NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks | November 27, 2025 | NBA Today NBA 2K26 Gameplay

In today’s NBA gameplay, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers prepare for an exciting clash with Anthony Davis and the slumping Dallas Mavericks. Los Angeles sits fourth in the West, while Dallas has slipped to 13th. Will the Lakers coast to a comfortable win, or can the Mavericks deliver a surprising upset? Watch the full video to see how it all unfolds? Oh yeah, this should be a battle on the baseline. Great to watch skilled bigs trade blows and show off what they can do down low. Looking at the starting five for the Dallas Mavericks. They’ve got Thompson. Daniel Gaffford is out there with Davis. Then it’s D’Angelo Russell. Now here’s Hachimura. Shoots over Thompson. And the basket by Achimura. Well, the finishing ability of Ruie Hachimura on display. This guy has a knack for getting around defenders and into his groove. Here’s Russell. Rebound by the Lakers. Here’s James. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. Well, Grant, even though it looks like LeBron could play forever, he stated that he doesn’t have much time left. Well, it’s unbelievable that he sustained this level of excellence for as long as he has. I would be surprised if we see this type of longevity ever again. And he can’t get the first one. You know, Grant, after losing in the first round last season, it felt like changes were inevitable for the Lakers. Yeah, making the playoffs isn’t enough for that franchise. They are all about championship success, and anything short of that is a failure. Good on the second one, Doris. One place you see this Dallas team show up is in the hustle stands. NBA. This version of the Dallas Mavericks is as tough and as pretty and as willing to compete as any I’ve seen. To the inside. Here’s Gaffford and the dunk by Gaffford. And that’s a perfect pass by Russell. He really understands where to get his man the ball. And Donic has got the ball here for the Los Angeles Lakers. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. I did briefly speak with JJ Reic and the point of emphasis of the game plan against Anthony Davis was to simply be more physical inside. Coach said, “We have to force him outside the paint and make him shoot those mid to long range shots.” Sounds like they’re willing to give up the outside shot to keep Davis from dominating the paint. And Ally, thanks. Here’s Thompson following the score by Los Angeles. And there’s Russell on the assist by Thompson. You have the sense that D’Angelo Russell likes to play through contact. This is a toughminded player. Gafford against Aiden. Pass to Reeves. Here’s Donic. Another shot. And that’s two points on the layup. Boy, no fear from Luca Donic. When he’s near the hoop, he will challenge anyone. Aimura covering now. Davis. Gafford with a screen on James. Davis the pass to Gaffford and the shot goes. Well known for being a terrific passer. He shows you right there. Case in point. The Lakers have gone three of four. Off to a nice start. Reeves against Thompson. Aiden with a screen. Donic finds James. Clock at six. Russell against Donic. Up and over Russell. And again, Luca Donic. Donic has gotten his third basket of the night. Well, Luca not forcing his way inside, just taking that mid-range shot because that’s what the defense offered up to him. And we’ve got a timeout from Jason Kidd. He wants a few moments to regroup with his players. Now, if you’re just tuning in, we’ve played about 2 and 1/2 minutes here in the first. Pass to Thompson from outside the ark. Can’t get his first shot of the game to fall. And this is exactly who you want taking that shot. He just missed it. Reeves with the ball. Aton. A screen on Thompson from deep. Reeves can’t get it to go. Missed his first one. Ooh, that’s a tough break. After poor communication defensively, it leaves him all by himself. Davis, the pass to Thompson. The three from Russell. Yes. And a nice assist from Thompson. Russell’s got five. Now in catch and shoot situations, you’ve got to be balanced and in control. Mr. Russell, well done. outside Reeves and first quarter. We’re about three and a half minutes in to Aimura releases and it’s Donic missing. That’s the shot they wanted. It just didn’t fall. I think expect them to go back to it because that’s the kind of shot this offense is designed to generate. The three from Thompson and the Mavericks another three. Well, this is his prototypical shot. Klay Thompson from three. Lakers trail by three. Machimura outside. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Daniel Gaffford picks one up. This is his first opportunity at the line this evening. At the line for two more. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That one’s off. Rui Hachimura, a guy who’s willing to slot into whatever position the team needs him and works hard to help out on every single play. You love the hustle and the attitude. And the Mavericks making a change here. Lively’s checked in and he sinks the second. Dallas has gone two for three from outside the arc. Thompson passes to Russell. The three. Yes. And a nice assist from Thompson. Thompson’s got three assists now in this one. That’s a nuanced understanding of pick and roll play. D’Angelo Russell. Nicely done. And Donic has got the ball here for Los Angeles. trailing by five down low and Davis with the block and he loss it up top and Aiden pulls it down and the idea was good but the execution severely lacking. Just a missed connection and it happens. I’m sure they will go back to it if given the opportunity. Aiden with a screen from deep. Here’s Donic and that bucket makes him four for seven today. Good production. Boy, the deep ball from Luca Donic. This guy does not lack for confidence. And we’ve got a timeout from Jason Kid. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. Now is your heart. Get loud and let them Marshall. He’s checked in for Dallas Marshall. And so it’s Dallas with it. Woo! Ba! That’s lit. Ferocious all the way, man. That was good. Lakers trail by four. Reeves. The pass to James. Now Donic guarded by Russell. Donic feeling it out a bit. Five to shoot. From deep again. Donic missing. We all know he’s a good shooter, but from that distance, h I don’t think so. Boy, we’re seeing it more and more guys looking to create additional space by stepping back further from the line. And you like the balance here, not just falling in love with the three ball. Here’s Donic. He’s got nine. Played it in with a nice touch off the window. Donic has got 11. Yeah, Donic is used to and accustomed to all this contact. In fact, you get the sense he loves and relishes this kind of play. The Mavericks lead by four. Pass to Marshall. Outside Davis. Here’s Marshall. Now here’s Russell. There’s the triple. Gets the three to fall. He’s got 11. a volume three-point shooter. The coaching staff encourages Russell to fire away. Los Angeles has gone one for three from beyond the arc. Outside Reeves and here’s Hachimura and it’s out of bounds. They say it was last touch by Hachimura. Part of passing the rock is calculating risk and reward. I don’t think that was a great decision. Smarts checked in for the Lakers. Dallas has gone four of five from distance here in the first quarter. Here’s Marshall outside. Russell fires for three. Counted from distance. Their ability to space the floor has been the story of this game. And what surprises me is the defense hasn’t done anything to take away that three-point shot. That has been their preferred weapon tonight. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally Leforce. Hey, Brian. Anthony Davis is letting it fly. He said, “The way that teams are playing me, I’ve been getting back to the mid-range. It’s an easier shot instead of fighting the double team. So, that’s all it is. Continuing to trust it and shoot it.” Ryan, we’ve seen that jumper be a real weapon for him. Yeah, that’s a good call, Ally. Thanks. So, it’s the Mavericks now following the score by Los Angeles. The three from Russell with a rebound. Lakers trail by eight. They set the pick. Pass to James. Here’s Aiden and out of bounds. The Mavericks will take it. Some changes for Los Angeles. Hayes is checked in for DeAndre Aiden. James comes in for Aim Mura and Vincent is subbed in for Reeves. And Dallas also making a switch. Washington’s checked in for Anthony Davis. Now here’s Russell. 14 points for him. Out left to the wing to the middle. Here’s Lively and a slam dunk by Lively. And early on they’ve been on a tear just getting whatever they want offensively. Well, what I love is the game plan has been solid from the opening tip and guys are making their shots. That’s critical. Here’s Smart after the basket by Dallas for three. James that’s in coming off an assist from Smart. Marcus Smart dishing it well in that instance. We know he is a special defensive player, but how about that pass Russell against Smart. It’s stolen by Smart and the twohanded jam. Adding insult to injury with the dunk off the steel. Nice to see a good play on D. That led to some fireworks. Let’s see if that serves as a momentum builder. What a great sequence for this group. And so it’s Dallas with it after the Lakers picking up a basket just moments ago and the duck to finish it off. A beauty. And this kind of sick slam is just one of the reasons this team is in charge of this game right now. NBA. You know, there’s an edge the way they played and a confidence they’re not afraid to show. Lakers trail by seven. James outside. Pass to James to the paint. Here’s Hayes and finished off by Hayes. Oh yeah, that’ll do it. Wow. An emphatic two-handed slam. A minute four left to play in the first quarter. Here’s Russell. Fires the three. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Well, the defense clearly was not interested in guarding him from downtown. They’re very fortunate he missed. Benson passes to James. Mavericks with a rebound. If you try something like that, you better be sure to complete it. And a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. That’s his first. These are his first free throws of the game. Shooting for Dallas. Ali Marshall at the line for two. And the first one at the line is good. Larabi is checked in for the Lakers. Luca Donic comes in for Vincent. Klay Thompson, he’s checked in for Dallas. Christy comes in for Russell. He’s perfect from the line this time. Here’s Smart. Shot clock and game clock separated by less than 6 seconds. Pass to Hayes. Back to Smart. Now Donic. Here’s the Ravia. Shot clock at six for three. James buries it from three. James has got six and both teams already firing on all cylinders. Yeah, this is already a highscoring game, but we knew that was a possibility coming in. And a closer look here at the scoring breakdown for Dallas. Well, they found a groove and it’s from distance, so knocking them down from the three-point land never hurts. The other thing they’re doing is making plays off the bounce. And boy, once they get a step, they’re getting all the way. The Mavericks lead by four. We’ve got Marcus Smart. He’s out there with Luca Donuch. Jackson Hayes is out there with James. And it’s Larabia and at the power forward position. That’s the Laker five. And a slam dunk by Lively. Nice one-handed jam. Simple and effective. Ba. Hey, with the lead. I’m surprised he didn’t come up with something a little more creative. And here’s Donic. He’ll bring it up for the Lakers. Pass to James. Inside. Here’s Hayes. And finished off by Hayes. His time on the rim. Puts a sweet cherry on top. Ba. It’s a close game and those displays of explosiveness can jumpst start a team. Dallas has gotten five of their nine attempts from deep to go. And here is Thompson guarded by Donic. Thompson no good. Well, the defense flat out awful right there and he couldn’t punish them for their mistake. Smart outside. Here’s Donic. Luca proving he can score from anywhere. All right, Doris. What do you think separates the good teams from the great teams in crunch time? Boy, I think there’s a lot of things, Brian, that separate that. Number one, can you execute on both ends when it’s a clutch game? Can you absorb the pressure of a moment? understanding time and score, how to get a quality shot on every possession, how to string together multiple stops, can you make shots under the rest of great defense. There are so many things that differentiate between the good and the championship. Clock at two. Lively shot is off. The Lakers trail pass to Donic. Now here’s Hayes. Now Smart that misses. Had a chance to tie it. Well, defensively if you allow him to get this close, you’re playing with fire. He just happened to miss that one. Back to Washington down low. Here’s Marshall. Perfect night so far. Two for two. They’re punishing those late defensive rotations. getting good looks inside throughout the half. So, it’s Los Angeles now. Four-point game. Donic outside. Three-pointer off the mark. The Mavericks have gone two of four here in the second quarter. Here’s Christie defended by Smart. Oh, and Clay makes that three. He looked so easy. Well, the ability to rise and fire off the catch has defined Klay Thompson and we’re just over two and a half minutes into the second. Smart outside. Hayes with a screen on Thompson and Dantic launches from deep and again the Lakers no good. The Mavericks lead by seven. The shot again. The Mavericks good for two more. Are you serious? What a sweet move. Broke his ankles on that one. Los Angeles has gotten three of their seven threes to find the net in this matchup. Pass to Donic. Hayes with a screen on Thompson from deep. Here’s Donic. Christie with a rebound. No idea why he’s attempting so many outside shots. It’s not his day and he needs to either look to drive or get it to an open teammate and breaking out the one hand slam. Man, an emphatic way to extend the lead a little more. Los Angeles has gone 0 for three from deep to begin the second. James outside. to stop the run. Oh, he nails that one. Three for four now. This guy can do so much for you on the offensive end. And that is why his number gets called time and time again. And so Jason Kidd calls for the timeout. He’s going to talk it over with his guys. I don’t think this timeout is just to give the guys a breather. Coach is looking to switch things up. And as you know, it’s what comes after that gives you some sense of what has changed. And the Lakers with some changes. Eightton comes in for Larabia and Austin Reeves is subbed in for Smart. Pass to Marshall. Here’s Christie guarded by Donic. Christie passes to Marshall. Using his post moves to get the two points. Marshall’s got four points this quarter. And the defense has no one to blame but themselves. I mean, they just let him get right to the rim. To me, this has simply stated been a complete lack of defensive attention and focus all night long. To the middle. Here’s Reeves. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. Hey, if you can’t block it, sending him to the line can be the next best thing. Los Angeles shooting their fifth and six free throws of the game. Austin Reed taking two shots. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first free throw is good. Some changes for Los Angeles. James has checked in for Hayes and Achimura is subbed in for James. And so Reeves nails both of them. You can tell when he steps to the line the kind of confidence he has in himself. It’s written all over his body language. Caffford with a screen on Aimura. Marshall with the bucket. Marshall’s got 10. As of this moment, they look absolutely unstoppable. Boy, it looks like their confidence is at an all-time high. Just feeding off each other right now. Lakers trail by 10. Outside Reeves. Pass to James. Aimura outside. Clock at four. A shot from the mid-range and off the front iron and in it goes. Hachimura’s gotten his second bucket. Such a very consistent in between shooter. The defense can’t afford to let Hachimura get separation. Davis a screen. And he’s going for the oop here. That one doesn’t drop. And the idea was good, but the execution severely lacking. Just a missed connection. And it happens. I’m sure they will go back to it if given the opportunity. And here’s Donic outside. The Luca three. Money. This guy is an absolute machine. I mean, Luca Donuch keeping his foot on the gas and giving the defense everything they could handle. Doris, you talk about a guy who forces you to play at his pace. That’s Luca Donuch. Oh my goodness, BA. There’s no question. He’s got tremendous patience. He’s in complete command of the tempo of the game. But maybe my favorite aspect is how he manipulates the game to get defenders off balance. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for Los Angeles. They trail by seven. Outside Reeves to the paint. Oh, poked away. Stolen by Gafford. Davis against James Christie. No stopping him there. Jams it in and he’s fouled. An opportunity in a three-point play. It’s on LeBron James. Dallas shooting their third free throw shot of the game. Smarts checked in for Luca Donuchi. at the line for one. Despite entering his 30s, Anthony Davis is not slowing down. Grant. Yeah, BA. And last year, AD put up the best rebounding numbers of his career and his shooting percentage also very high. Just watching him, Davis is still an allNBA caliber player capable of taking over on both ends. This is the kind of damage DeAndre Aton can do if he gets the right positioning. Nicely done. The Mavericks lead by eight. Pass to Christie. And the three off target. Los Angeles has gone two of five from distance here in the second quarter. Aimura with a screen on Davis. Here’s James. Physical play by LeBron inside. Yeah, the defense has got to push LeBron James out of position. If he’s on the interior, guys, it’s over. Reeves against Thompson, takes a three, and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got four rebounds in the game. All right, let’s check in with Alli Le Force. Hey, Brian. The Mavericks are looking to contend. Coach Jason Kid said, “We’re trying to build a championship team, and it’s not easy. Dallas has not talked about that for a long time.” So to talk about that, it’s pretty cool. to be able to build it takes time. We have the personnel. We have the team. Brian, that’s confidence. Yep. And they’re in win now mode. Ally, thank you. He’s off on the first and Dallas making a change here. Russell has checked in. And he’s good on the second. Lakers trail by seven. Smart outside. Stolen by Russell. And up the court they come. The Mavericks on the break. Pass to Davis. Thompson outside. Gafford against James. Back to Thompson. Outside Davis. Five on the clock. Russell with a ball. Smart grabs a miss. He’s going to hear from his teammates after that one. Not quite sure what happened. On the wing. Reeves pass to Aimura. And here’s Smart. Now here’s Aiden. He’s guarded by Gaffford. 17 ft shot on the way. Aiden no good. Dallas leading by seven. 156 left in the first half. Davis, the pass to Gaffford. The three from Russell. He’s got it. Six of 10 now. When D’Angelo Russell has that offensive game working, you just want to play through him. And here’s Smart outside. Greavves. Smart. A screen on Thompson. Back to Smart. And once again, off the mark by Los Angeles. Dallas has gone seven of 13 from downtown so far in this game. Again, Russell missing. Lakers trail by 10. Hachimura outside. The shots good on the assist by James. Hachimura’s got seven points in the game. Well, you see the level of effectiveness Rui Hachimura has on the interior. This guy, even with good defense, can score the basketball. Takes the three and Dallas hits again from deep. Got to fight harder to get over those screens. You know, we see this all the time. You’re basically as a defender hoping the man misses rather than putting in the work to get over screens. Smart finds James. Back to Smart. Aimura with the ball. Russell covering. Six on the shot clock. Smart passes to Achimura. The Mavericks pull it in. Clean look from mid-range. Coach will probably want to run that play again. Outside Russell. 6 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Gaffford the screen. Easy money for Davis inside. Yeah, when Davis gets that kind of positioning inside, he is pretty much automatic. Thompson against Reeves. Pass to James and the three-pointer goes. Give him eight points now. And so it’s Dallas ending the quarter up 10. And it’s mostly due to their superb shooting. They’ve wasted very few possessions. First half, plenty of basketball left in this one. You know, D’Angelo Russell has been exceptional here, guys. I’ll tell you what, he’s still working on his playmaking skills, but he’s been tremendous so far in finding the open man. Well, what he did was sustain it throughout the first half. He ran the offense to absolute perfection. So, the Mavericks five right now. They’ve got Daniel Gaffford. D’Angelo Russell is out there with Klay Thompson. Then it’s Anthony Davis. And so James will bring it up for the Lakers. It’s a 10-point game. Donic outside. Aiden with a screen. Donic passes to Aiden. And Aiden with the stuff. Well, DeAndre Eaton, incredible size, incredible athleticism, and refuses to go down easy. And this is his first trip to the line tonight. Personal foul. First team foul at the line for Los Angeles. DeAndre A. One shot. One shot. One shot. I think what you like most about DeAndre Aton is probably how efficient he is on the offensive end. Now obviously the next step he’s got to raise his game and defensive intensity on that end of the floor. Pass to Davis. Gather against Aiden. Six to shoot. Here’s Davis. Davis getting it done under duress. And I’ll tell you what, if you’re going to mix it up with Davis, you better be on your game. He’s so powerful inside. Reeves with the ball. And for those tuning in, and we’re about a minute into this second half, here’s Donic. And the Lakers tack on two more. And his fantastic performance from the last game has carried over to tonight. No, I think that’s the one thing every player is searching for, consistency. They’re giving this guy a chance to carry the offense once again. Thompson no good. Lakers trail by seven. James outside shoots over Davis and there’s James on the assist by Donic. James has got 10 points in the game. Hey, you see the attention Luca draws. That’s why his teammates get so many wide open looks. Davis finds Gaffford. Russell with the ball. Guarded by Donic. The shot by Russell. No good. Los Angeles has got six of 11 threes to go in this game. Stolen by Davis. They set a pick. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Aiden’s got his fifth rebound in this one to the inside. Out to Aimura. Pass to Reeves. James outside. Russell against Reeves. And here’s Donic outside. They get it back. Machimura left side. No good with the triple. Dallas leading by five. A touch over 2 and 1/2 minutes of basketball played here in the third quarter. Los Angeles has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third. Aton a screen on Russell down low. Oh, and the jam by Aton. Well, Luca Donuch has an innate sense for when his teammates are open. And boy, does he deliver it for Dallas. They’ve gotten only one of four shots to fall in this second half. And so Jason Kidd calls for the timeout. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments. They’re looking to do something to stop this run. They have to get back on track. Really needs to settle his guys down right now and get them refocused. left side Russell. Oh, it’s stolen by Donic from about 16 and he knocks the jumper down and it’s now only a one-point Dallas lead. This is anyone’s game now and they have the momentum. Probably the most important thing is they regroup. They worked out some of their frustrations and now they’re starting to have some fun and he gets that one. I’ll tell you, it’s hard to shake his concentration when D’Angelo Russell is this close to the cup. How about that tough shot outside Reeves Russell against Donic. Shot clock at six. Oh, he missed the chippy right there. Dallas leading by three. Russell a pass to Thompson. He can’t get it to go. Good work defensively by James. crosses over. LeBron, a smooth operator inside. I tell you, that’s a nice job by LeBron to keep that ball safe and secure on his way to the cup. Thompson passes to Davis. Aimura covering. Pass to Gaffford. Oh, rejected by Aton. Outstanding shot blocker. DeAndre Aton off his feet in a hurry to send it back. Donic against Russell. Donic is double. Thompson with a steal. The three. He buries it from three. Thompson’s got 11 points. And taking a quick look here at the hustle stats for the Mavericks. You have to be a fan of the energy they played with on the defensive end. Active hands and feet and it’s come up big a few times for them. And you also have to love the way they’ve gotten out and run in transition. A ton of good chances tonight simply from being willing to run the floor. Oh, at the last possible moment, he changed his out of the shot and finds the open man. Perfect decision. And so it’s Russell who brings up the ball for the Dallas Mavericks. 13 points was their biggest lead of the game. Oh, there’s the alley and the dunk by Gaffford. Well, what he lacks in size for a typical center, he makes up for with all that athleticism. Boy, can he elevate. Lakers trail by three. James outside shoots over Davis and there’s James on the assist from Donic. Donic has got four assists in the game. Now Russell, he’s got 19. Pass to Gaffford. Back to Russell. And here’s Thompson for three. Aimura with a rebound for Los Angeles. They’ve gone eight of 12 from the floor in the third quarter. Now Donic with the lead. Gafford grabs the miss. Thompson against Reeves. Thompson scanning the floor, launches it, sinks it from distance. He’s got 11. Well, Klay Thompson understanding how to read the floor and make the right choice. Yes, he can score it, but good vision there. Donic passes to Reed. Back to Donic. Russell with the rebound. Russell’s got four rebounds now. goes up on the baselines and it’s Dallas scoring again. With all the attention AD draws, if Davis moves the ball, good things will happen. Lakers trail by six. Here’s Donic. Give him 20. Aimura launches a three. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Donic has got five assists in the game. Well, the team has preached to Rui Hatchimore to be aggressive on the offensive end. That is the decisive decision making they’re looking for. Pass to Gaffford. Outside Russell. Gaffford with a screen on Donic. Back to Gafford. And the dunk by Gaffford. Pretty dime there. The kind of ball movement coaches love to see. Here’s Donic. And we got a timeout called by JJ Reic. We might see him looking to make some tweaks to the strategy here. It’s time for And the Lakers will go for a different look here. Hayes has checked in for Aton. James comes in for Achimura. Vincent’s checked in for Reeves. And Smart subbed in for Luca Donic. And the Mavericks will go for a different look here. Lively, he’s checked in for Gaffford. Washington comes in for Davis. Exums checked in for Klay Thompson. And it’s Marshall in for Russell. Get up. On defense, the Mavericks leading by five. Smart finds James. Hayes with a screen. Shoots it from the high post and that one’s good. James. James has got 11 points. Defensively, you can’t afford to get stuck on the pick. You know exactly what that takes. It takes energy. It takes activity. It takes intensity. Washington passes to Lively. And there’s a minute 45 left in the third quarter. That one no good. Pass to Hayes to the paint. That’s tipped. James against Washington. Six on the shot clock. lets it go from 14. It’s rebounded by Dallas. 13 points was their biggest lead of the game to the middle. Pass to Exom. There’s a screen and there’s the lob. Well, Exom size and speed make him a tough cover and especially in these pick and rolls as a passer. One minute left in the third quarter. Smart outside going all the way to the rack. Here’s Marshall. Flushes it down to finish the break. When you get a chance to run the floor like that, you have to capitalize. Great hustle on that play. There’s 49 seconds left to play in the third. James passes to James. Here’s Venson. Lets it go from deep. Rebounded by Marshall. Boom. He jabs it straight down. Can you say immediate entry into the highlight reel? Woo! What a dunk, Ba. It’s showtime now, man. They’ve built up a lead and they’re starting to rub it in. Now, here’s Smart. About 3 seconds between the shot clock and the game clock. James outside. That’s good. And it’s Smart with the assist. James has got 13 now. Outstanding pass on time and on target. Check by James. Just three on the clock. No good. And so it’s Dallas closing out this quarter with a seven. Lakers trail by seven. Marcus Smart out there with Luca Donic. Then there’s James. Then there’s Jackson Hayes. And it’s Larabia hit at the fourman spot. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. And that bucket from beyond the arc puts them within reach. He’s really been putting that shot to work. Yeah. And if he can stay hot from out there, his three-point shot could be the tool they use to win this game. And he lobbs it up to the rim. It’s stolen by Smart and he dunks it down. Well, you have to admire how Smart is running this offense right now. He has a knack for spotting open teammates. Here’s Marshall. Out to the wing. The three from Washington sends it home from three-point land. And that’s a clutch shot by a big time shooter. And where’s the D? Fourth quarter of basketball. We’re about a minute into it. Fades back and the Lakers tack on two more. Look at Donic. His offensive game just so pure, folks. Pass to Lively. Here’s Marshall. Back to Lively. And a slam dunk by Lively. And adds a few more points to their lead. Showing off some style. Wow, that was prime time stuff right there. Lakers trail by five. Final quarter of play. About a minute and a half off the clock. Now here’s Dantic. He’s guarded by Exum. Smart passes to Hayes. It’s good. And you can feel the temperature rising in this arena. Both teams pouring it on offensively. There’s been a bit of a flurry here late and this game may come down to which side gets a stop or two. Inside here’s Lively and a slam dunk by Lively. Well, that possession to me highlights the importance of creating for your teammates. And so Smart will bring it up for Los Angeles. Trailing by five. Donic on the wing. Soft touch off the glass. Donic has got 24 points. Well, the tight handle allows Luca Donuch to make the pretty move off the bounce. Here’s Marshall. Check by James. Marshall passes to Lively and fouled as he went up to dunk. Good aggressive move. He’ll shoot a pair. Yeah, a strong move to the rack. draws that foul at the line for Albertly. The free throw jumps for Lively. And the Lakers making a change here. Reeves has checked in and Dallas with a change here too. Davis. He’s checked in for Washington. Both shots good from the strike. Just over two and a half minutes played now. Final quarter of regulation. Pass to Larabia. Here’s Christie. Dunks it hard with one hand. Wow. He makes it look easy. Well, Dante Exom doing a little bit of everything right now. Pretty pass. Here’s James the three ball. And yes, it’s good. He’s seven for eight now. Yeah, he’s in his bag from beyond the arc right now. You see his confidence and I think the defender knows once he gets cooking, look out. The bucket looks awfully big to him right now. Davis, the pass to Christie. Now Exom, he’s covered by Reeves. Three on three and it’s Donic missing. Dallas leading by four over three and a half minutes through the final quarter now. Marshall with the bucket. Marshall. Los Angeles has gone two of two from outside so far in the fourth. From deep. Here’s Donic. Davis for the rebound. And he almost made them regret defending him so loosely. Pass to Marshall. Throws it up high and stolen by Hayes. James with the ball. Then slam dunk by James. Got to give him credit for jumping on the ball and making the most at the other end. Boy, inexcusable at this point of the game. They got to be more composed in these moments. Boy, in a tight game like this, that can change the whole tone. It helps your opponent get into a little bit of a rhythm. And stolen by Reeves. Pass break. Here come the Lakers. Rips down the breakaway slam. And that’s what happens when you don’t take care of the ball. Hey, that makes the turnover hurt even more. At the end of the day though, it’s two points. Don’t hang your heads. Let’s get refocused and play with more patience. Here’s Marshall. Lively with a screen on James. Here’s Marshall. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Hayes has got four rebounds in the game. Livia passes to Reeves. Davis against James. Drains the triple. James has got 15 points here in the second half. And that was the right decision. When you’re in need of a bucket, you go to your most trusted guys. Well, you’ve got to earn trust and equity by making shots. Nice delivery there. Lively with a screen on James. Marshall passes to Lively. Pass to Davis. Three-pointer gets rebounded by Los Angeles. And they’re dialed in offensively. sure are staying in attack mode and at the same time playing under control. Here’s Donic. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. It’s going to be on Anthony Davis. You can see Luca Donuch has the body, the handle, the footwork, and the savvy to draw fouls. That is nicely done. Taking two shots. Then he drops the first. What you love about Luca Donic is he’s this unique combination of size and skill. He could really play cross positionally. He makes shots at all three levels so dangerous. That one falls. So he hits both of them. Mavericks trail by three. Thompson finds Davis. got a piece of it. Gaffford passes to Russell. They need this rebound. The Lakers. Aiden’s got rebound number eight now. Back to James. Right side. Reeves. Stolen by Thompson. And now the Mavs on the run. Shot from the wing and he wills that one in. Sinking it right through the back of the iron. He’s got 19. And when they need it most, they show us some clutch play on both ends of the floor. The Lakers with the ball. It’s a one-point game. Russell against Donic. Fires from deep. The shot no good. And so Thompson will bring it up for the Dallas Mavericks to the middle. Here’s Davis. Rebounded by LeBron. James has got six rebounds here tonight. To the paint. Thompson with a steal. And up the court they come. The Mavericks on the break. And Davis slams it home. What an emphatic bucket by Davis. This is a guy who never backs down or gives up. Los Angeles has gone three for five from three-point land since the end of the third quarter. Here’s James. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. Daniel Gaffford picks one up. Second team foul at the line for the Lakers. LeBron James. Two shots. That free throw good from James. What’s remarkable about LeBron is the complete command of the game. Not only his team, but you’ll hear opponents joke about how well he knows their plays. on the miss. Both free throws good from James. And so Jason Kidd calls for the timeout. No doubt he’s going to utilize the opportunity to make sure they’re all on the same page here. And let’s swing it over to the sideline. And here from Ally. Hey guys, I was able to catch the message that Jason Kidd was giving to his team. He tried to loosen the tension a little asking his guys, “Are we having fun?” I know I am. Just relax out there and follow the game plan. We’ve got this as always, Ally. We thank you. The Mavericks trailing. And here’s Davis. Pass to Thompson from deep and Aiden pulls it down. Just enough of a shot contest to bother him. And that one goes in as he’s fouled. It’ll be three points if he converts the free throw. All right, guys. Let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. Well, picking all the lowhanging fruit. defenses these days want to concede the mid-range and they’re happy to take it. Boy, the long ball has been another point of emphasis for this group tonight. Their shooters are finding open spaces and firing without hesitation. Mavericks trail by four outside Davis. Pass to Russell beyond the ark. Eight makes out of 15 shots. He’s got it going in huge moment. D’Angelo Russell comes through big time. Reeves against Thompson. Donic on the wing. Stolen by Russell. And a fast break now. The Mavericks on the run. Yeah, that one’s good. Russell’s got 24 points. Well, the quickness of D’Angelo Russell in transition really puts pressure on the defense. 157 left to play in the fourth. Here’s Donic and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. And that hurts as he doesn’t get the first one to fall. Trying to focus now for the second. have a second and two is good and that ties this game up. Well, the missed free throw there keeping this game at even. We’ll see if that comes back to haunt them. Watch him recovering. Slam home and they call a foul. He’s headed to the strike for one more. And a solid kick to free him up for the dunk. Boy, the timing there couldn’t be any better. But the execution was simply flawless. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you run that play. You get the sense this guy relishes getting to the free throw line in these tough moments. You talk about clutch, this guy is it. And he’s going for the lob. And Eaton with the stuff. Deandre Aton with a big time shot. Caught head, young sir. Dallas has got two of five threes to go here in the fourth and he drives in that shot off the marker with the defensive effort. Here’s James. Oh, LeBron bursting through. King James with ice water in his veins. An absolutely breathtaking player. Russell with the ball. Machima recovering. A minute six left to play in the fourth. Just five to shoot. Here’s Russell. It falls. Talk about stepping up in a big way. I’ll tell you, it takes confidence to pull the trigger in that situation. You love guys. the moment. And so JJ Reic calls for the timeout. The pressure is on and he’s got a plan to share with his guys. There’s 53 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Payton, a screen on Thompson. Here’s Donic. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the active shooting. That one on Russell. The understated part of Luca Donic’s game, his strength. He is going to draw contact and usually make it. He sinks the clutch free throw. He’s off on the free throw. Unable to get the second one to drop the three from Thompson. Oh, gets the three to fall. Well, big time moment means big time guy. And Clay Thompson delivers yet again. There’s 38 seconds left in the game. And Donic puts up a deep three. Tried to answer back, but that three is off the mark. Expect them to take their time this trip down. The NBA, the clock is theirs to burn. No one covering. Timeout. Time out. Now it’s a six-point Maverick lead. They have a relentless mentality. Even with the game in total control, this is a textbook example of playing the possession and not the score. This team is doing a great job continuing to execute. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. They’re down by six. Let’s hear from our analyst. Give us your take on the strategy being discussed right now. They need to answer fast. Well, preferably a three, right? If there’s a clean look, take it. 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. Donic on the wing. Cash and now they trail by just four. Now the very definition of unselfish. LeBron could score every time, but you see his affinity for getting his teammates involved and so they foul intentionally. And a smart choice right there. I mean, you can’t allow them to just drain the clock. Mavericks. Oh, he doesn’t hit the first. That was the one they really wanted. He’s got one more though. That’s good. Going one of two from the line. And that puts him up five. 11 seconds left in the fourth quarter. James outside. The three is up. Oh, nails the triple. And we’ve got a timeout from Jason Kid. There is a lot on the line and he is determined to make sure everyone’s on the same page. Here’s Russell. And an intentional foul there stops the clock. Heat. Heat. And he cannot get the first one to drop. Tough one to miss. And he ends up making the second and that makes it a three-point lead. And there’s only one option. They need a triple. You’ve got to keep your composure and execute to get a quality look from three. And so it’s the Mavericks who come. Thanks, Ally. Great interview once again. Thank you very much. And that about wraps it up.
