Maybe if he fails as a Head Coach next year?
Yeah because that’ll make the players have more skill. They need a whole new defense, a coach wont matter
Now here’s a guy with zero ball knowledge since he thinks DC is the issue.
The issue is, and always has been, talent. We are watching the second DC working with the same or mostly similar squad and they still suck. Either…
1. Both guys suck.
2. The talent they are being given to work with suck.
I honestly don’t have much to say about Golden but Lou is a fine DC. The players that the FO drafted were project players and they haven’t worked out.
He’s had an easy schedule and the colts D is still bottom half in a lot of defensive categories. Outside of the games where they got to pummel on bad teams they have not played well on defense.
ngl, wouldn’t mind having him as a head coach with a fresh new OC, and an actual GM to get him some players.
It would make no difference. Everyone complained about him when he was here. I don’t think it’s Lou or Golden. I just think the culture of our team is soft under Taylor. We don’t play AFC North football anymore. To be honest, I don’t know what our culture is. We don’t really have a running game. No hard nosed defense. We might as well be in the NFC South.
Al Golden is a good coach. Notre Dame’s defense wasn’t as talent laden as a lot of college programs but Al got the best out of them. He just doesn’t have the players here.
This sub has an unmatched ability to fantasize that a team with an absolute shit ton of problems could be fixed by the return of one person. We did the same thing with Joe Mixon. Now Lou. Even Germaine Pratt.
We don’t possess the defensive talent to execute his scheming properly
We had a top half defense exactly 1 time with Lou lol stop it
That face when your FO makes trash draft picks and you can’t leave fast enough.

I think this sub sometimes over romanticized Lou, he wasn’t a world beater D coordinator and his ability to find talent in the draft wasn’t good.
Imagine firing Zac and bring back Lou as HC lol
Possibly the worst move any NFL team made the past several seasons. Conversely maybe the BEST move from the Colts perspective. They went from one of the worst to a top 10 defense partially due to hiring a great DC, while the Bengals went to one of the worst in history by replacing a great DC with a terrible one.
How often have we seen the Bengals defense quit and give up on tackles? The defense no longer has discipline nor basic skills.
Bates, Bell, Awuzie, Apple, Wilson, Reader, Pratt, Hubbard are names that come to mind why our defense has issues now. That Super Bowl roster is GONE.
This defense we have is literally lou anorumos creation. We are the only team he has helped put together, he didnt develop any of the 10+ top 100 drafted players we took on defense while he was here
The Colts are gonna discover the same thing the Bengals did; he is terrible at evaluating and developing young talent.
Even with the abysmal bears and jets games, the passing defense is already better than last year.
