some real talent issues in certain areas. They shouldn’t be this bad. It’s fair. They’ve been better in some games here, but they they like again when was the last time the Jet defense made a game-changing play? Seriously, like special teams won them the Browns game. The offense scored a boatload of points against the Bengals. They want to shoot out. When was the game this year where the defense said enough is enough. We’re going to take over the game and make plays. They just don’t do it. And that’s that’s part of the issue theoretically. It’s it’s as if and it’s not just Glenn, it’s the Jets in general, the the entire coaching staff back until what under Woody basically other than Gase, but you know, Gase is a special uh exception. The coaching staff believes the defense should and will do that and take over the game. But you that’s foolhardy. It’s in the last 12- 15 years. That’s foolhardy to believe. Defense. Should they do more than they’ve been doing? Of course. You got to create turnovers. Uh but that you can’t ever lean on that. And I feel like the Jets head coaches do that way too often. Leaning on trying to lean on the defense in a non-defensive football world. Comments, questions, super chats. Cut the line. Dylan Tamman in the house. They mix nickel verse 12p and base verse 12p. But that was the one instance they went nickel versus 21P. Very not great. Uh 12P being 12 personnel. Yeah. Yeah. It’s you could classify Ricard as whatever you want. 2112. He was lined up as a wing I think inside uh was he off or on the line? I forget. Was he was inside Andrews and the form the the reason they do that is because Ricard’s blocking down and Germaine and Clemens was at DTackle by the way. Clemens at DTackle on the goal line. How? He’s normally an edge. You put him at DTackle in sub rushing situations, sub package situations. How is he at DTackle? So, it’s just I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s just detail oriented or too stubborn for their own good. It’s one or the other. Comments question. Super chat. Skeleton says, “Had to give a super chat for the rain sound effect.” Hey, now raining memberships earlier. Get in the raffle skeleton. get on in. Appreciate everyone tuned in to the show. Uh our guy Mongolia Jets fan says that he’s coming in from Mongolia to Metife for the Patriots game on the 28th. Who’s around to meet up? If you need some tailgate spots, I could definitely recommend a few for you. L5, Gotham City Crew, Tailgate Joe. I’m sure there’ll be some asmaniacs that will be at that game. Uh man, coming from Mongolia, how long is that flight from Mongolia to Newark or JFK, wherever you fly into? Yeah, that’s uh not something I want to do. You ever been to Mongolia? I think uh did Street Fighter take me to Mongolia? Did Street Fighter have a I don’t think it was Mongolia. I take it back. Uh Yo Holmes says, “I hope we understand. Wins and losses don’t matter. Either way, Jets are training up to get their guy. Well, I I I think Gator kind of summed up how a lot of Jet fans would prefer it to go. He goes, “The Baltimore game is exactly what we need to see the final six games. Only two things matter. Looking for coaching, youth, penalties, and number two, lose. Ain’t no benefits in winning.” I understand that. I think people need to realize the odds of the Jets finishing two and 15 are very, very low. I think they finish four and 13. Ain’t no benefits to winning. Let’s think about that. Honestly, it’s the it’s the debate we have every year because the Jets stink. It’s the tanking for a better draft pick versus and they and they never win. And yet here we are. Um, you know, I’m sure you could point to examples where teams didn’t win and turned it around. Sure. Uh, but if Glenn is going to say build a foundation, you know, the underlying goal and target is to win games by building a foundation, period. For everyone who wants to say tank and winning doesn’t matter and I love Aaron Glenn and I believe in him, bring up the Detroit example. You know, Campbell, what they did in that second year, starting off slow, turning it around, they won and then started to gain momentum. So that doesn’t matter all of a sudden. You be consistent. Use the Detroit example and admit that winning in that season that looked lost helped them. That’s all. Just be consistent. I I think you got to understand that a big reason why the Jets made those deals was to have the extra pick so they are able to move up if need be to get their quarterback. That’s why they did it. So I I fully expect them to win a game or two the rest of the way. They’re just playing a lot of games that are very winnable and say whatever you want about this team this year. They’re two and nine. They have played better the last five weeks in totality. They just have. You look at the line courtesy of FanDuel for Sunday. They’re two and a half point underdog. This is not a crazy game for the Jets to potentially win against Kurt Cousins in the cold weather Sunday at Metife. Like this to me is a very winnable game. Miami is a very winnable game. New Orleans in New Orleans late in the season a few weeks from now is a very winnable game. I don’t think they’ll win all the quoteunquote winnable games, but I also don’t think they’re going to lose their last six. And I had a fear that the Bills game would mean nothing for Buffalo because they’d have everything locked up. I don’t think that’s the case now. I think they will need that game to even make the playoffs. Maybe the Jets could eliminate them in this crazy world uh with a win in the last ever game at Highark Stadium in week 18. So you see the schedule there. There’s winnable games. I don’t think they’re going to finish two and 15. They could lose all them, but that’d be unlikely as well. Listen, if winning doesn’t matter, you know, why did Quinnon Williams want out? It they it’s such a stupid statement. Now I’m on board that win the win loss record isn’t the most important thing. The most important thing is seeing if this coaching staff has the goods or not. That’s the most important thing. Um, but to say winning doesn’t matter is just so so patently ridiculous. I mean, it it kill it just drags down everyone. Their emotions, their feel, not just the players, everyone within that organization, every fan. We just talked about being traumatized. Come on. Winning of course matters in any season. It doesn’t matter what the situation is to me like winning matters. Yes. But at the same time, if you told me that the Jets could play the exact game they played against the Ravens but lose, I also wouldn’t mind that cuz I’m at a point now where I try to believe these games, you know, mean something. At the end of the day, the Jets could get a better pick and not have to trade up any assets to get their quarterback. That’s better for the long-term future of the team. At this point, pushing back at on the winning is meaningless. It matters. I just think also losing at this point is not necessarily detrimental when you know the coach is coming back regardless of what happens. Yeah, I mean it it depend it it all depends how it plays out for sure. Um but I just push back against the it’s it’s 100% best to lose and winning means nothing in terms of the future. That that’s just I can’t I can’t take that. It’s ridiculous. I think it’s how they win too, right? I think if they win an ugly 13-10 game against Miami in a couple weeks, like what does that do for me? Nothing. If they look good and they’re winning games because Mason Taylor dominating or Mitchell and Meti are making plays, the running game is awesome with the O line, like there’s different ways to win. You know, I think I think there’s nuance in uh the conversation around winning. Like, if you’re winning games because your young players are leading you, great. If you’re winning a game because Frank Gore is getting a critical fourth and one conversion in 2020, that does nothing for you. You know, like there’s different uh there’s different things that happen over the course of a win that actually matter when you get to this late in the year and you’re out of it. The 13-10 win would have to show great defensive play and and game planning and not just poor offensive play that hands you the game. Agreed. Like the Browns win did nothing for me in hindsight. Like it was an outlier unbelievable historic special teams game where you scored twice on a kick and punt return and Justin Fields without a screen debrie had 12 passing yards. I don’t I don’t I don’t totally disagree. I don’t And especially because it was the special it was an outlier. It was the special teams doing special things and that that’s not that’s only going to get you so far. It you can’t view it as oh that’s 33% of the team. It’s not. It’s not anymore. It’s way lower. Uh so agreed. It’s actually it’s even worse because it might encourage the coaching staff to have the wrong mindset going forward. Gator McCcluskey says, “We give up assets every game in these last 61 potentially.” And there is a scenario one of the quarterbacks just falls. Like we all just assume the Jets have to trade up. And if I had to guess right now, sure that’s probably a uh a likelihood, but you just never know. The draft is so unpredictable. Yeah. I my hope right now is that a third quarterback sort of comes out of nowhere to to at least rival the top two. uh be because I just I’m not in love with the top two being in in the position they are right now. Now, I’m not I’m not saying it can’t work out, but that’s just where it’s very early, but that’s where I am right now. Jason says, “Jake, stop worrying about draft position.” Also, Jake Braden Man cost us Trevor Lawrence. Well, what what I mean when I say stop worrying about draft positioning is like when people are like freaking out about like the order right now, like come to grips with the fact they’re going to win probably another game or two. Like, it won’t hurt as much if you look at the Jets schedule. Look at the fact they won two games with Fields as their quarterback in the first half of the year. Tyrod’s an upgrade there. They are playing better all around Tyrod. They have more talent at the receiver room now than they did in the first half of the year. Like if you accept they’re probably going to win four games, it won’t hurt as much when they win a couple of these games coming up. That’s my point. And as far as Braden man cost them Trevor Lawrence, my also point is like you never know how things are going to play out. It’s much more about picking the right player and surrounding the right player with what they need to be successful. They picked the right player and Sam, they failed him. So, like that that’s my point. Like I’m not going to worry about it on November 25th, but I’m also going to acknowledge that if they lose but lose competitively, I can’t be that upset. Like I’m not that upset that they lost to the Ravens. I’m really not. It was Armageddon when the Jets beat the Rams. Like, God would in alternate universe. If the Jets got Lawrence, where would we be today? Let’s think about it now. Think about that and put the percentage chance on. What help? What is best for the future in terms of winning knowing that the coaching staff has the goods or picking number one in the draft? I’d say it’s 99% to 1% honestly and especially this year where there’s no shorefire guy. Um, but as we’ve seen in the past and experienced shorefire guys are tough to come by. You could hype them up all you want. Ladies and gentlemen, hit the like button. Comments, questions, super chats, cut the line. Sam Faulk spending a $1.99, but I don’t see a comment. I just see a wonderful super chat from the Faulk man. What’s up, Sam? Hey, what’s up? All right, Jason in Jerusalem just gave us a comment we responded to. I’m told that he is currently on an international flight. Let’s see how the connection is. Somewhere, I believe, above the Atlantic Ocean. Jason, are you there? Hey, can you hear me? Yes, we actually can. Is that first class? What’s going on there? No. Okay. No. Heck no, man. This is a cattle class here. Okay. Where are you flying to? Gator. Of course, they would have been better with T- law than Zach Wilson. No one’s saying otherwise. But I mean, do you think Taw would be on his way to having his uh number in the Ring of Honor right now? That’s my point. It doesn’t it doesn’t matter who you draft if the guy if you don’t have the right guy leading the charge. By the way, Jason called back in here. We can get an idea via his flight map. Where is he sitting in the plane is what I want. I can’t I couldn’t tell. You know, surprisingly Jason had better connection than some callers that regularly call into the show. Go figure. Well, we just tried a call during an international flight. Why don’t we try a call from a man in Mongolia? Big Apple UB has called in. What’s up, Big Apple? Hey, what’s up, guys? How’s it going? How’s the connection? You You sound great, man. Uh how long is that flight, by the way? Mongolia to uh New York when you make it. Yeah, there’s no direct flight from uh the capital here, Ulamata. So, first I got to fly four hours to Seoul and then from Seoul I fly 15 hours to JFK. So, it’s basic. It’s 19 hours in a plane. Wow. Good luck, man. I I hope when you’re here, you see an entertaining game at the least. Well, you know, I think I you know, maybe you don’t remember. The last time I was there, it was the Thursday Night Football Jack uh Zach Wilson game against the Jaguars. Yeah, that was rough. That was the last game I was at, but that was only me. This will be my first game with my son. The crowd was actually alive for that one. What? Zach Wilson Jags, right? Is what you’re saying? Yeah. No, no, it was 2022. It was just a few years ago. It was Thursday. Oh, that’s the wrong one. I’m think frozen. It was frozen rain. It was The only thing worse than the weather was the Jets. I’m think Mario’s game. Yeah, you were thinking of the Zack’s rookie year. I was actually at that. I was at both those games. And uh Thursday night one was the last we thought we would have saw Zach Wilson. That was the famous game that inspired Jake’s famous he stinks speech after that. So anyway, um yeah. So, uh, obviously I’m looking to meet up with some Asmaniacs and, you know, some Badlands guys, you know, whatever who’s around. I would love to see you guys. Uh, and I I I’m wondering uh where where how do how do people like meet up with players and get autographs and stuff because I’d love to bring my son to to do that. Is there I would get there early. Yeah, get there early um when they’re warming up on the field pregame and usually they’ll sign before they go back into the locker room when they’re not wearing their uniforms yet when they come out like about two hours before the game and start getting loose. Okay. So, get there a couple hours early. Yep. That’s what I would recommend if you’re trying to get autographs. They they’ll usually sign when they come out and then when they run back in. Okay. Nice. Uh I’m I’m wondering how you guys feel about Will McDonald. I’m I’m I’m I’m worried about him. He he he’s he disappears, right? I mean, he’s so good sometimes, but then he’s he’s just gone. I mean, I understand the game script and that happens a lot because the Jets stink and they never put him in a chance to but but it, you know, it I it just feels like he’s Can you trust him? What do you guys think? No, I’ve been disappointed and I think he was better with Salah’s coaching staff for sure. Glenn hyped him up. It’s coaching man and he’s had one great game this year. I mean, Will McDonald after he had the four sacks. I just looked it up. He has one quarterback hit the last two games combined. He’s too quiet. And I get it. The game script is not always favorable for him, but come on, man. Like, this is a guy that’s a top 15 pick in the draft. You got You’re in your third year. I need more from him. I think edge is a big need for this team. Forget just the depth Clemens and all that. They need to get a legit edge rusher on this team in addition to Germaine Johnson and Will McDonald. Yeah, McDonald’s was a specialty pick when when they had him when they picked him, they had their edge set, they had their base set, he was above and beyond pick to come in and pass rush on passing downs on third and passing. When you look at the Jets defense right now, especially with what Glenn wants, they got guys who compromise the integrity of the D. And McDonald’s is one of them in base. He he just can’t. It’s tough for him to hold up in terms of doing certain things in terms of spacing and balance up front. Uh Quincy can hold up. He’s just trying to get him to calm down and and take a deep breath is the problem with Quincy. Uh so Quincy and McDonald’s, it it’s um those two really they’re trying to get them to fit in. So Robbie, would you rather uh Quincy or Sherwood next year? Uh I mean from the jump Jake remembers this. I didn’t think they would resign Sherwood because they’re too similar, those two guys. They they they’re too east west. They elude blocks too much. Um the reason Sherwood struggled this year, especially early, is because they’re trying to get him to play differently. They’re trying to get him to be more physical. And that’s why you’re seeing a lot of Kiko because Kiko takes on the blocks. He fills holes. I think the Jets I think the Jets need a a a true middle linebacker, not a safety. a big regular middle linebacker. I I mean, I don’t know a lot, but you’re never gonna get a big guy. You’re never gonna get a big guy these days, but I hear what you’re saying, a physical guy who will will take himself out for the betterment of the team as opposed to trying to make the tackle. Yeah. And and then, you know, I’ve been I’ve been a Jets fan since uh Kenny O’Brien. I’m I’m from the Bronx. I I haven’t lived in Mongolia my whole life. I’m I’m a New Yorker. And I I gotta say, you know, maybe a lot of people they’re gonna say, “Oh, yeah, we heard this before.” I’m I’m I gotta say I’m more excited for this current team and regime than I have been for a long time. I think they’re doing it right. I know there’s a lot of red flags. There’s a lot of, you know, growing pains and mistakes with Aaron Glenn, you know, making bad decisions and all that, but, you know, the the the trades, the fire sale, all the picks they got, all the cap space, I think it’s going to be fantastic and I’m all for it. I, you know, I’m I’m very excited for it. And I just want to say I hope I meet up with some Asmaniacs and some Badlands guys and some Jets X Factor guys. Love to meet you guys when I get over there. And thanks for taking my call, Jake. Big Apple, great call, man. Safe travels when you’re here. Just amazing. The jet fans are everywhere in Mongolia, dude. By the way, Mongolia, not a Street Fighter 2 location. Thailand. I don’t know what I was thinking of. Uh, who is your favorite Street Fighter character? That’s a good question. Um, man, uh, the guy Blanco was pretty good from Brazil. He was a cheat code for sure. who like the folks who like saying cheat code. Um, who else? There was another guy, Chun Lee. The kicks were ridiculous. Um, I think those two, those two were the most popular at the arcade. Comments, questions, super chats. Boss girl enters the raffle for two with this big deal. Dante Moore declares three quarterbacks to choose from. If Oregon wins out, better chance. I Yes, I do think if Oregon goes on a deep run, maybe they win it all. he’s more likely to leave. I also think there’s still a great chance he does come out. I mean, guys might learn from the Derall thing of, “Oh, I’m a first round pick. Let me go out now and not risk injury and hurting my draft stock.” You just never know. So, I’m 100% still holding out hope that Moore does to Claire because I might like him the best to be honest the more I watch him. Um, let’s see. Boss Girl says, “My kids would love to win. Seven-year-old loves the show, too.” Great job, Boss Girl. Shout out to you and your sevenyear-old. Hit the Jet Champ form, people. Kids don’t understand like tanking and rebuilding. They like they want to see wins. So, it’s like a very hard conversation to have with like a young Jets fan being like, “No, the Jets lost, but this is actually good because now we’re picking.” They don’t understand. You know, if you put your Dr. Phil cap on, sometimes they don’t understand, but sometimes they give you, you know, a glimpse into innocence and like the correct avenue, you know, because they’re not corrupted. So while they don’t understand on one hand, I think you could learn a lot in terms of what you hear from the youngsters. The Zaha, there is no plan for the players they draft, most of the drafted players are dumb and should not be on any NFL roster. At what point do we accept the fact there is no foundation? I don’t think that’s true. Arma, there’s clearly a plan. Start at right tackle and play like a Pro Bowler. Like that’s what he’s done. I think Mason Taylor when given opportunities has improved and looks like a starting tight end in this league. I think Ay Thomas played pretty well so far starting like I don’t know if that’s fair. I I think we overrate Malachi Moore a little bit. I think they got to still get two new safeties uh this off season but no I don’t think that’s fair at all. I think I think the draft has actually been a strength for Glenn and Muji. Agreed. And it’s another thing I mean you just hit on hit on him. Mason Taylor Meu the coaching on on the old line. I just can’t I can’t tell you the last time it’s looked this good. It the Rex years with Callahan. Seriously, it’s it’s been that good. And you know, people roll their eyes at that because they only have two wins, but you know, you got to evaluate it based on position. And one of my big concerns was without the threat of Fields’s legs, they would take a step back against Baltimore. They weren’t overly dominant, but they did a pretty damn good job overall. So, and the pockets, the pass pro with with Tyrod I just Tyrod did not he wasn’t great. He wasn’t taking chances. I still got to look at more of the offense from this game, but um yeah, there’s examples and AZ has been impressive. Malachi, we’ll see. Malachi is still kind of finding himself at the at this level. He’s floating in space a little. He’s letting his eyes take him to certain places he shouldn’t when he should remain more disciplined on his reads. Uh, I’d like to see him once he gets more discipline down. Anthony Loerorado checking in. He’s in the Asmaniac raffle at the end of the show for five. Oh yeah, Anthony. Shout out to you. You’re in our raffle at the end of the show, folks. Your chance to win. This is the final show. I’m spinning the wheel at the end here, counting up everyone’s entries. Wayne Crebette football, Arma member jersey, Nick Mangle football. All three items signed by those. That’s a distinguished fella right there on the screen. Mr. Mangled. Yes. RIP to the GOAT. Love that man. Um Barney writes in, “Question for Robbie. Why did the scouts get the QB class so wrong in 2021? And what makes us think 26 or 27 is going to be any better?” I It’s Did they get it wrong or is that just the way of the world? you since the Bradford draft, quarterbacks go up and up and up and up and up and you have to have quarterbacks in the top five, period. You could have no talent and they’ll be they’ll be there. It’s just the way it is. Uh, so I don’t know if they got it wrong as much as just that’s the way it’s set up. And you know, it takes a special kind of organization in front office to stick to your guns and say, “No, we’re not going to take this guy cuz we don’t believe in him.” Uh, and just because we’re in that spot and he’s there, we’re not going to take him. I think that’s that’s a very sneaky narrative that we’ve yet to confront. I think in terms of being Jets fans and those who follow the Jets uh year round, Bino Lander Barton from Utah, linebacker I’d love to get. Not going to pretend like I’ve watched any of them, but I will say linebacker I think is a big need and would not shock me if that Colts pick and or one of their second they have and we’ll see what the trade up potentially looks like and all that goes to a linebacker. I think it’s a big need for the defense. Yeah, I agree. They they need more physicality. They need a dare I say a leader. Uh, you know, I’m not trying to dump on Sherwood. I I love the kid, but there’s there’s stuff there. They I see a lot more disguising in terms of coverages from Wilks compared to how they started the year, but but I don’t see I don’t see a lot of movement in in the front seven, front six. Uh, but I will say this, they got the fourth down on the Andrews uh, tush push. The third down, Andrews came in motion and and it wasn’t as heavy. It was a lighter lighter personnel set, but Andrews came in motion and Phillips and whoever the other DTackle was, they adjusted nicely. They they really adjusted with very little time. Bumped down, uh, pinched and stopped it. So, that was an encouraging sign for me. Oregon Jets. Dante Moore or nothing. Gee, I wonder why a guy from Oregon who’s also a Jet fan would say that about Dante Moore. Love it. Oregon Jets, you’re the raffle for two. I like Moore a lot. Yeah, I got to watch him more. We’ll see. We’ll see if he comes out. Uh, let’s try Jason in Jerusalem again before we get to more of your calls. He’s convinced it will work this time as he flies internationally. Hello, Jason. Jason. Oh, yeah. You know what that is? That’s that Ricky New York wifi. That’s what it is, Jason. That Ricky NY specialty. This Ricky, that’s great. Ricky service isn’t good. Uh, it it certainly has improved over the years, but Ricky was notorious for having the worst Wi-Fi of any regular caller. Oh, he’s he’s down in the swamps, right? Somewhere down there. He’s in Tampa. Oh, I thought he was I thought he was more in the um what do they call it? The panhandle. Is that thought he was more over there. Okay. Ricky, no excuses. Come on. Get the service. Did you meet Ricky when you came to the event we did with the Tampa Jets Club? I don’t know if he was Was he there? He was there. Yeah. I don’t think I did. I missed Ricky. Damn it. Yeah, I missed Ricky. You didn’t see all the smoke just percolating off of him? Oh, he’s he’s do he does the snoop thing. Oh, yeah. There there was plenty of smoking and debating going on at uh that that that that party that night. Well, now I’m even more sad I missed Ricky. God, son of a [ __ ] More of your calls right now, but to set this one up first, let’s kind of set the scene for those of you who were not following earlier. Beast Breaker announced to everyone that he had Wendy’s, that he had sausage and biscuits. Don’t do that to the poor girl, Wendy. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to find out what specifically went down as the beast was having Wendy’s headache. You know what time it is? A beast break. I’m going to take my sh [Music] beast. I I had I just had Wendy. Imagine the comments. It’s a fair point. Why does my head go there? I don’t know. Ladies and gentlemen, Bucks Fanatic is in the Asdiac raffle for five. That’s right. We welcome fans of all teams, including Bucks Fanatic, who’s been with us for a long time since this video happened in Tampa. I’ll play it. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Love it. Shout out to you, Bucks fanatic. He also super chats us. He goes, “Hear me out, Jake. I’m in my annual mid-season Todd Bs hate. If you take Todd Poles back and a familysized bag of Cheetos, I’ll take Alan Lazard off your hands for you. I’ll tell you what, I’ve still maintained that I don’t think Todd BS is a great coach. He’s obviously not as bad as I once thought he was. He’s shown real improvement, but I’m just not convinced he’s ever going to win with the Bucks. Maybe you feel the same Bucks fan you’re watching every game, but I mean, the prime time record for Bulls with the Jets was abysmal. And I saw this stat I said on radio the other day when I was researching that game. Baker Mayfield and Todd BS you know what their record now is in prime time one and eight. So I just they just don’t win big games. Like you play in prime time in the playoffs like you got to get it done. Like I don’t know just the Bucks are good. I don’t think they’re great. I don’t know if they’ll ever be great with Bulls but maybe you know maybe I’m being too harsh. I don’t know. You’re watching every Bucks fanatic. You let me know. I actually agree with you Jake. And I I love Bulls. You know former I like him as a person. He’s a great dude. I love Bulls former safety. He kind of he stepped in it. great situation with Tampa and at the same time he’s also he’s in the category of the league moved away from him you know as opposed to Andy Reid where the league moved towards him. Uh he’s he’s one of those guys and he’s he’s adjusted a bit but you know he’s he’s reliant upon the offense in a lot of ways. They’ve had a ton of injuries too to be fair. Jay Jay’s right. I mean, no Mike Evans, Godwin, I mean, they, you know, Buga miss time, but he’s had great offensive coordinators, too. I mean, everyone just keeps plucking his offensive coordinators. You keep getting poached. That’s the brain drains real, right? Right. But, you know, that’s and that’s why I keep looking towards Angstrand with Glenn. I think it’s a major major deal. Uh, Mike Perez checking in. What’s up, Mike? You’re in the raffle for two. Good luck. Wendy’s and gas station pizza all before 11:00 a.m. The guy’s stool has to clog half of Illinois. Uh, he said stool. He He typed out stool in the chat. I got nothing else. Incredible. All right, more of your calls right now. We got a legend on the line before we say farewell to Mr. Saba. Ladies and gentlemen, get your guesses in. It’s time. Heat. Heat. inord [Music] was beast just uh screaming at people on the side of the highway there. Is that what was happening? Unclear specifically who he was yelling at. All right. If a professional is driving by, he might Beast might be in trouble. Yes. Um yeah, I mean that’s as good a guess as any. Um you know hopefully that Colts pick in the in the late 20s is going to continue to plummet. Um but you know that’s that could be a spot for Sunonny Styles, right? He could make it there. Where’s he projected to go right now? I’ve seen like so many it’s all over the place. Let me see where tankathons mock. That’s usually the first thing I check cuz I always have that website bookmarked for obvious reasons as a Jet fan. Uh, you should just make it the homepage. It pretty much is this time of year. I mean, that’s Yeah, that’s fair. He’s projected to go 30 in this mock here, but like it moves around so many times, so I don’t even know. I mean, that’s just typically where you start to see linebackers, safeties, interior linemen that are that are the premium guys start to come off, right? Yep. Yeah. So, I I think your point is well taken about, you know, Woody and uh you know, the trades and stuff, but I think there’s a human element with this and Woody, right? Like, he has an actual relationship with Glenn, and I don’t think we can discount that. Like, we live in an age where where we want to demonize billionaires for being evil or whatever. you know, this guy, if he has a relationship with him, he’s had some personal tragedy in his life. I I think that if he if he’s had a conversation with Aaron Glenn and he knows Aaron Glenn and he said, you know, this is a three-year rebuild now, I need to be able to make these deals because the the value that we’re getting back is kind of unprecedented that that he’s definitely going to get that third year. That’s my just my feeling on it. I think I’ve expressed it before, so I won’t I won’t belabor the point, but you know, that’s kind of what we want from Woody, right? Stay out of the way. Yes. And and your point is true. Like you said, it’s not a not non-factor. It It’s more than that. It’s massive. The the personal relationship with Glenn, it is. And it’s fine. It’s great. But the the message has to be to him. And I’m not even talking about Glenn staying or leaving. just from an overall perspective trying when you’re when trying to find the right people that that can’t be number one. Your your relationship and how do you take to a guy cannot be the deal. It has that is complimentary to when you’re looking for the right guy. But here here’s my kind of my point there is in the past he’s kind of been murial and he’s been the guy who would say in year two that’s enough, right? I think that I don’t know. They’ve had a they’ve had a lot of guys stay for a long time like uh BS four years. Gase was the only guy who didn’t last three years, right? Pretty wild. He’s got two and that wasn’t even Woody. Like that was all Chris Johnson at that time, too. Yeah. I don’t know. I My main fear is that Glenn is not the guy and and that’s going to be the problem. That’s the Yeah. Nothing matters if he’s not right. But at least they could get the quarterback in place and then the guy after Glenn could maybe benefit from that. And Angstrand Angstrand’s a huge part of this. Like we got to evaluate Angstrand just as much as Glenn. And it’s tough to separate the two because Angstrand works under Glenn’s vision which is a major major major deal that goes overlooked. Right. Well, unless the staff happens to to ruin the quarterback and then it’s back to square one as soon as it ever was. Um but yeah, I mean like even if you weren’t gonna there’s going to be tweaks to the the coaching staff. There always is when you you end up winning three, four or five games, right? Yeah. But um like the quarterback coach being an experienced and if we’re going to be bringing in uh a rookie that is going to have a lot on his shoulder shoulders and on his plate, that makes a lot of sense. And on the defensive side, obviously it hasn’t worked out to to where they’ve tried to blend this hybrid uh vision of uh you know um Glenn scheme um and the the introduce the blitzing. They don’t they don’t have the personnel to do this like like you know I know Glenn likes the bigger uh defensive ends. We don’t have those guys. I I could see Will McDonald going in the offseason to be frank with you to a to a team that, you know, is going to value those those NASCAR guys a little bit more. Uh like like Salah did. Uh you know, he was a uh Bryce Huff replacement, right, McDonald? That’s why that’s why he was drafted. Do you disagree with that? I kind of view McDonald as a a a riches like he just he was an add-on guy who was never meant to play bass, right? But I I mean they kind of had a sense that that Huff was going to be going out the door and that that that’s why they kind of um went and got him. I I mean 2020 hindsight, Smith and Jigba really worked out, but back back then we weren’t I don’t think we were looking too much at shifty slots, right? that that wasn’t really what the flavor of the of the month was. Uh no, remember the context of the McDonald pick, too. A big part of it was you added Aaron Rogers. You were going to play with a lot more leads. So, the thought was you’re going to close out games and be like the Eagles and just have Huff McDonald, JFM, who never should have been traded, Quinnon up the middle. You’re going to have Germaine Johnson. Like, the thought process was like, you’re just going to have too many awesome pass rushers. Wasn’t Was Lawson still on the team going into 23? I think he was, right? like they they that was the the thought that they were going to have all these different guys that could get after the quarterback and close out games that you’re leading in because you have Aaron Rogers at quarterback and I think that draft was a situation and fans don’t think about this a lot but it happens where things didn’t fall right and they were kind of panicky and they didn’t know what to do at that moment you know the whole Jones thing I don’t know what they were to take Jir Gibbs apparently Joe Douglas and yeah that came out yes which I would not have liked and I would have been dead wrong so I kind of wish that they did take Jir Gibbs if he was Right. So, it was one of those situations in which things didn’t play out perfectly and they kind of scrambled. That’s kind of my take on it. But that’s frustrating to me to say that that you know you have a plan. I mean, you should have a plan for the guy, but the plan shouldn’t see supersede the talent, right? Like if you have a top 15 pick, take the best player. like you there were enough needs on that team to just you know especially at receiver to say okay pluck the Ohio State guy and plug him in if if we have a strong feeling that he’s going to be. Now I would say this if if McDonald was on I don’t know the the Rams or you know the Colts he he he’d be up there in sacks right now with the leaders. He’s a specialty guy and if you put you keep you save his energy and put him in there third and long. Uh and Sachs is one of those it’s one of those categories where people look at it and say this guy’s tearing it up and he could play 10 plays a game and get the sacks and people are going to rave about him. But so he’s a specialty player basically, right? And and to me that smacks the desperation like trade back, get future picks, get multiple picks in that in that year. Like I I I understand you’re trying to win now, but like I you can’t assume that you’re going to be able to play with a re with a lead with a declining Aaron Rogers. That’s that’s I mean it can’t be, you know, taken as as as a fact that that’s going to happen. That that’s my only opinion on it. I appreciate your time, guys. Got it. Kyle, we appreciate you. Sabo, before you run, here’s a live look at Chun Lee. Sabo, it’s my girl. [Laughter] Uh, I [ __ ] hate that it doesn’t look ugly. Gator, you son of a [ __ ] Wasn’t Gator. Calm your freaky down. It was Addison, the host of the highly acclaimed Addie show. That can mean a lot of different things. The Atti show. I gota I gotta check in on that. It’s basically the Bobby Midnight Show without Bobby. It’s on his channel. Bobby lends the channel. He loans it to Addison. And Addison runs the daily 12-h hour Zoom meeting featuring Jake Assin show callers. So what they’re doing is combining Midnight with Addie. Yes. And and they go all night non-stop. Interesting. Yep. It’s always on. The show’s never on. Their marketing is way is like super intelligent AI stuff. It’s beyond my imagination. Good deal. Love it. You wouldn’t be you wouldn’t you wouldn’t be able to comprehend what’s happening. Yeah, that’s some good stuff, man. Uh, good job, Addie. Uh, all right. On that note, hold on. Gator weighs in. He goes, “If the Bobby Show was high as a kite and mildly entertaining, The Attie Show.” Wow. Gator going up and in on Bobby. How dare you, Gator? I’m a fan of the classics. And the Bobby Midnight Show is the show for you and me. Uh, the comments are just I I gotta go before my head gets messed up. All right, Chun Lee Sable, we will talk to you next week. Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Enjoy. What’s on the uh Sable plate, by the way? What’s your ideal Thanksgiving plate? Um, other than Wendy, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, all the all the uh traditional stuff. I’m I’m not one of the I’m not the guy who tries to reinvent the wheel. Like, I just go traditional. You’re a traditionalist, as they say. Traditional. Got to go ham, too. Ham’s got to be in the mix. Got to go ham and turkey. You’re a ham guy. Yeah. Interesting. I’m a ham guy. You’re a ham man. All right. Well, I hope you enjoy it and uh you and I will catch up soon. All right. Bye, ladies and gentlemen. Robbie Sabbo. Hit it. [Applause] Yeah. All right. Some super chats to get caught up on here. Welcome to something, says draft meetup in Pittsburgh to see our future QB get picked. It has been discussed. Fire Red was there. or doing an actual road trip to Pittsburgh and planning some meetups there. Both have been discussed. Both have been discussed. I’m just kind of waiting to see where the Jets end up picking before I commit to anything because we still got some time till April. Bucks fanatic checks back in. They always cut the line. Uh let’s talk about this game coming up for a moment here against the Atlanta Falcons. We told you earlier what the line is. It’s holding strong at two and a half. I want to see the injury report later this week from the Falcons standpoint to get a feel whether or not Drake London’s going to play. But it is going to be Kirk Cousins. And look, at at this stage, I don’t think Cousins is great. He’s still probably better than Tyrod Taylor if we’re being fair. And Atlanta has the better team than the Jets, and they’re playing for more than even the Jets are. Although Atlanta’s at 4-7, kind of out of it. But since their division is not any good, six and five Tampa, 6-6 Carolina, they’re still kind of alive at 4-7. The Jets were 4-7 in 09 and ended up making the playoffs as the last wild card team. Atlanta’s remaining schedule. They do have a game left with the Bucks. So, you know, if they win, they could get back into it. They do have a game left with the Saints, so there’s potentially an opportunity for them. But my early feel on this one is the Jets definitely could win. Like the the idea that the Atlanta Falcons are so tough, I’m not buying it. They did win in New Orleans this past week, 24-10. Cousins threw two touchdowns, was 16 of 23 for 199. two touchdowns, one pick. Bejian Robinson, Tyler Alier, kind of the catalyst for that offense you got to deal with. So, there’s kind of your early feel for the Falcons. I wouldn’t pick the Jets to win necessarily. I’ll wait, but wouldn’t shock me at all if they won this game. Um, let’s see. Dylan Tamman says, “2027 draft is in DC. Maybe a 2026 meetup and we wait. This helps DTS travel.” Dylan, we got to get you to the draft party this year, man. If we do another one in New York City, you’re coming to it. We got to figure that out. Boss girl says, “Don’t forget the Jeff revenge game.” That is true. That is definitely true. All right, let’s get the more of your calls, shall we? Bunch of you called in, so thanks for that. Keep the show rolling. We’ll go to Shane in Texas who’s got a beautiful aesthetically pleasing view today. What’s up, Shane? Hey, what’s going on, Jake? Just checking in and uh just giving a shout out to your last year’s uh draft party. I was there. I met you there for the first time and some other uh viewers, which was a really good time. So, uh hopefully I can make it back up to New York and do it again if you uh you happen to have it there. If not, come back down to Texas. Come down to Houston and uh let’s do it down here. But uh a long shot for you. I uh I I was really hoping that the Jets and Texans would play next year because the Jets do play a AFC South team on the road as part of the schedule, but it looks like it’s going to be Tennessee because I think the Jets will finish in last place and Tennessee will be last place in their respective divisions. And that that’s how it usually plays out that way. Uh, so I mean some years you play the entire division as part of the rotation, but other years you’re slotted to play the last place, you know, whoever you are, you know, matched up with in your division like the So the Jets finish in fourth, they’ll play the fourth place team in each of the other divisions that they weren’t already scheduled to play. That’s why they played Denver so many times because they keep finishing in the same slot as Denver. That’s why they played, you know, sometimes the same team again and again and again. The Browns, for example, right? because they’d finished in the same slot the previous year. That’s how the schedule gets put together. Okay, makes sense. Makes sense. Now, I didn’t get that part, but uh what are you expecting to What are you expecting to see this uh this upcoming Sunday against the uh the Falcons? I think the Jets could win. I think the Jets are going to have a great chance here. They’re only a two and a half point underdog. I think they’re going to be in a spot where they are, you know, in the game in the fourth quarter and it’s going to be close. Like, I really would not surprise me at all if they won. Yeah, I think they just keep feeding Breeze, man. That fumble last last week was tough to see. But he’s the answer. The answer for now. Get a little Meechi in there too here and there. Let these guys just play him out and see and see what could happen. Um I guess I get pumped still for him, man. I’m telling you, I still want to see a winning season. You know, hopefully next year, like I always call back and say, you know, they got to hit on this QB. they just got to hit on this QB and uh make things happen because uh you see it, you know, now now if uh Shador looks good, you know, they’re not going to be looking for somebody if he’s going to be a franchise quarterback. So that’s that’s one person in uh that’s looking for one as well, but we’ll see how that works out. We’ll we’ll see. I I don’t know. I think we’re overrating just how well he played. The Raiders are so bad, so let’s see it against the Niners now for a second week in a row. But to your point, the more teams that don’t necessarily need a quarterback, it does help the Jets. So if you’re a Jet fan, root for Shidor Sanders to play well. No, that exact any of these mediocre or you know quarterbacks that were questionable, I’m like, “Yeah, go for it. Be good. Be good. Be great.” You know, so we can get in there and do what we have to do. But um appreciate the phone call again, Jake. Um hopefully we can meet up again soon one day. um if around the world or United States I should say um in a game or something. Love it. Shane, where are you calling us from by the way? You got a lake in your backyard or you’re playing golf right now. [Laughter] Actually, at work at work actually has a view from uh from my building in the back. I was like, let me go take a walk and uh I was listening inside. I let me go outside and check in and get nice guys view of uh of Texas. I love it. Great call, Shane. I I miss miss Texas dearly. Zack Rosenberg says Jets have not had a turnover in the USA this year. He’s right. Think about that. The Jets don’t have a takeaway in the United States. Their one takeaway was the fumble recovery they had in the London game against Denver. It’s unbelievable. More calls right now, ladies and gentlemen. Peter Castro though suggested we should do a meet up in Africa. Let’s get Neil to charter us on one of his planes. Uh, all right. Home stretch of the show. Again, this take advantage of a two for one special. The top prize in Raffle 51 is a signed Derell Rivas jersey. So if you enter for the raffle at the end of the show today, which is the weekly raffle 50 Nick Mangled football or my memb jersey, Wayne Crebette signed football. Well, that means that you’re also going to be entered already in next week’s raffle. Little two for one special here. Little listener appreciation for anyone who’s locked into our show. Back to your calls. We have Curly Norman is next. What’s up, Curly? as my uh car carpool buddy Vman would say. What’s up? I’ll give you a little Vman, baby. Hold on, ladies and gentlemen. Stand by. Let’s give Curly a proper introduction. Let’s go back to the phones. We have Curly Norman. He’s next. Hey, Curly. Hey, what’s up? Uh, so we all want Glenn to improve. I know that. Like, I’m not rooting for him to be bad, but uh I’ve been asking it in a lot of shows like what what does Glenn do well? What have we seen that people could say that that’s it, you know, and I want I want them to be good. I I want the Jets to win. I’m just no one could tell me besides, oh, they play hard. That’s really it. I mean, I I I have not seen anything strategy-wise that has been great or clock management or anything that innovative. Yeah, I agree with you. I think I think he should get credit for special teams because he hired Chris Banjo and the Jets right now have the third best special teams in the league in EPA. Um, you know, I I I don’t think they’ve quit on him. I think they play hard for him, which I get it is the bare minimum, but we’ve seen other coaches, you know, completely lose the team, especially, you know, after the trades and after the by-week, they did get a win. It was ugly, but they did win. Um, but it’s all fair, man. I mean, I I I I don’t think he’s done a good job this year. I’m just hoping he gets better because I recognize he’s not going to get fired. Yeah. I mean, that that’s the thing. I can’t point to one game where you could say Glenn out coach the other guy, you know. I mean, and I hope he gets that game and I hope it’s I mean, at this point, actually, I hope they don’t. I hope he plays well and may lose. But um yeah, the other the other tragedy of it is I’m convinced that uh Beast Breaker is going to outlive me because of your passion for the Jets, Curly. Correct. I I can ride this bike every day. And I’m gonna I’m definitely not gonna outlive that guy. I don’t know. I mean, you seem like you’re a healthy man. Yeah, definitely not healthy when it comes to this football team. That’s No, I I get it, man. Believe me, the Jets have taken years off my life. At least I can make a career out of uh the pain, but you know, it’s not it’s not the most I’m I’m going to fly to New Orleans Christmas week to watch this. I can’t believe you’re still going to that game. God bless you. Hell yeah. I got tickets. Are you going to root for them to lose that game, though? Because that game is like everything for the tank potentially. Uh yeah, definitely. Um I mean I I got tickets in the fifth row for like like a hundred bucks. So it’s the closest I’ll ever sit uh for that cheap, that’s for sure. Yeah, I think uh I think I I think that’s at least going to be a great experience. That that building will be fun to be in. And all it’ll be nice weather, good food. Yeah, it’ll be the uh the toilet bowl for the pick and they’ll probably win. So I apologize. I’m at the game. I want them to lose, so they’ll probably win. When I want them to win, they lose. So, I think they could definitely win that game. I’ve accepted they’re going to probably win two more games. So, like, it’s not going to hurt me as much when it happens because like anyone who thinks the Jets are going to finish two and 15, like they’re not. They’re playing a lot better now. And the schedule’s soft. They won two games in the first half. What feels to win a game or two with Tyrod Taylor as well? Yeah, it’s it’s we know we know it. But, uh, have a happy Thanksgiving to everybody and, uh, be safe everybody, ladies and gentlemen. Curly Normanble. I wish Curly called in more. I like his calls. He’s not as negative of a caller when he verbalizes his takes as opposed to when he just writes them. Uh big super chat here from Taylor. What’s up, Taylor? You’re in the raffle for five. How high is wide receiver on your priority list this off seasonason versus some of our defensive halls? It it is very high on my list. Now, I don’t think it’s as high as it would have been if Mechi and Mitchell were not here because I do think they will have a role on this team. But I think if you’re do like, let’s be objective here. If you’re the Jets, ideally John Mchi is your third receiver next year or your fourth receiver. or Mitchell’s your three, you know, like if you want to be a really good team and set up your young quarterback, whether it’s Mendoza, Simpson Moore, JD Mava, whoever for success, ideally, like the guys we’ve are encouraged about, right, we’re excited about Mchi, I compared him to Jeremy Curley so far. Ideally, they’re like the three and four on your team. I still think they need to legitimately add another, you know, 1B potential receiver. Maybe that Colts pick is that defensive holes. Yes, they need to be filled. I think some of the Jets defensive holes could also be improved if Glenn mans up, recognizes the Wilks hire hasn’t worked out and hires a legitimate defensive coordinator, whoever that might be. You know, maybe the Browns blow it all up and it’s Jim Schwarz. I got to hire that guy in a second. It’s still a very high priority, you know, like to me receiver is a bigger need than safety or linebacker because it’s the NFL. It’s all about offense and I want to protect myself in case Garrett Wilson suffers another injury and we have no one to throw him. So, it’s still very high. It is to me the my list of priorities for the Jets by far one everyone knows it’s quarterback, quarterback, quarterback again, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback. After that, it’s bringing back Bruce Hall and loading up on receiver, tight end, weapons galore. And then obviously, I then ship the defense. I I I could live with the Jets defense not being good next year if they have a quarterback that we believe in that’s getting better and has a legitimate opportunity to win, you know, help this team win games. You know what I mean? Like, I could fix my defense. I the amount of cap space I have in free agency, I could help fix my defense. Look what New England just did. I could go out there the following off seasonason after I load up on offense and use some of my first round picks I have in 27 on defensive studs. Pass rusher DT line. I could get that in 27 with my three first rounders. I need the quarterback and I need to surround the quarterback with what he needs to have a chance. Not make the darnold mistake. I’ll figure out defense. To me, it’s all about the offense. All about the offense. Ladies and gentlemen, I see people are asking where Spencer Green is. I have not heard from Spencer. Haven’t heard from him. He owes me a hundred bucks. Mr. Spencer Greeny was always here fighting with everyone in the chat that dare said anything negative about a two and nine football team. We haven’t heard from Spencer. Carly says Spencer Green is very important. Lawyer. Oh, he’s in law school. Spencer, if you’re out there, we’re looking for you. Dylan wants to know my plan for the O line. I value continuity, Dylan. I would bring back Simpson and Meyers. See if AVT would come back on a prove it deal. And then I will use one of my early picks and draft a guard or center, whichever is available to me as my AVT insurance to get someone eventually in the pipeline that’s going to take over and start because I think you can get Myers back on another one-year deal. And look, if there’s a great guard that falls to the Jets with the Indie pick, if they have it, I could take that guy and put him and put and put Titman back at center. There’s a great center that falls to me. Great. leave Tipman at guard. I’m going into it with an open mind with my intention of trying to uh keep the same guys. Maybe I move on from Simpson. I don’t think he’s had the best year, but I I would bring back Myers. I think he’s been adequate and I certainly I’m open to giving AV look at the guard market, right? You got a bunch of guys that make like 20 something million. Then all the other guards make under 10. Offer AVT a one-year $5 million deal with uh playing time incentives where he can make 10 million. See if he takes it. That’s what I would do. Curly says, “Favorite Thanksgiving side.” Great question. Personally, big fan of mac and cheese, but also I like a lot of sides. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes. If we’re talking about like the right kind of Thanksgiving role, I’m all about that. By the way, I’m going to need you guys Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I got eight hours of radio to fill. Not exactly the easiest time to be doing a talk show when the Jets and Giants both kind of stink. So, I’m hosting the morning show on ESPN New York uh this Thursday and Friday. Thursday, I’m with Ty Butler. Friday, I’m solo. So, we need a bunch of asmaniacs to call in. Make it more fun. Oh, potato salad. I like potato salad, too. PA Beast Breaker says, “Yes, mac and cheese. Dig it, brother.” All right, I got the beast approval. Boss girl, you’re not potatoed out at the wedding. I’m not. I I’ll definitely have more more of your calls, ladies and gentlemen. And this man has returned from Wendy’s. It’s time. Don’t put too much on this song because uh you’ll have a roasted [ __ ] by the end of the night and going that’s a warning to everybody who do who puts this stuff on and and overd does it. You you’ll be on the toilet screaming your life out and you’ll be asking for the ambulance to come by and uh pick you up off the toilet and you know and clean you off. But I what I do see, you made one point. We do need some bigger dudes on the O line. And I’m talking bigger dudes. At least 290, maybe 300 lbs. Maybe do a little shoving. Not this. Not Not get your hands like this. Time to get serious. These last five, maybe six more games. discipline, honor, courage, wisdom, even a little bit of brains. Time to start using this. You want to, if you really, really want this and you want it that bad, you know what? You better pay your fair share up because this doesn’t come easy. You know, you don’t get anything freehanded anymore. No, there’s no free handouts. No, it’s called you come to work, you get your ass kicked, and you leave. Straight simple. One, two, three. It’s just it’s it’s it’s plain simple. It’s like when you’re working in O line, all you got to do is work it. It’s it’s not it’s not sex, dummies. It’s smart football. It’s common sense. There’s two things that everyone needs to learn. Brains, common sense. This is what this is what we’ve been preaching all year. I like I like where this is going in direction as in term. Would you say that you’re a model of brains and common sense beast for everyone out there to if you look at the calculations you got to start really realizing that number one our team has basically uh farted the season away by you know I got gas right now [Music] mental mistakes cheat oh no tackling no discipline but in the last five or six weeks. I’m We’re starting to see a little turn, but I think it’s time to just say, “Wils got to go, bro. You’re not.” [Music] Imagine Glenn walked into Wilks office and was like, “Wils got to go, bro.” More of your calls coming up. Kyle Clifton checking it with a super chat here. since has become something of a culinary show. I’m having Creole shrimp with cheesy grits and green beans for lunch. Maybe Factor can sponsor the show in the future. If anyone out there wants to sponsor the show, Factor would definitely welcome you. Anyone out there who’s got a small business, maybe you’re doing something for the holiday season and you want the Asmaniacs to support, reach out as Jake@gmail and we could definitely work something out. big fellow with a super champ. By the way, Kyle, if I didn’t have a shellfish allergy, I’m sure Creole Shrimp would be outstanding. Jake Myers can’t start at center for us. He can’t snap the ball. Oh, he’s low. We need a guy who actually do his one job. Favorite anime uh favorite anime of all time is Dragon Ball Z. DBZ. Um, as far as your first point here, big fella. I think Meyers is like a below average starter. He’s a high quality backup. I would bring him back. He’s on a one-year deal. See if you can give him the similar contract and bring him back for depth. And I’m open to drafting a center with one of the two second round picks or a guard and then Titman slides back to center. I think you use the the draft board to your advantage knowing you have Titman who could play both center and guard at a high level. He could do both. Some think he’s a better guard, some think he’s a better center. I think he can do both at a high level. I’ll leave it to the Jets coaches to determine, you know, their best five, but you know, to me, like you can never have enough depth on your O line. I think Myers has played well. Like the Jets, outside of losing ABT, let’s knock on wood, they’ve had the same five offensive linemen for all the games. I value continuity with a rookie quarterback coming in, right? You don’t need five studs on your O line. You need a couple studs and the other guys, if they’re solid and know their role, you could get away with it. The Jets O line has been pretty good this year. It’s best it’s been in years. I got Olu, I got Meu. They’re only going to be better with another year together. Titman is either a guard or center for me. And I’d like to bring AVT back on a one-year proof of deal. You have the cap space to do it. You’re not going into the year banking on him, but if he is back, he completely elevates your ceiling for your unit. And again, he I think would be open to coming back on a one-year proof of a deal. He’s voted the team captain. I know Aaron Glenn was raving about him in the summer. I I have no issue offering AVT one year, five million, five million in playing time incentives. I think he would take that. Let him you let him compete for the starting job with either Meyers or a rookie they take in the second or fourth round. Uh Supreme Juice says, “Beast, you remind me of the fat guy from Austin Powers that says, “Get in my belly.” Hey Beast, give us a get in my belly. N I don’t think so. If if they want if they really want that kind of stupid [ __ ] go watch the movie. And uh remember, it’s it’s it’s holiday time. So enjoy them turkeys, enjoy them mashed potatoes, enjoy those rolls, even some cauliflower. And if if anyone out there is German, enjoy some sauerkraut. Thank you, Beast. All right, more of your calls right now. A lot of you have been great on the phones today. How many points will this guy make now? Get ready for Neil. He will make 13 points about the New York Jets and maybe a hump of Patriots jersey. Get ready for Neil. He’s probably smoking a beard fat cigar and burn his house to the ground. That’s [Music] Jake, my brother. How are you today? Happy almost Thanksgiving. Neil, let me tell you something. I This is my favorite holiday. I just did all the shopping and I got to tell you something. This meal is I I I want to video my table for Thanksgiving and you will not believe what’s gonna what’s going to be on this. By the way, Kyle Clifton, man, I love grits, man. Cheesy grits. That sounds I’m coming over for lunch. Where’s Kyle Clifton live? Uh Kyle Clifton lives in Queens. Does he really? Yeah, he’s in uh he’s in Queens. I’ve sent him many raffle prizes over the years. Oh [ __ ] All right. He’s not that far. I like to get together with him with a little some grits. What we do here, the Italians, the grits for for Italians is palenta. And my father-in-law used to make palenta fresh, you know, like grits, if you remember that movie um uh the Peshi movie, you know, the where he’s with the with the uh when he’s the lawyer. What’s it called again? Come on, Jake. The lawyer with Peshi. I need more than that. The one with the with the the Italian thing when he goes to Alabama and gets his what’s his name? Out of jail. Oh, my cousin Vinnie. My cousin Vinnie when he goes to eat the grits and he says no self-respecting Southerner will make grits, you know, you know, use instant grits. Now, there’s instant palenta and then there’s real cornmeal palenta. Hey, hold on a second. I got breaking news here. Here, let me appropriately set this one up because this is uh potentially a groundbreaking moment for the show. Breaking sports on the show. Beast just wrote in that he does a John a Joe Peshy. Beast, give us your Peshi. Hey, you talking to Joe Peshy, huh? Hey, I swear to you, if I you you lay another hand on my mother, yeah, you’re going to be kissing your feet, you’ll be I’ll be knocking it around your ass. Okay. You tell me how crazy I am. where I am. I just took four chair head shot. Wonderful. All right, continue. Neil the beast. Anyhow, um going to break some grits with the with Kyle Clifton. That’ll be a nice That would be nice. But to make the palenta, you have to make it sausage and peppers and onions and you mix it in with the palenta after it’s cooked. It’s unbelievable. All right. So, he if he knows how to make grits, he probably could learn how palenta is very very similar and it’s a little better taste than the grits, but you have to make it like chunkier in that. Um, my only jet point is this. This is the offensive line I want to start the season next year. I want Olu at left tackle. I want AVT back as a short as a one-time pro deal. I’m done with Simpson, Jake. He’s not had a good year. He’s a lot of penalties. He’s given up a lot of lot of pressures. You know, he had a couple big penalties on screens. He’s always He’s done. He had a great year for us his first year, but I’m not happy with him. And I want Linderbound. I want to spend some money in free agency, and I want to get Linder Balam as a center. And then we go with the right guard. Why would the Ravens let Linderbomb walk? He’s a free agent. Yeah, but why would why wouldn’t they just pay him? They’re a smart organization. We’re gonna pay him more, Jake. Okay, we’re gonna pay him more. We’re gonna spend some money this year. You sound like Beast. Just spend the $2 billion. I want I want Woody to open the checkbook like Stevie Cohen does, Uncle Stevie. And start Yeah, but Steve Cohen doesn’t have to worry about a salary cap. The baseball doesn’t have a cap. Does I know that, Jake. But guess what? All right. Right now, we have nobody on our offensive line that is getting a huge contract at this point. Do we do we have any? But eventually, let’s take one. Could we have one offensive lineman that we’re paying, you know, a big bag of cash to? I’m all right spending a bag on a on a one. If he got the free agency, I certainly would be open to it because sure, I mean, you can make it you you could justify it, but I don’t know if they want to spend that kind of money on a center when they have a bunch of other needs on the defense and some other offensive pieces they might value more. Meyers is a good player. I am. He is absolutely correct about his snaps. His snaps are horrendous. Okay, he snaps everything to the kneecaps and below. And that’s a big problem. I I don’t like the snaps that he has. And you know, Meyers is a good player, but he’s not, you know, and he doesn’t, you know, I want a brick house offensive line to protect Kurt Cousins. Perhaps perhaps Kurt Cousins will be our bridge next year. And he needs protection. If you protect Kurt Cousins, he could be throwing the ball downfield to Garrett. What is Atlanta? Atlanta Atlanta needs Kurt Cousins. One, he’s under contract, and two, Penn is not going to be healthy at the start of next year. I’m hearing that Kurt Cousins because of possibility. I don’t want Kirk Cousins. No. Who do you want, Jake? I want someone younger. And who do I want? I want them to draft a quarterback in the first round. I get it, but who’s going to be the bridge? I don’t want the You want Who could be my bridge? Who? Gardenner Menchu, Chief’s backup. Gardner Menchu. The bridge is not going to play that long. The rookie is going to play at some point next year. Eight games. Look, he’s going to play eight games. Say that now. That all sounds good. Look at Jackson Dart. He was in by the fourth game. Yeah, but we’re not going to pick Jackson Dart. Yeah, we’re going to pick someone even higher than Jackson. Jackson Dud. That’s who we’re gonna pick. Maybe. But like they’re that guy’s gonna play. You know how this works. I get it. But let’s, you know, uh, Buffalo Jet fan hates M. Jones. He calls him a name, Mac something. He can’t stand. I don’t think he’s any good. I think he’s a product of Kyle Shanahan. I think if the Jet, like there’s no scenario in my mind where if the Jets actually gave up, let’s say, like a fourth round pick to get M. Jones, he’s good with the Jets. Like he he will not be good if the New York Jets are bringing him into play. Like there’s just no scenario where that works out. Maybe for a different team. I do not believe there’s a chance in hell the Jets could get M. Jones and he would look good as the bridge quarterback. I just don’t see it. Are we gonna try another failed 2021 quarterback? When does Trevor Lawrence join or Tre Lance? Are they the following off seasonason? Well, you just said you want a young bridge and those young Bridges I want a younger Bridge. I don’t want Kirk Cousins. Ah, come on. I think Kirk Cousins could He looked pretty good last week. You know, if you protect him, he could do some damage. Yeah. I just about Brandon Iayuke opposite of of Garrett on the Yeah, I mean if they if they are going to just release him or if they’re listening or AJ Brown as a nice wide receiver, can we spend a little money this year, Jake? They will. Can we spend a little money and get a star wide receiver aside Garrett Wilson? I think that’s a goal. Well, I think ideally you do it in the draft, though, because look at the cost control you have on a position that’s now making over $40 million for some guys. Who in the draft is going to be as good as AJ Smith or Brandon Aayuk? Is there anybody in the draft that you could point to and say we have the next great receiver that Well, there are some great receivers in this draft. I I are they going to be as good as AJ Brown right away? Probably not. But like Garrett Wilson was awesome as a rookie. Like if you could do it right, you could find a real playmaker. Here’s what I want, Jake. I want this team every year for the last four years. Okay. I come on the show during first day of free agency and all we do is wait around for scraps. Okay. You say that’s true though. They did they the last time they spend on scraps. Remember they ended up with the left tackle from Dallas? Yes. They they spent a lot of money. It didn’t work. They they spent like seven $9 million on him and he stunk. They signed a bunch Yeah, but he was the best guy available. They signed a bunch of guys that year. Who was better than Tyron Smith that year? That there was a guard that somebody signed for like $20 million. They didn’t need a guard. They needed a left tackle. Oh, Jesus Christ. We got You called him Tyrone Smith, by the way. That I remember. I know. I know. But, you know, we I I we have to, you know, I want I want this team to spend some money. I want Woody. And they have. That’s not No, they haven’t. Jake, this in particular hasn’t. But the Jets have spent it big in free agency. You don’t remember Le’Veon Bell, Tmaine Johnson, you don’t remember CJama, you don’t remember Cory Davis, you don’t remember Carl Lawson. They’ve spent money in free agency. Tyron Smith, Dwayne Brown, like they spent money. Smith was not a big payday. But that was a big investment in in the offensive tackle spot. They’ve spent money. They they the problem has been they have not always picked the right players in free agency. I go through it every year and I look at the contracts that these other teams have. You were flipping out. You wanted uh Tyron Smith more than anyone. No. No. I wanted him because that’s all that was left on the board. Yeah. Because great players don’t get the free agency. Who got Tonsel? How who how can Laramie Tonsel get taken away from the Texans? Who? He got traded. They traded him. All right. So, what’s So, maybe maybe there’s a a top lineman that they could get in a trade. If you bring up receiver, they are likely to be traded. We just saw George Pickins get traded this past off season. We saw DK Metaf get traded this past offseason. It is very possible that the Jets can acquire a legit receiver in a trade. And that may be part of the reason you have these picks as well. You flip a second round pick for AJ Brown, for example. Sure, we could have that conversation. I don’t think that’s crazy talk. Now, let’s let’s revert back to the bridge. I want to know in the chat. This Jet fan base is full of chickens. Who gives a [ __ ] about next year’s draft? If you guys are not going to fly like eagles and throw some goddamn balls, get the hell off the chat and go hang out with Charles Gorman and his mother eating chicken soup. I’m tired of this [ __ ] That’s what that’s what happens to me in free agency. I get so frustrated that this team with Joe Douglas used to sit there. I’m looking for a bargain. I’m gonna get a bargain player on the draft on on free agency and then we end up with [ __ ] balls. If we don’t get Tyrone Smith and shore up this goddamn offensive line, I’m done. This is [ __ ] Everybody’s praising Joe Douglas. I got to tell you, I’m starting to get pissed. This is the difference between a winner and a goddamn loser. We’re a bunch of losers. I’m tired of it. Tyrone Smith sitting there. What is Joe Douglas saying? But draw the line. I will give you $12 million. Wait, you’re not going to pay the guy? What are you waiting for? Jesus Christ. I’m pissed. And they got him. And he sucked. So relax. You’re not getting it. That was the truest. That was the perfect line because Joe Douglas did not spend money. And this is what we got is dog [ __ ] Neil, who’s the Jets GM right now? Mugie. It’s not Joe Douglas. So why is this relevant? I get it. But I want them to spend Right. and they will, but this is the first time they’ve had this type of salary cap to spend. So, let’s see how they handle it. Now, let me ask you, is it just 120 million or is there more than that? I think it’s less than that, but it’s going to be close to $100 million, give or take, is what they’re projected right now, and they have even more the following year. They they’re building the team up. How about the money we save by getting rid of the two bums? That they’re not bums, but that’s part of it. Oh, Jesus. Stop already. How do you think S and Quinn are b they were not bums for us. They were they were they were Quinn was sick of losing and they weren’t using him the same way Sally used him. They changed his stance in Dallas. Quinn was talking about that this week. No, no. Quinn quit on us when when Rogers left. We know that he didn’t whatever. I’m not arguing with you about Quinn. I’m just telling you I expect him to be active in free agency. That’s good. Let’s be active in free agency. Let’s all get together. Forget draft. Forget Let me tell you something right now. I will You hate the drafts. You hate the draft. I will be at that draft. Let me tell you, we have should have a huge draft party because we’re going to have a lot of draft capital. Are you coming to Pittsburgh if the the Jets are picking very high? Yes. I’m I never been to a draft before. It’s on my bucket list. I’ve been waiting for a draft that we have some capital. And Jesus Christ, it’s any draft. It’s this one, right? I mean, first in two seconds. Next year could be even crazier if they end up keeping it three ones. No, this year is more important because they’re going to go quarterback, right? We have to go, you know, we have to put our Mendoza jackets on. We have to get like all pumped up. I tell you, I like the Oregon quarterback a lot, too. Hopefully, he comes out. And if he’s a top 10 pick, I’m sure his age is going to say to come out this year, especially with a stack quarterback class next year. Jake, what do you think? I think if he’s projected to be a top 10 guy, it would be hard for him to go back to school, even if he gets a lot of money in NIL. Mostly gets like five or six million dollars or something, which is which is great. But guess what? But if he’s a top five pick, he’s guaranteed close to $40 million the second he signs his contract. That’s more than he’s ever going to get in one year of NIL. Exactly. That’s what a first round quarterback gets guaranteed. I mean, that’s I haven’t checked the the rookie wage scale since Zach Wilson, but Zach Wilson got like 35 million guaranteed for being the second pick in 2021. That was his contract. Oh my god. And the money only goes up, so it’s probably even higher now a few years removed from that. Philly Noodles is commenting, “Listen, Philly, you got your wish of Are you watching uh Devonte Adams score record amount of touchdowns? Are you watching Aaron Rodgers play on a winning team? Are you Ladies and gentlemen, sports fans of all ages, welcome to the event of the year, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. This is the Asaniac Rumble. [Applause] Philly Noodles. There he is. The captain of the Get Rid of Rogers squad. And now we got dog [ __ ] Justin Fields and a dog [ __ ] team this year. How does it feel to be a basement dweller again, Philly? I know you love being a basement dweller. That’s where you live. So, go ahead. When do you think the Steeler season tanks? last week or this week? When do you think the Steelers season’s going to tank? This week or last week? Guess what? Guess what? If I have if I would I would be rather watching the Steelers on Sunday than watching a two and 10 team tank. Well, I’m sorry, Gorman. We’re not talking about that right now. If you’re going to go the Gorman route, you can go that route. I just want to know, are you still thrilled with the fact that we rolled with Justin Fields and this coaching staff and we’re two and [ __ ] 10? Are you happy? Are you happy? Well, hold on a second. Billy, listen. I know you’re a big guy. I’ll chop you down like a tree, you big I Well, you just talked for about eight hours, so you got to give me about three minutes, so just give it a second here. I said enough. I put you in I shrunk you down to about three foot tall. Now get back to fight. I’m fine. I’m fine. Devonte Adams had an opportunity to go play with another receiver on his on the other side of Mr. uh Mr. Rogers neighborhood and he decided not to go there which was probably to his benefit because he’s went to a younger better quarterback and is now probably poised to go to the Super Bowl. You want to call Stafford a younger quarterback? He’s 38. How old is he? 37. How old is he? Well, let’s put it this way. Philly Aaron Rogers Wait, let’s put it this way. Aaron Rogers is moving better than Justin Fields this year. Justin Field sits in the pocket like a effing stat. He’s got about 20 yards rushing every single game this year. The guy has been absolute trash. You couldn’t be more excited to have him this year. You were all pumped up. Oh, we’re gonna be great. I’m so glad we got rid of Aaron Rogers and Devonte. Look where we are now. Come on. You just complained. You just complained religiously about Joe Douglas, which were passed, but about what money he didn’t spend. You’re right. He didn’t. He spent future draft capital, which is [ __ ] worse. Okay. So, we’re in agreement there. Okay. So, we’re in agreement that that was poised. Well, how do you feel about my take on the O line beefing up the old What about AVT versus getting rid of Simpson? Didn’t you agree with me at Simpson having an off year? I think he’s been that good. I think he’s having a questionable year, but there’s also a new system. So, you can get a you can get a rookie on page faster maybe than a veteran. I don’t know. But I still think that ABT is more of a a swing if you bring it back at a cheaper deal. And I’d rather retain John Simpson knowing what I’ve got. I got a guy who’s not going to get injured. I can’t. The center is the worst part. I think that we should take uh a lineman in free agency and spend a little money on the offensive line. Every good team, Philly, has at least two guys on their offensive line that are bookend tackles. What’s that? We got bookend tackle. We got bookend tackles. Listen, I think the center is the biggest questionable thing. I’m saying it again. Most teams that compete, the Rams, all the top teams have at least two linemen making over $20 million a year. You know that. You quantified that. You quantified that. You checked it. You fact checked it. I know, but I I know it from last year. I looked at everybody’s every major team’s offensive line has that that’s in the that is considered a top offensive line has at least one if not two linemen that are making big bucks. So, let me ask you this question. Let me ask you this question. Go ahead. So, then are we an outlier? Because we have two bookend rookie tackles and first year first year and second year starting tackles that are playing and outperforming other teams bookends that are spending money and we have a guard who converted from center who’s better than most guards normally. So we really just need a center is what you’re saying. That’s why I mean I don’t again a nice plug and play. I’m sure there’ll be a guy out there. Here’s all I’m saying, Philly. If there is a guy available, I know we all want receivers. We all want, you know, the pretty little picture in the We always want the pretty guy, okay? But offensive line, if you’re going to win in this league, you have to have I want our offensive line maybe is top 12 right now. Top 15. I think they were ranked 22nd last week, I checked. But let’s say they’re top 15, right, Philly? If we add a major guy on the offensive line and pay him big bucks now and we bring ABT back on a prove it deal now we’re a top five offensive line. Get it? Okay. Sure. But then at that rate you could put whatever quarterback you that’s serviceable enough back there. You don’t have to have Aaron Rogers. You don’t have to have Justin Fields running around. You don’t have to have any of Let’s stop talking about Aaron Rogers. What about him? Another oldie but goodie. You like Cody? No. That’s what happened. That’s crazy. That’s So, you want one ACL to the next ACL? Come on, man. And they’re not getting rid of him first off. Well, well, let me put it this way. Who do you like as a bridge? Let me hear who you like as a bridge. Come up for air there on your first our first tough It’s my lunch hour. I got to eat, man. So, this is the tough part. Hold on. Hold on. This is the tough part. Tough part. Whoever we’d really like is got to be traded for. I think Brassette would be one of my top options. I like Jacobe Brassette. You gota trade like Okay, you gotta trade for him. Uh Davis Mills, you gotta trade for him. So Davis Mills. Oh, back up. Back up. Davis Mills. I would serviceable. I said serviceable. A lot of easy passes. He stinks. He serviceable. I don’t wasn’t serviceable. Look at Tyrod is serviceable right now. You know what I mean? Tyrod is okay. He’s a two and 10 quarterback. Okay. Stop. Sure. Rod serviceable. I can’t stand watching him. How about that? I want at least somebody I could watch. I’ll take Jameus Winston over Tyrod Taylor. At least Jameus Winston, by the way, took a pass. Let me say this to you. When he took I saw what he did. What? Oh my god. When he took that pass into the end zone last week on that fl free flicker, right? Remember? Did you see that play? Oh, I saw that play. Yeah. He took on two guys and ran into the end zone. Justin Fields would have danced out of bounds cuz he’s such a puss. And Tyrod Taylor probably would have broke his leg on the way to the end zone. I think Justin Fields would have ran so fast away from them. They wouldn’t been able to touch. That’s beside the point. That’s beside the point. Billy, he runs to the sideline like he’s Zach Wilson. He’s He’s done. Let me tell you something. This Justin feels if I was the coach, I’d sit him down and say, “Listen, you’re gonna be our new weapon in the back.” He really did something, he could be a weapon in the back field, but he won’t do it. He wants to be a pocket passer. Well, this is the problem that we’ve had. It’s either we were lied to or tricked because we assumed they would take Fields and use him how he should be versus what they decided to do with him. We know that he worked with Eric with Jared Golf, right? That’s the only type of comp I want at this point. That’s what I want because unless you get Caleb Williams, which I don’t think there’s a Caleb Williams coming out of this draft, what are we where are we at at that point? You got to think about that. Yeah. I like I said, I I I really want to see a nice bridge that gives us a chance to win more than six games. You tell me how crazy I am. I am. I just took four chair head shot. All right. What a rumble there. I love when Philly and Neil go at it. Incredible. Uh Philly, enjoy your lunch. That line by Neil. That’s great. Unreal. Uh New York and Atlanta, I see you. You’re in the raffle for one. Your last chance. I started counting the remaining names during that rumble there. Peter W, I see you. You’re in there for two. What’s wrong with Tyrod being the bridge? Well, um yeah. Okay. Lol. No cousins, though. Yeah. Look, I I want nothing to do with cousins. Honestly, I really don’t. Tyrod is a perfect bridge if he was not made of glass. Like, if you guaranteed me health for Tyrod, he’s a adequate bridge quarterback. He’s fine. He’s a good backup. He can’t stay healthy. I mean, he took that one hit in the game on Sunday and I’m like, “All right, here we go. Is he going to be out?” You just don’t know. Like, this guy got hurt. Like, we don’t even know how he got hurt this year. He got hurt in training camp. He was out. Missed all the preseason. Then he got hurt leading up to the Bengals game. I don’t even know the play where he got hurt on in the Carolina game. And I was at the game. So, yeah, Tyrod, if he could stay healthy, he is a good bridge. You can’t stay healthy. Big fella. I’m thinking it’s a possibility. Arch comes out. If New Orleans is in the top two or three in the draft, he has been playing better and could be picked one. I don’t think he’d go one. I think he’s already said he’s staying in school. I don’t think playing in New Orleans is that important to him either, right? Like Pton Manning played in Indianapolis. Eli went to New York. Loyal to New Orleans just because he’s from there. Like I I think it’d be cool for him, I’m sure, but I don’t think that matters. Big fell. I think he’s going to do what’s right for his development. I think staying at Texas another year is in the best interest for him. It’s not like he needs the money, right? He’s making a ton in NIL and his last name is Manning. He’s doing okay. Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the midst of counting all the raffle names. And I’ll tell you, a lot of you are in for this week. And we got three great prizes. And if you enter today, you’re in already for next week, too. The two for one special. Uh, great comment here from Ali Shaughness. Is there an overunder on Neil’s points way past 13? Well, you you throw the points out the window with a Neil call that involved a rumble, but there were a lot of points made today. Common says, “His arch force a trade if the Jets draft him maybe.” Black Gypsy in for one. Mr. Gypsy, congratulations. Another entry for you, good sir. Um, all right. Oh, Papa Jet getting in on the fun. Hold on. I was about to set things up for the raffle and Papa Jet said, “Wait, I want in. Five spot from Papa. It’s up to you. New York. New York.” By the way, shout out to Joe B coming on yesterday. A positive Joe B. Optimistic Joe. Mike Dems, I see you. Here we go. We’re adding these in real time here. He’s in for another one. Thank you, Mike. We got Mike in here. He is in. Boom. Ho ho ho. Big Cho Cho Cho. For those who missed it, Big Cho is now home after his back surgery. He’s resting up. So, these raffles have been great. We’ve been doing them for almost a year to the date. This is our 50th raffle since December 1st of last year. here. So again, thanks to the audience for making it all possible. Here we go. One spin to determine each winner. You can only win once per weekly raffle. We will do the Wayne Crebette football first. The winner of the signed number 80 football is Rick Kent. Rick Kent is our first winner. Congratulations to Rick Kent. We will remove Rick’s entries as he has won his first prize in the weekly raffle. Now we will do our second prize. This jersey might be even more valuable as the years go on because I think Armanu is going to be one of the best tackles in the league for a long time. Signed Armanu jersey prize two. Your winner is spin it. Taylor Denafhrio. Hey, Taylor D checking in. Taylor actually was on hold before he dropped off. We’ll get to him, I’m sure, in the afternoon show. Taylor, congratulations, guys. What is this? Your third raffle win the last like two weeks. You got a jersey. I think you won something else. Congratulations. Welld deserved. Appreciate your support, Taylor. You’re an awesome caller. He is our second winner. We got one prize left. It is the grand prize. Signed football by one of the all-time greats, a future Hall of Famer, a man whose number should be retired by the New York Jets, the late great Nick Mangled. A sign football by number 74. One last spin to determine the winner. And the winner of the mangled sign ball is Green Gang. Green Gang 365. Shout out to Green Gang. That guy is a diehard Jet fan from the Baltimore area. So, he hadn’t called in this week yet, but I’m assuming he was at the game Sunday, so he didn’t get to see a Jet win, but he does get to enjoy a beautiful Nick Mangled football to display in his home. That does it for the weekly raffle. How about a jet chair for our three winners hit it? Again, thank you to everyone who supports the program. We couldn’t do it without you. Rick, Kent, Taylor D, Green Gang, your three winners. I will make sure we get those prizes sent out this week. Ladies and gentlemen, reminder, if you entered today, you’re already in for next week. Sign Derrell Rivas jersey, prize one. Signed Leanian Tomlinson jersey, prize two. Signed CJ Mosley helmet prize three. Again, you guys are the best. Thank you all for watching. Love the fan base. Love the Asmaniacs. We will be back this afternoon. Joe Buitt will be on. So, you know, that is obviously going to be a tremendous, tremendous show. Until then, though, I’ll talk to you guys soon. I’ll leave you with this. JS Jets, Jets, Jets. Let’s go. [Music] Breaking sports news just in from the Jay Casman show. After the New York Jets embarrassed themselves, losing 27 to6 on Monday Night Football to the below average Chargers, quarterback Zack Wilson showed once again that he’s not ready for prime time. So, when ESPN’s Michael Kay questioned head coach Robert Salah about possibly benching the number two overall pick, Kay was hit with a somewhat confusing response. You got Trevor Simeon. Why not give him a try? That’s a fair question. I don’t know. You got me. I’m going to I’m going to plead the fifth on all this one. The head coach actually took the fifth, sending shock waves throughout the Jet fan base. And the following day, our hero, the great Jake Hasman, along with some very frustrated fans, let their voices be heard at this unhinged and tragic New York Jets press conference.
