Now, the caveat is I want to be fully transparent with you guys on this. The hat isn’t going to be trucker. I don’t even know if you could tell, and I don’t even know if you guys care, but it’s going to be the same exact style. the A-frame, the snapback, the look just like this. It’s not going to be trucker, though, because I got this hat done at Lids. I just got it for myself. I was like, I I just want to do it. I think it would look cool. I think it look clean. And in terms of selling it and stuff, I was like, I’m going to wear it. We’ll see what the demand is. We’ll see if people want me to sell them. And clearly, you guys do. The demand is definitely there. The comments both on YouTube and Instagram are saying like, “Yo, I want this hat. Let me get this hat.” So, initially I was going to do like a pre-order and take the orders, get them in from a wholesaler, and then ship them to you. But I was like, damn, that’s going to take way too long and be way too inefficient. So, I figured out a way I could get you these hats like shipped to you right off the not going to be in like the trucker style, but it is the same style. It’s the A-frame, it’s the snapback, all that stuff. It is a good hat. I looked it up, did my research. I was working my ass off trying to figure this [ __ ] out for you guys yesterday. But I also want to be fully transparent in like the whole process with all this. Like this is very impromptu. This is my first time trying to do something like this and sell some like legit merch. Um, I figure transparency is the best way cuz I haven’t touched these hats that I’m going to sell to you guys just yet. So, if you want to wait till I get them, go ahead. Feel free to. But if you feel like the message needs to be out there sooner rather than later. You want to get your hands on these as soon as possible. The link is live. But that’s that. Let’s get to the show. I guess I’m I’m more excited about the hats than talking about anything on this show today to be honest with you. Maybe we just cut it off right now. Uh Tomlin did a press conference yesterday. This is something that’s being discussed on social media a lot. He was asked by a reporter about the infamous play where the Bears were running four verticals. They had three guys on one side and we’re doing a cover three, which is a big no no for a defense in that situation. And here’s what he had to say. In the situation of the the 25 yard more touchdown, we ran up the seam against you guys. It was trips right for verticals. Is that a situation where you have to check out of the cover three zone or I am not going to peel back the layers of how we function from a schematic standpoint. Although I am impressed by the depths of your question. I like the question. I mean, Tomman’s response was smart here, though, too. But maybe sometimes it’s just better to be simple and say, “Yeah, kind of [ __ ] that up or kind of messed that up. It was it was bad on our end there.” Because, dude, I even know from Madden in that type of situation. If I’m in the trips in the shotgun and you’re running a zone, especially a cover three zone, bro, I’m loving that. I I don’t know how many times you guys remember whenever I play Madden. I I do that trips to the one side, tight end to the other, read the defense. If they’re in zone and they’re in cover three, I’m hitting that middle guy on the vertical all day every day. That’s that’s where the opening is going to be. That’s where the hole is. And in this case, I mean, it was wide open. Hell, the defenses I was playing in Madden had some tighter covers than that. And sometimes I’d have to I’d have to throw some dots to make it work. Caleb Williams and the Bears, it was just so wide open. and it was our defense was like that that bad there. Um, but I think it’s a fair question like, hey, you see that formation, cover three is a weakness against this formation. Are you going to check out of it? Are you going to do something else? You going to go to like a cover two man? Are you going to go to a a cover four or something? And for us to just stay in cover three, it is very questionable. And for Tama to just brush it off like that, it’s like, bro, like what’s going on with our checks and our audles and how we handle what different offenses are doing to us? Is it just going to be we put our head in the sand and say, “Oh, we’re just going to keep doing what we’re doing or like, do we have audibles? Do we have audibles for that type of [ __ ] I don’t know.” Or maybe the audible wasn’t communicated properly enough. But this all goes into football. That’s why I’m tired of hearing like, “Oh, it’s just a communication issue.” Yeah, that’s part of the game. That’s part of football. That’s what you got to be doing. You guys got to all be on the same page because if not, [ __ ] like that’s going to happen. And that’s what the offense’s job is to try to do against your defense. Get you guys confused. And same thing vice versa. And the fact that I don’t know, it doesn’t really seem that we have a good baseline of communication or we’re all on the same page on a consistent basis. It’s very concerning. very concerning to say the least, which is why the commentary on the Steelers has been what it’s been recently and has it’s it’s starting to really hit a tipping point as of late. But I also wanted to get into a Josina Anderson report yesterday. She tweeted that there’s a longtime NFL head coach who’s considering a wanting of change of scenery and has told others these thoughts. if he acts on these lingering feelings, his departure would clearly add to the list of vacancies this offseason in terms of head coaching vacancies. And this tweet, this report has got Steeler Nation attention because I don’t think it would be too far of a stretch to think that she’s talking about Mike Tolman because when you’re talking about a longtime NFL head coach who may want to change of scenery, there’s not really too many options out there outside of Mike Tomman. Maybe you say John Harbaugh. I know Ravens fans have gotten sick of him a little bit, but he’s had way more success compared to what Tolman has had over the last like four or five years, at least in terms of being a legitimate threat in the playoffs and winning divisions and, you know, being right there in in close games and being competitive. I mean, last year, if it wasn’t for Mark Andrews fumbling and dropping that two-point conversion, they should have beat the Bills. So, I I don’t really think the Ravens and Harbaugh I guess it would be Harbaugh being the one with this tweet and Justina Anderson saying the coach is wanting the change of scenery and not the organization. Why? Like, why would Harbaugh be talking like that when the Ravens are gaining momentum in the middle of the season and playing their best ball? Like, that doesn’t make sense to me. Andy Reed with the Chiefs. No. McDermott Bills. H I could see that. Okay, I could see that with the Bills, but then I feel like that would be stupid from McDermott standpoint. You have one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Josh Allen, in his prime. Why are you trying to move off of that? What are you going to get better than that? Shawn McVey, no. Shanahan, Niners, no. Lafleur, no. Zack Taylor, Stfansky, Campbell, Siri, do you consider them longtime coaches? And I don’t think any of them are really Maybe Stfansky. Maybe Stfansky. I could see him wanting to move off the Browns, but he’s only been there five years. Is that long time? It’s really Tomlin is the name that sticks out and would go hand inand with this report because not only are Steeler fans wanting a change of scenery, but I wouldn’t blame Tomlin either because of how much the fans are complaining and how they want a change of scenery and they feel like Tomlin isn’t good enough anymore. I wouldn’t blame Tolman for wanting a fresh start either. But you can’t blame the fans for feeling that way as well because of the Steelers lack of success over the last decade and how we don’t have a playoff win over the last eight years and feels like we’re perpetually 10 and seven, nine and eight. We’re behind the rest of the league in certain areas, etc., etc. We’ve been over those talks before. I don’t really need to delve deep into that, but I think the tweet makes sense if Salman’s looking to move on. And I don’t think any of the fans are going to want to stop him either. Still under contract, it would make most sense to trade him if you’re going to do it. Maybe it’ll be like some sort of mutual agreement at the end of the year between Tom and Steelers organization. We’re deciding to part ways. Tomman’s going to look for a new opportunity. We’ve given him the chance to speak with other teams and then we’ll do business after and see what the draft pick trade package would have to be to move Tomlin to another squad. you know that that’s how I could see it going. Thing is, we do got to see how the rest of the season plays out. Just Yeah, we’ll see that. But right now, I got it’s just looking bleak. The vibes are really bad for all parties involved. Like the players, if this is true, I I think we could put two and two together. It’s Tomlin that’s starting to want the change of scenery despite what he said in the past about being the Steelers head coach. I could see him hitting his breaking point, too, with how the fans and media are reacting to this 2025 season thus far. But you can’t blame him. Again, it’s just time for a fresh start, both sides. That’s why we talked about at the end of last season. It’s just it’s run its course. Things have gotten stale. It’s not that complicated. It’s not that deep. It’s happened before with legendary coaches, better coaches than Mike Tolman, like a Chuck Null. Uh Andy Reid in Philly, even though he didn’t have as much success as Mike Tolman. You saw how that breakup benefited both parties. Andy Reed going to the Chiefs. Eagles getting a couple new head coaches in there, winning a couple Super Bowls after Reed left. Not that deep. Sometimes your voice just doesn’t have the same traction. It doesn’t have the same oomph as it did whenever you first were the Steelers head coach in those first 5 to 10 years. You’re you’re here so long and it just becomes stale. It just becomes stale. Um yeah, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens at the end of the season if the season goes as it’s looking right now as we’re probably expecting it to go. nine and eight, 10 and seven, not legit contenders and sitting at home when the big playoff games are being played. But, uh, is there anything else to go over? Uh, Brick Jones and Derek Harmon are going to be out for this upcoming game. Tomlin talked about that yesterday in his Tuesday press conference. That’s not good. We’re going to have Calvin Anderson or Andress Pete at left tackle in Brick’s place. Not saying Brick’s been perfect this year, but he he has started to turn the corner. He’s been better. That’s going to be a loss. He’s suffering from like a stinger like a like a neck injury or something like that. Got knocked out of last week’s game. Don’t know when he’s going to be back. Not the best sign that he was already announced out for this week. So, it might be a week toe thing as opposed to he’s trending in the right direction. Expect him back next week. He just needs to rest one game. And Dererick Harmon kind of same thing. Knee injury. Don’t really have much of a status update for how long term that’s going to be. Daniel Aqual got suspended five games. Who? Who cares? He’s on IR anyway. Uh, he didn’t really do much for us when playing. I think that’s it for the show today. Non- losing season champions hats.
