Jets’ potential 2026 draft plan

The benefit of all these losses
of all this losing for. The Jets is the NFL draft order,
because shout-out tank, Athan, we are back to doing this again,
haven’t even made it to us Thanksgiving. Dude, like we
were looking at this honestly, come Halloween, but like fact,
it’s nice to think God just get us Thanksgiving,
please here, that’s all I ask. All right, so Titans who are a complete and total
disaster are 1 and 10 and hold the number one overall pick in
the draft. The Giants would pick S at the NFL draft were
held today. They are two and ten, then you have the Saints or
two and nine. The Jets are two and nine. The Raiders are
two and nine. You have the final week of buys. Man up I think this week and
next week it for maybe just one more week. So these records well
even out where like you kind of have more of a general
idea of what’s going to happen. I will say this about the jet
sack There’s all this debate right
now and we can talk a little bit about it about. Take the quarterback in 2026,
take the quarterback in 2027, I understand that the 2027 draft
class appears a better quarterback
class right now, I get that 100% Arch man is
going to be there, more might be there. There’s going to be
two or three other guys that come out of the Woodworks where
you’re like, oh my God, isn’t raiola, like he’ll be there like all these
random guys like sellers, like all these guys are going to be
there and they’re all going to be better next year and it’s
going to Lie, cuz it’s gonna be like, five legit franchise.
Quarterbacks, we’ve heard that before, like the evaluations on guys
that are the evaluation of quarterbacks can change. So,
dramatically over the course of 12 months, go all the way back
to Matt Barkley. If that guy came out, he was
going to be the number one overall pick in the draft plays.
Another year is a complete and total disaster. I
think the Eagles get him and like the fourth or fifth round.
He’s a backup. Whenever last Christian Hackenberg gonna be a
first round pick completely changes the Jets. Reach from the
second round, complete and total disaster.
Like you see this? This stuff every
single year where yet it looks like next year’s
better in next year’s better. Next year’s better, there’s no
guarantee that these evaluations on these
quarterbacks will or won’t change. Secondly, you’re going
to have to gamble and roll the dice and hope that picks one, two and three.
If there are three quarterbacks that you believe are legitimate,
no doubt, bona fide franchise. Quarterbacks you have
to hope and pray that the team’s picking 1 2 and 3. If
the Jets after rounding out this roster with all the draft picks, they’re going
to have this year. And the free-agent dollars say they
went Six or seven games next year, they’re picking 8 or 9,
you have to pray that the team is picking. One two and three
are willing to move and don’t need quarterback. So you could
very easily find yourselves in a situation like the Giants were
two years ago where they wanted more than
anything else, Drake mayor, Jaden Daniels. They were not
getting up to number two because the Commander’s weren’t
moving. They weren’t getting up to number 3 because the Patriots
weren’t going to move. So the Giants had to sit and
wait it looks like an ultimately benefit
of the Giants because I got Jackson Dart looks pretty
damn good, but it’s just a risk. So, in my opinion, If
the Jets evaluate this
quarterback class and believe that one of
these guys whether it’s Simpson or whether it’s been Dozer or
whether it’s somebody else that comes up
throughout the college playoffs and they believe that guy’s a
franchise quarterback, do not hesitate to take him or move up
to get him. And the way that the NFL draft is currently
setting up with the Titans picking one, and the Giants, picking to the
jets are in a / meme. Premium Premier situation to have an
opportunity to go up and get their guy because the Titans are
going to draft a quarterback as they have Cam
Ward. The Giants aren’t going to draft a
quarterback because I have Jackson Dart. So those two teams
will be interested in moving back, which means the
Jets could move up. Yeah, look I know this has been a big topic
about like waiting until 2027 to draft a quarterback. Why can’t you draft a
quarterback in both drafts, like I take a swing both years like it
whether it’s round first round, if you draft a guy in the first
round and this year and he doesn’t look, any looks like JJ
McCarthy. Then you get didn’t you try again next year? Like
that’s, that’s what I think. So. I would not be opposed to
that that’s that’s kind of what I
don’t work. He stinks. They draft Kyler
Murray. The next year, I mean, and the other routes
that go, let’s say, let’s say either, they aren’t able to get
their hands on the top two guys, or they don’t like those
two guys. Drafted on quarterback, they have another
first-round pick at the end of the first round. There’s a
couple of guys that I think I’ve been mentioned. I was like
late first, early. Second type prospects, like John metier, the kid, from USC draft. A guy like
that. See, if you have something there, it’s not as
debilitating, if he’s not, if he’s terrible or whatever and
then you could try again next year. So that That’s that’s kind of where I’m at.
Like you can look ahead to the next
year while still taking somebody this year and seeing
what you have, the Browns kind of did it was chador and Dylan,
Gabriel Gabriel. It’s pretty clearly not
an NFL quarterback, we’ll see about your door but you know
you do that with the eye towards the next year. While
also like you know leaving open the possibility that the guy you
draft now could be the guy. So you know they have enough draft
capital in the coming years to double dip if they have to I agree with that. I don’t have
an issue with that. If you believe like if you draft the
kid and he just doesn’t look like he has it and you are hell.
Bent your conviction that next year? One of these guys is I have no problem doing it and
trading the kid you drafted for a third-round pick like, yeah,
you basically trade a first-round pick in the 20s
for the third and the point
value. That’s going to be a significant
dip. But you deal with that you handle, you have
no problem that you say, like, you know what? Yeah, we screwed up guys, left
hand up, but we took a chance, we took a swing on the
quarterback. Now, we’re taking the other swing. I don’t think
as long as would he’s willing to sign off on that. That I have no problem with them
doing that as well.

  1. Why wouldn’t you take one both years? What if u wait and 27 is a bust? You have to take a QB this year but you don't have to take him at 4. Do your homework. Beck, Nussmeyer, Mateer, Maiava. If Brady Cook isnt hanging around draft a qb this year.

  2. I would totally ignore Connor on his take right here! The roster isn’t good to begin with. Also, we have more ammunition in 27’ than 26’ with 3 1st.

  3. The jokes about looking at this every year and next year are old bro. We don’t need another Cimini who is cynical and loves jokes at our expense. Be lucky you cover an nfl team.

  4. The Jets should draft whoever they have on their board if he’s there if not either trade back or best available player after Mendoza it’s not great even if Dante declares he has 1 year of experience he should stay in school no rush to reach the NFL because of NIL money

  5. We need to build a roster first. I wouldnt draft a qb at all this year. Get a roster that can compete and any qb will look good. To many times we have jumped on this qb is a savior mentality. You know why Sanchez did well? He had a team around him. Why have the rest faltered since? No team around them. We're getting there but we need lbs, cbs, safeties, more edge players and more rotational defensive players. As well as plug and play wrs, a right guard, back up o lineman. I honestly am not sold on any of these kids playing qb that are coming in this year. Mendoza is a bust. 100% guaranteed. The rest are mediocre back ups at best themselves.

  6. Whatever you do, don't waste the extra picks you earned by trading Sauce n Quinnen by trading up. If the QB you desire falls into your lap, take him. If it doesn't materialize, take the BPA at 4 or 5.

  7. The Jets drafted 6 QBs since they last made the playoffs…. Only 2 in the 1st round. They have had the worst QB play out of all team since Chad. You wonder why they haven't made the playoffs and considered the worst team in professional the league?!

  8. I wouldn’t touch any of these Qbs in this draft id go find a qb that can make a play and take care of the football with a strong defense and a good backfield bring a Vet in, Josh Dobbs, Sam Howell, someone that can complete a pass

  9. If Mendoza is there for the Jets, just take him. They said this years draft class was going to be great and it’s got one maybe two first round caliber quarterbacks. You’ll have 3 first round picks next year to actually build the roster at premier positions of need so that even if Mendoza is a game manager at least you are able to build the team in other spots to support him.

  10. When the season is over think the Jets will have pick 6, 7, or 8. Don't think Jets should trade up to select a player they have a good grade on. Good teams will find a player regardless of where they are. Jets should select a QB after they have support players around him. There will be some good QBs available on day three. Also, Jets should look at small school QBs. Don't leave a stone unturned.

  11. Allar at pick one , Best defensive player pick 2, Draft center/ guard 2nd rd, Draft, Safety 2ND RD , sign WR 2 and center guard in free agency…
