5 of his 7 individual years in Washington were better than that

He’s obviously an extreme example, but players like Rendon are the reason owners are hesitant to ever hand out a long-term megadeal to a 29 year old. Baseball players tend to be most productive in their 20s but become infinitely more expensive for their 30s. Even the ones that remain great will more than likely be a bit of dead weight by the end of the contract.
There goes one of the few remaining active players older than me. Not too many left now
So if this goes through, this means Kris Bryant would have the worst active contract.
