We all may not agree with playing small, but in this game, one thing I noticed every time we went small, I don’t know who Memphis coach is, but when we went small, he took Zack Edy off the floor. So, play small. Zack Edy is who winning in Zack Edy making the difference. So, whatever keep him off the floor, do that. We if if playing small, keep him off the floor. Keep playing small. Yeah. Because it it it shows me that if it’s one of those nights where he make his first two three-point attempts, he going to keep shooting threes instead of going to the rim. Like if he would have made his first two threes tonight, I don’t think this game would have been close as it was because by him missing those first couple threes, it forced him to drive to the rim. And that’s what made the difference. Stop trying to shoot threes. That’s not your game yet. I’m not saying he can’t develop it, but that’s not your game yet. All right. I feel like Mei Mi had a solid game but Queen had Queen had it going like in the fourth and you know putting Zion back in late everything’s rolling through him and having Mi and Zion on the floor not using him in action it just clogs everything up makes it incredibly tough. I I I don’t know, bro. I I I really don’t know, bro. I There’s a lot of people I would have seen on the floor, and I keep trying to think what lineup I would have wanted out there. And to be honest, I can’t tell you. And that’s the with the injuries right now. That’s the biggest takeaway that I have, bro. To be honest, JB is doing a good job in my opinion of just playing who he can, right? Like it’s like, if you got it going, I’mma let you run. But at the end of the day, you kind of got to go with your star. But how do you how do you manage the star when like example like Mei got it going, right? Like not had it going, but like defensively you needed him out there, but then offensively Derek Queen had it going, but then Bryce was giving like it’s just I think it’s just a tough situation for him to be in right now. And like at the end of the game, this particular team cannot rely on the ISO ball. And that’s what they keep going to. They keep going to the ISO ball because that’s what it is that they that they know. And that’s the one the thing that keeps getting them in trouble until they could rectify that. you gonna keep having an issue especially with the lack of talent because with pool out and Herb out and you know now you starting L Carlo being out you know our limitations are really starting to show. So yeah, I just think come four quarters we won’t be able to sustain when teams, you know, they doing a better job at it at least like the game is competitive. We we don’t completely let go of the rope. But until we can figure out the lineups and I’m interested to see when P comes back what he does and like what happens with Herb. But man, it’s just it’s just a tough situation right now, bro. Tough tough situation. But yeah, to last thing and I I let you go, but uh at least we ain’t getting blown out, right? Is that the lineup that you would have went with if that was the lineup you were you were thinking about closing with? Uh, nah. Um, I understand having Mi in there, you know, for defensive purposes, but just like when you’re in a situation when you need a bucket, I would have had clean up in there. I would like to have Jose in there so you at least have some defense and you don’t have Herb right now. But I didn’t like the closing lineup with me, Jose, Z, Trey, and Sadi. I’d like to have another scoreer out there like Queen, you know. Yeah, Queen didn’t have the most points, but he had nine nine assists and he had it going in the fourth quarter. One don’t know one in fears only got one speed bro and the other one you know queen like he’s just super talented bro that it could do a little bit of everything bro he might look at he may not say it but he might he might look at Zion like I’m kind of better with the basketball than you bro in in the half court. I just th this loss is an ombrego in my opinion. I just don’t really understand why Queen was not on the floor in overtime. I don’t really understand that. What’s your thoughts on that? Yeah, I I so originally I thought that like before before the sub happened and the Grizzlies started to make a comeback, I was like, “All right, I would close. I would close with Mei.” And I wasn’t sure how they would how they would put how they would put together the other four necessarily, but you think about it, I mean, the simple you you you know, Zion was going to be out there. You know, Jose was going to close over over fears and Sadique and Trey were going to be there. So, I I don’t know if I was if I didn’t mind it because Mei was having a he was having a good game. He was impacting the he was impacting the game defensively, you know. Um but just I mean the offense went to [ __ ] bro. I mean, specifically in the in the half court having Mei in it looked like Willie Green it looked like Willie Green was coaching still for me in the corner and just Zion Ball. Um, and they they did generate a few open looks. Um, but I will say I think once they survived the fourth quarter and getting and gotten to overtime. That is where I’m with you. I would have brought in Queen because you saw you got to be able to see enough there like, okay, we’re not going to stop Edy or Memphis right now more than likely whether Mei or you know, Queen’s out there anyway. Queen had a couple good possessions on Edy, but we’re much better off by being a little bit more creative on the other side. And that’s that’s where you kind of lose me because the offense just was hope Zion get a bucket or create a look for somebody. Yeah, that was kind of my thing because like Mi had a great game like not taken away from him and he was impacting on both ends but like his energy is going to go so far you can’t really roll with him into creating and generating offense in overtime. We scored three [ __ ] points in overtime, man. Three three. And then you have Jose over dribbling every single possession. Again, great Jose game. But this is what I’m talking about, man. Like I think as a as a fan base, we’re just ready to move on. Like we’re just going to beat a dead horse every [ __ ] game until we move on from Zion. And I like love Zion, man. Love him as a player. Like, but he just hasn’t progressed. And it’s it’s time for a new era of Pelicans basketball. We need a breath of fresh air. Burggo is going to be a good development coach in my opinion to be honest with young guys. So, you trade Zion, get rid of Herb for sure because Pavey can do 90% of what Herb can do on a rookie contract. Don’t know why we give him that huge contract and we just roll with Queen and Fear is rebuild and do it the right way. But I also have concerns because I don’t think this front office is going to do it the right way. So, I’m really uncertain. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it, you know, the, you know, it’s tough, bro, because it’s parts of this game that were, you know, that was encouraging, right? Uh Peavey has some moments. Bryce McGawas has had some moments. And you know, I’m you know, I’m talking to uh to uh Mike Cyprien right now and he’s actually, you know, he believes Hawkins should have been on the floor because you need a space and you need a shooting. It’s just there’s similar to what to what uh D boy was saying. It’s like, you know, you have fears who wants everything right now. Like that’s that’s just who he is. And it’s gonna work some nights, it’s not gonna work some nights. and Queen man at 23 minutes an effortless nine assists. Effortless nine assists, you know, it just it just comes to him easy. Um who needs to be involved and need to have the basketball and you have someone, you know, like Zion who is as entertaining and fun as he is, he’s limited. And at some point, like you mentioned it, they’re going to have to pick. I mean, I don’t know if we’re there if we’re there yet, but you kind of seen 16, Chris. We’re three and 16, brother. It’s like Derek Queen make one mistake, he going to the bench for like a quarter and a half. But fears get to play like three and a half quarters. Like what? No. All right. Now, let me ask you. Do you feel like do you feel like Derek Queen if you were to draft Derek Queen this year, let’s say he stayed in college, do you think he would have been a top three player in this draft? No. No. I know just for the simple fact players in this draft is more athletic and I feel like they kind of value the athleticism more than the skill. Thanks and that’s the only reason. But is he just as good as those players? I think so. All right. Well, with that being said, because I mean even this draft, right, like you had players more athletic than him. He got drafted up with 13, but his ability, his skill is the reason why he got drafted. He never gonna be athletic. But overall, like gamewise, like take the athleticism out of it. Gamewise, do you think that he would be a top five, top three player in this draft coming up? I give him I give him like top eight. Top eight. Yeah, I give him about between six and eight. Somewhere up in that range. The only rationale that I got. And it’s only it’s only because of his athleticism. That’s the only thing. It’s like if Derrick Queen was doing the same things that he do now, but he also jumped out the gym, it’ll be it’ll be a different game. See, but you can’t just to think with the type of player he is, how cerebral he is, like you could look at his let’s say the blueprint of his position, right? Sabonis, Yogic, Son, none of them dudes jump out the gym. They all got a similar type of build and play style. So, it’s I’m gonna say this. I’m not co-signing the the the the trading of the pick because I’m with you. You should you you absolutely have to put protections on it. Only thing I can say is they looked at it. They got their guy and they basically was just kind of like I think he might be a top three, top five pick next year and we just gonna roll with it. Now, however we feel about it, we feel about it.
