It Actually Happened… Multiple Exciting Raptors Updates

It actually happened folks as there’s been a lot of speculation about the availability of Christian Koko over the past week and now we have confirmation from Shams Trannia that he can get scooped up by the Toronto Raptors whenever now at this point. So we’ll discuss that report including multiple exciting updates regarding the state of this team as well as some insights into the injuries that are going on out for the Wings of the Toronto Raptors. So, lots of very interesting storylines and one of the big ones we’re talking about today is of course the center position for the Toronto Raptors because the depth on this team has been something I’ve been pretty outspoken as a area that the Raptors need to improve on at the center position because you have a ton of talented players. Jaka Purle, Colin Murray Bole, Sandre Bomb, Killeshi, but only one of those guys is a true center, a true five, a true, you know, going to be able to bang it down low, be a seven-footer that gets boards as reliable in that area. And of course, as Yakapurle, and he’s had a fantastic season, do not get me wrong, averaging 11 points per game, eight rebounds, shooting 73% from the field, which is 21st in the NBA. So, the 21st most efficient, you know, scorer out there in terms of his buckets. has a 72% true shooting which is you know impressive for a guy that has a poor free throw shooting percentage but overall he has been very very effective out there for you know sevenfooter running the the center spot for this team. He doesn’t block a ton of shots for a regular sevenfooter but I’ve been very very impressed with Yaka Burle when he’s been healthy this year but the issue is these centers are always going to have injuries over the course of a season. You know, no matter how well they’re playing, no matter how well they take care of their body, you’re sevenfooter, you’re going to deal with some issues. And the Raptors don’t have that depth at the center position. Colin Murray Boils, Mama Kill can play center in a pinch, but we’ve seen the Raptors try to run small ball five out there for multiple seasons and it’s just not reliable for a long stretch of time. So that’s where the Raptors looking to, you know, acquire, bring in another center has uh been brought up. And Christian Koko is one of those names that is intriguing because he’s formerly with the Toronto Raptors and is a player that, you know, adds an element to the Toronto Raptors that we don’t necessarily have here now at this point because we take a look at, you know, the state of the Toronto Raptors across the NBA. you know, take a look at the stats, take a look at, you know, how this team is going. And frankly, Christian Koko could help us in a lot of areas that would be useful because right now the Toronto Raptors are 23rd in the NBA in total rebounds per game. You see that there at the you know, top right of the middle card there. Y’all may this might be easier to see, but you know, 23rd out there in rebounds per game and 24th in blocks per game. And while Yaka Purle can be a very effective rim defender, you know, he’s mo mobile around the paint. He’s been getting blown off uh the dribble when he’s out there in switches in the pick and roll, but he can be an effective rim protector. He’s not going to be a guy that’s vertically blocking shots. That’s, you know, coming out there and swatting things away being that Victor Webbyamaesque rim presence. Only 0.6 blocks per game for Yaka Purto at the center position isn’t uh, you know, the highest number. Whereas you you compare it to a Christian Koko, you take a look at his stats again, you know, over the course of this season, Koko hasn’t really done much out there for this uh for this team for the the LA Lakers, but in the G-League, the guy is averaging 3.1 blocks per game. He has shown some upside as a three-point shooter. Again, definitely not a high volume, but can be effective in that area. and he’s a guy that is now available because uh news came out, you know, we saw the the report that I broke down in a recent video from um I believe it was uh Brett Seagull and essentially that ended up coming to light. So Sean Stron revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers are signing Drew Timmy to a two-way contract from their South Bay team. He’s averaging like 268 and four. So Drew Timmy, a guy that was on a Raptor summer league team before, is uh you know getting picked up. though we wondered what the heck was going to go on with uh you know their two-way spots and Christian Koko got the short end of the stick as the Lakers ended up waving center Christian Koko to create roster space for Drew Timmy sources have said so now Christian Koko is available you know the rim protecting center that isn’t super effective in a lot of areas but protects the rim is long is wiry and could be another 7 foot body the Raptors add to the roster to add to their depth to add to that position to have some insurance. If Yaka Purle does go down, that is an opportunity the Raptors now have to bring up. And this is where I want to ask you guys, do you want to see the Toronto Raptors make this move? And if we are going to fill out that center position, let me know. Type sign down below if you want to see the Toronto Raptor sign a big man like Christian Koko out there for cheap. Doesn’t have to be Christian Koko. It could be BB Bowl or one of these other sevenfooters that are out there on the open market. If you want to see them trade for a center, you know, the Daniel Gafffords of the world, there’s a bunch of center trade targets that are coming out in the market here in December and January. Going to have another video on breaking down all of those options. If you want to see us trade for a player like that, type down trade. And if you want to see him do nothing, comment down. I will respond to every comment that uh responds to this question down below. But Christian Koko would improve our rebounding, would improve our shot blocking. But of course, you I don’t expect him to play night in night out. But if Yaka Purle is injured, he can definitely spot fill that position. So, let me know what you guys think about all that in the comment section down below. But that’s not the only thing that we are talking about out here in this one because uh we do have some injury updates. So, uh I briefly touched on this in the postgame yesterday, but we got some insight in terms of RJ Barrett’s injury. So, in case you missed it, the Raptors reiterated the test on RJ Barrett’s right knee and it revealed no structural damage. He’s been diagnosed as a sprain and will keep him out of the lineup for another week at least. he’ll be re-evaluated from there. So, no returns imminent for RJ Barrett here now at this point. RJ Barrett, of course, one of the most important players out there on the Toronto Raptors this season, averaging 19.4 points per game, five rebounds, 3.8 assists, and has been very, very efficient, you know, for uh coveted with his new role, shooting 50.6% from the field. The true shooting about 60, which is, you know, pretty solid for a high volume score. The three-point shooting can definitely increase. 35% from behind the three-point line. You have 72% from the free throw strike. That definitely needs to improve. He’s 260th in the entire NBA in that area. But RJ Barrett has been very, very effective out there for this team. So, the fact that he didn’t have any structural damage is extremely positive for this group, but of course, you want to see him return sooner rather than later. So, wishing the best for R.J. Barrett. And I missed um you know, I saw this in the game. I missed in the postgame reaction. I uh I’m not going to lie. I’ve been uh your boy’s been up coding late. the new graphics that we have all set up. Let me know down below if you like them. But my brain I’ve been I’ve been a bit sleepy out of the videos. I forgot about this uh Grady Dick play that happened and uh you know basically smoked his head off the ground hustling for a rebound. And uh basically we have an update on Grady Dick’s injury situation. So Dario said that Grady Dick is feeling fine. They just held him out as a precaution. So I’m sure over the next day or so it’s American Thanksgiving. They’ll take a look and make sure there’s no signs of concussion because it was a scary fall. Again, Grady Dick has been struggling over the course of this season. So, you know, him going down with injury. You don’t want to see that end up happening. You know, this season, you know, in 16.1 minutes per game, his minutes per game are down, but only averaging seven points per night. You know, 1 nine rebounds. He’s trying to hustle. He has some games where he’s really, really, you know, trying out there on the defensive end. And then some games like the Cavaliers game where he was just brutal on that end of the floor. Grady Dick has been having a down year. So, him getting injured or dealing with an issue like that wouldn’t be very good. you know, shooting under 40% from the field, which is, you know, 300th in the NBA, which is not great whatsoever. But Grady Dick 31% from the three-point line, you expect all that to turn around somewhat. So, hopefully he’ll be uh healthy and there’s nothing serious going on with this injury. But moving on from injuries, we do have some positive updates to discuss here. And uh it’s leaning to Brandon Ingram, who of course in yesterday’s game was absolutely fantastic. We take a look, you know, 26 points, eight rebounds, had a game winner out there over Pascal Seakum and he had some, uh, really exciting comments postgame regarding that whole situation and give some insights in terms of the vibe of this Toronto Raptors team. So, uh, basically Brandon Ingram came out and said that, uh, you know, this is why I’m here. That’s as clean as I could say it regarding his, uh, gamewinner and that whole moment. Says I, um, he attacked Pascalakum saying I knew he was in foul trouble. I knew he didn’t want to be overly aggressive. So, he was at uh mer my mercy at that point. So, you know, targeting former Toronto Raptor, a fan favorite amongst Raptors fans, Pascal Seakum, and uh you know, he came out and said, “It feels great. It’s practice for our end goal.” So, Brandon Ingram showing a lot of love to this Toronto Raptor. Steve, there’s been a lot of hype, a lot of excitement regarding, you know, the wig duo, the the group that we have here now at this point. I mean, we’ve talked about it. I asked you guys the question yesterday. Do you think he could be a close on a championship winning team? There was an overwhelming amount of yeses in the comment section, which I love to see. And while yes, there are questions about his efficiency and stuff, you know, in terms of how he, you know, shooting only 31% from the three-point line, his true shooting has gone up, especially over the past games. But it’s a player that just gets you buckets. He hits tough shots. So, the efficiency just isn’t going to be that perfect night in night out. You know why? Because he’s taking those tough shots. you’re down late in the stretch when the Raptors are having a game like they did yesterday against the Indiana Pacers. Brandon Ingram just bails you out of a lot of possessions and did it at the end of the game to win us that game. So, you know, Brandon Ingram gets uh deserves a lot of praise and he also uh you know had this comment. I tried to do a video yesterday, but my tech wasn’t really working that well. But essentially uh Brandon Ingram came out and uh said this regarding uh Ingram and uh I bring it up the wrong the wrong stat but basically he talked about Dark Royovic’s relationship with him as a coach and he loves the fact that Darko comes in and is locked in every single possession every single uh every single day and gave some love out there to Darko out there on that front. So yeah, we got the I got the right button getting pressed here. So what’s the highlight of Brand Ingram season so far? Darko coming into the locker room and yelling. That’s not just one day, it’s every day. For me, that’s the best part about being here. Our coach is present every single day. So, you know, lots of praise, lots of love out there for Dark Rayakovich. You absolutely love to see it. The vibes are on an alltime high now for this Toronto Raptors group. And when you’re hitting game winners, when you’re doing all this stuff, I mean, it’s hard not to be excited as a Toronto Raptors fan. So, folks, I appreciate every single one of you that have been uh tuning in the videos. If you made it this far, you are a real one. comment down below. I’ll heart everyone that uh says you’re a real one out there in the comment section. But we are on that goal for 50,000 subscribers now. We’re on that road and uh you know it’s a long journey. We just hit 40. I want to hit it by the end of the season. So if you’re enjoying the daily Toronto Raptors content, if you made it this far in the video, make sure you guys hit that subscribe button. 1. im sorry but he had his chance with Toronto and we need to move pass him. Same situation with Jallen Harris, he was given a chance in Toronto and he blew it by doing drugs. Sorry but you had your chance. Rather give this money to a younger talent

  2. Trade, we need a good center who we can rely on and Christian has not proved anything throughout his career we cant be signing bad players expecting them to become good we have taken too many gambles and that's why we became bad in the recent years

  3. Id only sign Koloko if he apologizes for thinking it was greener on the other side and gives us an apology for leaving. Yes im petty lol!! Left us when we were down now he want to be around for the come up lol ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  4. At some point I expect Bobby to clear the logjam of similar wings. Hopefully this is done in a trade that returns a backup 5.
Ochai and Grady, on their way out.

  5. I want to say "sign" but the Raptors were really quick to jettison Koloko when his medical issue (blood clots?) first arose. It always seemed strange to me, like they were happy to have an excuse to cut him loose.

  6. Are we or aren't we going to sign Koloko ?? Low risk , high reward . I am sure the Raptor's coaching staff can turn Koloko into the best version of himself. We need another 7ft rim protector if not him someone else. Bobby has been qukte slow doing the work to get this done. Remember , we are a Yak injury away of losing unnecessarily some games that could be won with a GOOD BACKUP CENTRE !
