After all, why shouldn’t Americans be forced to watch these ass teams?

  1. Packers couldn’t even beat Dallas so 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  2. I know this, cause the original Lions owner also owned some radio stations and saw an opportunity to promote his team in the 1930s and the cowboys because they volunteered to be the 2nd game in the late 1960s and the NFL saw the ratings they brought in

  3. There was a time when teams and their owners didn’t actually want to play on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys and Lions were the only 2 teams that volunteered so they kept being tasked with playing on Thanksgiving, these creating a tradition.

Very different from teams like the Jets and Chiefs volunteering to be a Black Friday tradition when most teams nowadays would sign up for that.

  4. We’ve been playing on thanksgiving for over 90 years. There’d be riots in Detroit if we stopped

  5. I think it was their idea actually lol. Maybe I’m wrong but I remember watching an NFL throwback video about it

  6. My wife in the middle of prepping this week: “Fucking patriarchy putting football games on Thanksgiving so that men disappear for all the hard work”

Me: yes, and this year they have some pretty good games
