  1. My only issue is what I’m wondering what we’d have to give up to get anyone decent that could make the offense flow.

But I definitely think it needs to be done regardless.

  2. Return of the point forward, SloMo. He also guards 5’s better than Randle or Naz. Win-win

  3. Looking for a upgrade at PG just for us to have them spot up for Ant and Randle iso ball

  4. Who’s on the table?

Naz isn’t eligible for a few more weeks I believe if we even wanted to go that route.

    DDV, Shannon Jr & Dilly?

  5. If we can all clearly see its an issue obviously Connelly can too so this isn’t a surprise. The surprise will be how big we swing and we all know Connelly likes to swing big.

If we swing big Ja is the obvious answer with us already being connected to him previously. Otherwise Garland had been linked before. I don’t know who else is even available on a big swing. Harden? Ball?

Otherwise some mid tier PGs could be White, Ayo, Sexton, McConnell.

I think Connelly definitely gets a deal done so it will be interesting to see the direction he goes. Is he trying to just help the immediate future? Or will this move help set us up with someone next to Ant long-term

  6. This is why a lot of my frustration goes toward TC, Mike was clearly over the hill last year, serious doubts about Rob in what was a shaky Vegas showing yet he brings in Bones Hyland who serves no purpose to this team. Can’t tell me there’s not a vet or someone from overseas that would look at this situation as a golden opportunity.

Just wasting roster spots, I know people like Joe Ingles but it’s the same with him. At the time of the resigning, people told me that he’s a good vet presence to have, how’s that working out for us? I’m not seeing any of the benefits of his mentorship on the court. OKC isn’t wasting roster spots, why are we?

  7. if somehow wolves could steal kriss dunn , the dude has a good pnr, defensive talents , spacing ( not that great but could be managable)

there are no good guard who can fit in wolves offense at least at least without giving up donte divincenzo or naz

with rudy gobert slowly losing his steps and no establised guards without giving up a key core , this team’s ceiling drops heavily from nba finals to 2nd round exits

  8. It wont be as clear as good point guard in = good team. The team will have to change how they play offense completely if we get a seriously competent PG.

  9. The thing is, do we try and trade Randle for a star PG, or do we trade minor pieces like Donte for more of a role PG?

  10. hot takes
-by the end of the playoffs, coach finch gets kicked out of the wolves and is no longer the coach
(coach finch couldnt achieve better things from literally the same team but now with even worse pg rotations, feel sorry for finch but it is what it is )

-timber wolves blow up their main key pieces (one or two of the starters + anyone from the bench and 1st round picks ) to get another guy
    , wolves are messed up
they cant sign any good players without giving up one of their huge contract and expect every year to achieve something better by running back the same shit which didnt work against top teams

and i expect gobert to be traded soon , the dude’s aging and looking at antman’s mentality i dont think he can wait anyfurther

  11. Watch it be someone like Tyus Jones or Russell Westbrook. Lol!

Ja, LaMello, and Trea Young are way too expensive.

James Harden would be a great fit on this team but makes too much money too.

I still think the most likely case to add a quality PG is on a buyout. I don’t think we have the resources to make a splash trade for a big piece.

Honestly, I would take a shot on old ass CP3 because of his high BBIQ and he was pretty good for San Antonio last year. CP3 and Conley would be the oldest PG pairing in the league but if you split up the minutes evenly and keep both fresh for the playoffs, we might have something there. And having two PG’s with extremely high BBIQs would do nothing but help this team.

  12. I just don’t understand the idea of getting Ja. To me, he doesn’t really address many of our problems, especially for the expected price and his salary. H certainly wouldn’t make us a more serious team or improve our bball IQ, he’s not a good defender, not a good shooter. He’s a ball dominant guard with major issues.

  13. Tre Jones seems pretty acquirable from the Bulls. Would love someone that doesn’t get targeted in pick n rolls from the Lukas and Shais of the world.

Other decent options that are realistically acquirable and doesn’t blow up the current team:
    – Kris Dunn
    – Nembhard
    – Cole Anthony
    – KPJ
    – Gary Payton
    – Coby White (might need to get paid soon)
    – Jaden Ivey (pistons probably hold, plus he may be a bit redundant)
    – Sexton
    – Scottie Pippen Jr. (hurt) or Vince Williams
    – Isaiah Collier (jazz probably hold, but he’s coming off the bench with Keyonte’s breakout)

  14. Unless we’re shifting players from the top 7 out the door I don’t see the point of a PG addition. Center/Another big wing is a bigger necessity.

It’s different if we’re making an actual splash move and shaking the team up but I really doubt that’s gonna happen.

  15. Collin Gillespie for Clark or TJ + 2 rounder or Collin Gillespie + salary filter for Dilly

  16. would the pacers trade nembhard since there rebuilding? donte and rob for him would get the job done

  17. Shroeder is the only real “starter” that allows us to keep our existing top 6. He’s not elite but can facilitate and defend. Biggest thing will be unlocking the spot up shooting in the non Ant minutes.

Naz/DDV can absolutely punish teams from 3 if they have a creator out there with them playing good D. That’s the biggest issue with NAW leaving is he could guard the POA and facilitate off the bench. Dennis is a better ball handler than NAW which was the issue in WCF for this roster. NAW obviously is a better shooter but not exactly where we’re currently struggling.

  18. > Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards is considered untouchable by the franchise, while forward Jaden McDaniels is viewed as close to untouchable as well, league sources told HoopsHype.

  19. This is gonna sound nuts but I hope we don’t trade Rob when we get a new PG, he’s still so young and it’s not like he’d be worth much anyway, seems like a better idea to keep him around for his rookie contract and see if he develops into a real player when there’s less pressure on him.
