[Berman] Kevin Patullo’s overriding sentiment was that penalties have been the biggest issue with offensive consistency. He pointed to the way Dallas Goedert’s explosive play was wiped off the board.

  1. Poor discipline is a byproduct of poor coaching.

Who’s our offensive coach? Oh that’s right, it’s you dumbfuck.

  2. to be fair, without the insane number of penalties we probably eek out an ugly win like we have every week, with nothing different about the offense. Would’ve seen a lot more “there’s nothing wrong, we’re 9-2” lol

  3. My sentiment is penalties are also on coaching and if that’s this weeks excuse after 11 weeks of this bullshit you should be fired.

  4. How about 3rd and 2, tie game with less than 3 minutes left in the game, and you have Hurts drop back to get sacked?

  5. I don’t expect the penalty issue to get any better because we’re over 10 weeks in and it’s been a consistent problem.

  6. Penalties are certainly a problem and would go a long way to putting some more points on the board. The offense is also dog shit regardless of penalties.

  7. What about the lack of run game? Cowboys defense is terrible but they were blowing up the OL on obvious run plays.

I’m always preaching in here that they’ll be ups and downs. But this is the first time I think the Eagles are ignoring a very obvious problem.

  8. I actually don’t think I have heard this dude take responsibility once in any interview. Which is crazy considering the coach and QB fall over each other running to take blame. No way anyone in that locker room respects him.

  9. Then the bigger issue once its 1st and 15, the drive is essentially over because next play 4 yard out, the a one yard inside zone, then an incomplete pass because if its completed it’s another penalty.

  10. Dude should be the only one getting wiped off the board.

I can’t believe he’s blaming the penalties lmao

  11. I don’t necessarily disagree that penalties have been as big of a problem as the play calling this year. With that being said a team that is undisciplined and takes a bunch of penalties is usually a team that is coached poorly.

  12. I said this was going to be the case in another comment.

They’ll self scout and blame penalties and not realise any issues schematically.

  13. Penalties don’t explain all the 3 and outs, the lack of flow, the lack of formation and movement to set things up.

  14. The overriding sentiment is that you dont know how to scheme offense and the players dont have any respect for you

  15. The penalties were pretty biased this last game. 7-13 calls and in some critical times along with really questionable calls.

  16. if the scheme only works as long as you get 100% flawless execution from all 11 players every time with little room for error…it is not a good enough scheme

  17. 1) penalties are on you the coaching staff
    2) so the offense isn’t designed to overcome a penalty?

  18. I know y’all hate him but he’s not wrong. I would also like to hear him take some accountability though.

  19. I am very anti Kevin at this point. He’s not wrong here. We got behind the sticks it seemed like every drive in the second half and wiped out multiple big plays. But also fire Kevin

  20. “Hey, it’s not my inability to call half-decent playcalls, it’s my inability to coach a disciplined unit!”

  21. Maybe we’d have far less penalties if our incompetent OC could scheme open our star players, didn’t take until 5 seconds on the play clock to get it in to Hurts to give our offense a better chance over the defense (instead of vice versa), therefore making some players more likely to mess up by trying to do too much to make up for the terrible scheme.

The lack of accountability is insane.

  22. Yes, it is an undisciplined unit. Whose fault is that? Where is the running game? Or any game at all for that matter. We have the top offensive talent in the league! THE PLAY CALLING SUCKS!

  23. Your players literally said they weren’t ready for Dallas’ 5 man front. They are generating penalties because they’re not prepared and at a disadvantage

  24. His answer reflects the biggest red flag about him. He never provides any actual insight and instead gives very obvious reasons that border on excuses.

After seeing what we’ve seen from Patullo the basic answers he gives are likely bc he doesn’t have sufficient grasp of the technicals to have the job of oc not some type of gamesmanship.

I’m sure he’s a fine person and could maybe even one day succeed at OC but his current skill set makes him under-qualified from a pure skill/technical standpoint to be the OC for this team and this time.

Happens all the time in the professional world – rectify the mistake by replacing him or (if you see some potential) bringing in an adult to hold his hand.

  25. Penalties have been an issue all year. That’s on the coaching staff. Although that one on Smitty was some bs.

  26. I’m almost certain this team would be 5-6 right now if it weren’t for Vic Fangio. That’s the record I feel we’re currently playing at.

  27. Fire this motherfucker **right now**. What are Howie and Lurie doing? Did Sirianni threaten to quit if they did?

  28. Patullo sucks and Sirianni isn’t doing his job as a non play calling HC if the team is committing so many penalties.

  29. Someone for the love of god correct me but have we even once heard KP say “I have to be better”? Like just fucking once has he publicly admitted that he’s doing a bad job? It’s one things to be awful but being so steadfast in it makes me so much more annoyed

  30. I keep reminding myself ive seen two super bowls and not to take it for granted, but man this season has been first in the unfun

  31. I’m all for giving new coaching talent a chance, but the way we drop these absolute duds right into the driver’s seat is concerning. Lurie should know better at this point.

  32. The biggest issue is that this piece of shit can never call a complete game he’s the definition of inconsistent

  33. News flash, patterns of excessive penalties fall on coaching in games & practices. This guy’s a cuck.

  34. maybe instead of blaming penalties we can give the ball to tank bigsby or run some outside plays instead of saquon up the middle?

  35. He’s not wrong, but for him to place blame and receive none, is one of the reasons he needs to go.
