Vancouver Canucks Are Rebuilding??

After that disaster of a game against Calgary and all the talk of a possible rebuild, the Canucks actually played a solid game against Anaheim. A couple days ago, Jim Rutherford confirmed they want to prioritize getting younger players in draft picks and other additional assets in return for their expiring free agents and veterans. So, a few names are on the chopping block. Evander Kane, Teddy Bluger, Derek Forbert, and fan favorite Kefir Sherwood. It’s nice to finally understand the direction for this team, and I guess we’ll just see how the next few games play out. First game of the Cali road trip, the Vancouver Canucks went up against Anaheim and they surprisingly played pretty well. They definitely showed up to play in this game. Nikita Tolapilo got his first start of the season and actually finished the game with 37 saves and a win. Lionus Carlson opened the scoring for the Canucks. Lionus is heating up. Three goals in his last five. Not a big deal. Vander Kane followed that up with a power play goal. Now that he’s on the trade block, he’s going to start putting up points. Of course, Connor Garland scored one of the nicest Canucks goals I’ve seen this season. What an effort. What a goal. End of the second period. It was tied up 3-3. Wouldn’t be a Canucks game if we didn’t let the other team back into the game. And the Canucks finally got some bounces. They scored too late and ended up winning 5-4. Great response after last game and all of the noise surrounding the direction of the team. You love to see it. Should we start planning the parade, Kucks fans?
