Welp… that is easily one of the most ***ball-busting losses*** of the entire season.
* We peaked in the 1st period. Absolutely dominated Philly in shots and golden chances. Vladar prevented it from being a 3-0 lead or so and we only got a 1-goal lead.
* 2nd period, Philly on their limited shots take advantage with some deflections to tie it up.
* 3rd period, Ekblad gets banged up after a block and Foerster scores the winner in the final 45 seconds.
Bob let’s in 4 goals on 17 shots faced. *sigh*. Aside from the shutout vs New Jersey, his SV% is in a shambolic state 3 of these last 4 games.
Embarrassing and unacceptable.

I’m sorry but our goal tender situation is not looking good. Bob looks washed every other game and Tarasov has for his career been below average. We need Tkachuk for the power play in the worst way. Just not looking good

We need to learn to put together a full 60 in tough games. We either win pretty easily or lose. We’re leaving so many points on the table just by not being able to get to OT

This team needs a break and some depth back before we are seriously in danger of missing the playoffs.

Chucky can’t come back soon enough but I’m starting to doubt he alone can lift up the play of the whole team.
Wtf is that? Can’t even come away with a single point against an Eastern Conference team with 45 seconds left. Lock the fuck in boys. Playoffs are not guaranteed. Fucking pathetic.
I’ve defended their shit play, when it happens, due to all the injuries – it’s understandable and a bit expected.
This one is inexcusable.

Need every point until Tkachuk comes back and the depth guys return, letting this one slide is one that stings.

The last three years are littered with this exact type of game against them. Play a tight game and then give up the go ahead in the late third period. Every time.
We needed the points tonight. Coming away with none there hurts.

Forsling gets his stick slashed out of his hands which allowed the Flyers player to take a clean shot on net for the GWG. That should have been a penalty.
It would be nice to see a save on one of the three goals but I didn’t think Bob was bad. The Third was iffy but the first two were screens/deflected.
The bigger issue was that they had three or four chances to bury a goal, Marchand, E-rod and Carter all missed point blank chances.
Tight games like these were they can’t get separation offensively is when you really miss Barkov and Tkachuk.
Gave Bob a pass for the first two, frist was through four bodies out front, the second was a perfect tip. The last two… Ugh. Our Defense was straight up terrible at clearing traffic and tying up sticks.
Any shots we had from the second period on were all from the outside with zero traffic in front or completely missed. We desperately need these points. Just not good enough Panthers…
Ugly loss. Not doing great overall. That said, I’m not panicking. Injuries have depleted the depth that makes this team really special. Even Kuli, Luosty, Gadjo…those are massive holes in this team. I think once Chucky is back, they’ll have a renewed energy. Hopefully it’s not too late for a real turnaround.

We just can’t get any breaks at all. Really frustrating to watch. No puck luck, one sided reffing, and every single goddamn goalie we play against stayed at a holiday Inn express last night and then had their wheeties.

WHY ARE THE DAMN FLYERS ALWAYS GIVING US TROUBLE?!
1.) We always suck against Philly.
2.) Bob has had bad streaks, it’s all good.
3.) We’ve been in far worse shape during cup runs before.

honestly with how they started the 3rd i had a feeling they might lose this game but to lose it in the dying seconds like that is so brutal. points are so important right now
I really hope Ek is okay. We can’t even afford the injuries we currently have sitting out.
Yikes. Didn’t get to see the game but this seems like a bad game for bob.
Maybe they can show up against the team dead last in the league on Friday. But since it’s a matinee I don’t have my hopes up.

Sigh. A couple of observations:
– Bob needs a rest. He hasn’t been right since the collision with Schmidt and it’s showing in the worst of ways right now. The next three games are a bit easier so let Tarasov take the reins for a bit so Bob can rest and get healed up somewhat.
– Power play needs to figure out their breakouts and zone entries. We waste so much time cycling the puck in our own end just breaking out on the power play and then when we do, we either can’t gain the zone, or don’t establish possession when we do enter the zone. You watch the better power plays in this league and you’ll notice that their biggest goal is to gain the zone and establish possession quick. There’s no excess passing on the breakout, and there’s no trying to stickhandle through all 4 penalty killers and coughing the puck up. They gain the zone and chip it off to the F2 streaking along side of them to establish possession and set up. This team needs to do the same.
– Have to bury chances. Have to. We had several looks that should have been put in the back of the net and if we convert half of those, we win this game comfortably. If you don’t bury chances, shit like this will happen. I get injuries play a factor, but there are still enough elite shooters still on the roster that should be able to convert.
This was a winnable game that we let slip away. Hell, just failing to get a point out of this one really makes this one hurt. Fortunately, the next three games are against teams that are struggling right now so we have a solid chance to at least pick up three wins. But in a tight race in the East, every point we leave on the table can come back to haunt us.
Hopefully we get Chucky back soon. It’ll be good to have his presence back out there on the ice.
