  4. I wonder how much we could realistically expect to save? 5 million? Best case 10 million? Can’t be much higher otherwise idk why Rendon wouldn’t just be Rendon and just collect his full salary on the injured list

  9. For those asking why Rendon would take a cut for this:

    If he is actively on contract he HAS to put in a good faith effort of rehabbing, and if cleared a good faith effort to play if the team needs.

    If he no longer wants to go through some pretty strenuous rehab for both his hip and hit wrist injuries to get back to playing shape, and he has no desire to continue his career, then taking a cut to have an early out would benefit him.

    It’s the same thing Strasburg went through. He had to rehab an injury he wasn’t coming back from, he had to take time away from family to do it, so he forgoes his pay to stop all of that and actually get time to himself.

  22. Any normal person would empathize if they saw someone’s career derailed by injuries and surgeries and constant rehab. But unfortunately not too many of those kinds of people on this sub. Idk apparently something about saying his life doesn’t revolve solely around his job and being upset and lashing out at a heckler one time in his 10+ year career🤷🏽.

    But when trout is constantly hurt it’s suddenly ok bc he gives media lip service😂
